Not too much to complain about
Colorado RG 4x4 Z71 (2015-2023)I bought my Z71 Colorado new in Jan 18, so far in 108000km I have only had 1 problem, the DPF lunched itself after 80000 km, all good now.
The ute had an ECU remap at 26000 km which may have caused the DPF to fail, not covered under warranty due to remap, fine by me.
The remap made the car bloody awesome to drive, no lag from standing start and a big power and torque boost.
It has fitted to it now a 3” DPF back exhaust, no muffler just a hotdog, Kings Domin8r LED driving lights,Outback Industries Roof Console, Oricom 80ch UHF,Opposite Lock 2
Hmmm..
Colorado RG 4x4 Z71 (2015-2023)2018 Colorado Twin Cab Z 71...Only driven on sealed roads, no off the beaten track or unmade road driving! Purchased from a dealer as an ex demo with just over $4k on the odometer... Less than 20K done to date and less than 5 years old. Catalytic converter replaced (under warranty thankfully) at 16K due to it "cracking" and a large hole developed..(Cost would have been approx $1K). Now out of warranty and the MyLink infotainment does not work! Replace or repair between $500 - $1000... Seriously, virtually a NEW car with these significant and costly issues. Check forums about these issues,,,The MyLink one is common...

Colorado RG 4x4 LS (2012-2023)I don't think it's a good idea to buy a car or receive a work supplied car and then straightaway do a review on it. Best to wait a number of years to see what crops up. So here goes.
I was given this work supplied Colorado in 2019 and it was brand new. With it's 2.8 diesel 6 speed auto (my employer only gets autos) it has good power but the accelerator pedal needs to be pressed quite a way towards the floor before the power kicks in. Torque? what torque for when you comes to a slight hill it immediately changes down. Diesels are supposed to ha

2014 LTZ auto Very reliable heavy tow vehicle.
Colorado RG 4x4 LTZ (2012-2023)Bought our 2014 LTZ auto brand new. This is a pre DPF vehicle. 156000k about 40% of its life is spent heavy towing. Either our Basestation tare 2350kg a boat Tare 2700kg or a tandem often with a car on it. So several laps plus other and farm work. Rarely used off road. The vehicle has a great reliable engine and the best transmission for towing I have used. Much better than my old cruiser as tow vehicle and half the fuel consumption. Engine oil changed ever 7000 to 8000k Auto fluid changed every 70k. Servicing completed by both myself and Holde

I wonder about replacing it with Holden closing but find it hard to identify a good replacement. And I like driving it. The engine with its forged internals is very good indeed. Don't care about noise it's the same colour as my tractor! And for a truck it's quiet. Around 8.5 to 9 litres per 100 country driving around 16 litres per hundred towing Basestation.Air vents
ColoradoAny suggestions on what air vent to use in the canopy as we have done the seals on the tray still getting dust in. So chasing any ideas what we can do

Colorado RG 4x4 Z71 (2015-2023)I’ve had my 2015 Colorado Z71 for 3 years now.
Purchased second hand with 60,000kms now done 130,000 and still love it. Only issues I’ve had was the tensioner pulley fail, and the touch screen on radio has played up 3-4 times. I drive a 79 series dual cab for work and would pick the Colorado everyday over the cruiser.
Tows my 5.3m boat, camper brilliantly best dual cab I’ve owned I’ve had Hilux, Navara and an amarok and would buy another one tomorrow if they still made them
Turbo bov
Colorado RC (2008-2011)I have a 2011 Holden Colorado and I would like to know if there are any sensors or anything connected to the hose that runs off the stock bov. It runs under the intercooler so I can’t see and I don’t have the time to take the inter cooler off.

Worst car ever bought
Colorado RG 4x4 LS (2012-2023)Commuting and Transport. Not often as car not safe to drive. Mechanic noted diff housing bent Holden refuse to fix car wanders all over the road. Holden dealers only do wheel alignment and say just hang on to the steering wheel and it wont wander all over the road.

Under rated work horse diesel.
ColoradoThis is an excellent motor, the last Japanese built in the GMH series.
The vehicle is well built and solid as a brick loo.
The parts are cheap and plentiful.
Everyone knows them well, mechanics know them, parts houses know them.
Not fast and furious but a long lasting slow old plodder, sipping the fuel.
Well designed middle of the road vehicle for those are humble.

Terrible Purchase
Colorado RG 4x2 LS (2012-2023)Purchased 2016 Colorado MY17 from Mazda dealership. Car only had 60,000km on it, thought great buy. Found out Torque converter had been replaced only 9000km earlier, and after a week driving, it kept slipping into neutral and then slamming into gear ( even reverse). Took it back to Mazda, they blamed Torque Converter again, sent it to Holden who claimed it was fine. Another week went by same thing happening, dropped it to Mazda and said its getting dangerous. After another diagnosis, problem was traced back to transmission ( as I had told them
... Read morepreviously). Long story short new transmission was installed after them having the car for 4 weeks. So now a car with under 63,000km has a new torque converter, new transmission installed. Does not leave me with any confidence with this vehicle at all. What will the next issue be?????Great Car
Colorado RG 4x4 (2012-2023)The car has done a lot of heavy duty work throughout its life, we have had it since 2012 and it has been great. never had any dramas with the car except for a blown diff but that is about it. would definitely recommend the car. Absolutely love it. it can definitely handle off road stuff. we have got a camper trailer that we tow around a lot and it definitely handles it well on and off road.
Show detailsThe car with the most warranty repairs I have had.
Colorado RG 4x4 Z71 (2015-2023)Use my Colorado mostly for commuting, running the family around, towing a small trailer and a bit of gentle off road when on holiday.
The car has been serviced regularly and by a Holden Dealer.
Many issues since new - electric window problems, DPF brackets (a few of these), gear box triple flush and initial problem has returned so now expecting a new torque converter, a new gear stick due to not being able to take the ignition key out, oil filler cap melted..... and they are the issues I can remember.
Dealer has been okay sorting the issues out although they still have to go through the step by step fixes even when there is a known issue such as the torque converter. Could save time and money by going straight for the final fix.
