Love it! – I went to Bunnings in the search of a decent leave vacuum. The helpful shop assistant persuaded me to buy this. My response was “but it’s so cheap - how many have come back with issues?”. I was quickly told, none that I’m aware of but if there is an issue within the first twelve months (may even have been longer) just bring it back and you’ll get… Read more

a new one. I figured for $29 what the heck!

It works a treat, and far more powerful than expected - and I have an assortment of leaves, twigs, etc! It hasn’t missed a beat (been over 12 months) and has an added bonus of working as a blower also.

plastic zip – had a shoe repair guy sew a metal zip and has been fine ever since $ 15 repair cost unit is not commercial quality but neither is the price. I have been usually been using it maybe once a month maybe less but it works ok for the small clean up requirements I have  Show details

Useless piece of junk – The BAGS are absolute crap. If the Zip dose not blow out the actual Bag tears like a piece of Tissue Paper. The lever that alters Blower to Vac mode broke of on first use. The unit is very noisy but Homelite do state the db reading in large print on the side.  Show details

BAGS ARE HOPELESS – Bought the vac/blower from Bunnings and the first time I used it the zipper on the bag blew out and was useless after that. Returned it to Bunnings and got a replacement. Guess what? The bag has gone again. Sucks and blows OK, very noisy and heavy. Cannot recommend.

Ok machine but Bag useless – Like most reviews the machine works ok.The blow to suction switch snapped clean off in the first year and the bag is a nightmare. The bag zip will be loose from the first time you open it.Were onto a 2nd one in 18 months and the price offsets any initial savings over better makes. Less than satisfied overall Machine itself works well overall The collection bag is useless. The zip breaks each time within a year.Onto 2nd bag in 18 months

Absolute Garbage – Never again with Homelite, This thing is nothing more than a poorly built toy. The unit is heavy and noisy however does (sort of) what is to be expected. The catcher bag however is completely useless, The zip failed on the second attempt at emptying the bag, then broke completely rendering the entire unit useless. I will never be duped by cheap… Read more

brands again. If I can't afford something in the future, I'll simply save up or do without. Worked well ONCE ! Heavy - Noisy - Bag completely useless

Cheap parts and quality, don't waste you time to save a few bucks – Overall the build quality is low, the lay out and functionality are dire. Closer - The electrical cable is ridiculous and falls out when under tension. The power output for weight is very poor. Plastic clips snap off. It weighs a lot more than it needs to. I can go on. With that introduction why bother wasting time and effort for the chance to… Read more

save a few dollars. Okay for the cheapos out there but it won't last and you will be buying something to replace it soon enough. When you have used many types of blower you get 'the knowledge'. In the end it is your choice as it basically functions, remember this is my 'opinion', but i have used various types of blower and this is the worst I have come across ( just beating the 2 Ryobi fiascos). Cheap Product cheap parts – I have one of the GBV2400 about 15 months old and I am on my 3rd vac bag. The zipper is a piece of junk and the bag is not covered by warranty The blower vac itself works OK but without a secure vac bag it's useless. This product would be good value for money if the manufacture had put a better quality Vac bag with it. Product works well and… Read more

represents value for money. The vac bag zipper is very poorly manufactured and is not suitable for the job.

No more sweeping – I got one of thee second hand, which means it was really cheap because they are not an expensive tool realtive to their competition. I've used it now for about a year and half, and only had one small issue which was the micro switch coming loose not enabling it to switch on. However, I have found that it is perfectly fine tool for blowing… Read more

leaves and the like off my deck. I have used the vacuum function as well, and this seems to work alright, however, I can imagine as others have mentioned in their reviews that accidently sucking up stones or hard bits could smash the fan apart.

The zip on the bag is not terribly precise, but I have not had any troubles with it spraying dust. This is a really noisy tool though.

It is definately not a precision tool, or made to an exceptional quality. But against the price, I have found it has served its function well. It is not terribly well balanced with a heavy motor and long light funnel. The wheels on teh end of the funnell and shoulder strap provided are both pretty useless.

Alright tool, yes, great tool no. Good value, yes, great value, maybe if you get a good run out of it or pick it up second hand. Cheap, so far done what's meant to Noisy, unbalanced

Burnt out 2nd use – Bought this at Bunnings due to price. First impressions were poor suction, when on vaccuum any finer material blows through the hopeless bag so dust sprays everywhere, zipper very poor quality and difficult to do back up. 2nd use it started smoking and quickly burnt out. Would be in the running for the worst piece of equipment I have ever bought. Cheap Poor bag, poor zipper, poor suction, noisy, bag leaks, poor quality, burnt out 2nd use

I agree ,just rubbish...spend a little more and get a real product that does what it is designed to do...it is indeed a shocker

Disappointing from the beginning – I went for the Homelite mainly on price, it was half the price of the name brands. Within a month of use the bolt which holds the suction funnel to the main section worked itself loose. No great drama, but an inconvenience as I had to fit another one. It also is a very noisy machine, and frankly the suction power is not great - it battled with… Read more

bigger leaves at times. The On/off switch started playing up recently, and has finally given up, so my machine is currently unusable.

On the plus side it blows very well, and has a nice big bag which is easy to empty.

Unfortunately for me the negatives outweigh the positives, so mine will be going out with my next hard rubbish collection, and I'll be getting myself a better blower vac. Cheap Poor quality, suction power not good

Very good value for money – Very strong blower capable of moving most garden cuttings and leaves. The suction is also not bad as long as you do not have to cover a large area. I use mine after mowing the lawn and it does a fantastic job clearing the clippings from the driveway and paths. I have even used it very successfully to blow the gutters clean of leaves. For $54 at Bunnings, you can not go wrong. Good value for what you get. Great price, does the job well

Good – Obviously time will tell about reliability but as it is owned by TTI which manufactures Ryobi brand name products, one can assume it is not a dodgy product. It works really well. I bought it as it was cheap and only an occasional user. I was not disappointed. It blows, vacuums and mulches as well as the more expensive units I have used. It is well… Read more

built and functional with a clear manual. The bags empties readily and the package simply works, well. (Pity about the in your face red colour though). The red colour.

Excellent product , does exactly what you want to do ie blow/suck leaf's – Got this at Bunnings for $59 after looking around at petrol models. Its noisy (sounds like a turbine) but effective , blows well. Suction isn't too bad , just occasionally it gets blocked at the outlet into the bag but you just take it easier when sucking up debris. Too all those naysayers (get a broom) we have pebblecrete and surrounded byy… Read more

gum and turpentine trees which makes the leaf really difficult to sweep up.

Takes all of 20 mins to do what would take 2 hours.Only downside is leaves around the pool , not game to use in case I fall in !

Love the colour , fire engine red. ! Cost effective solution , quick results. Noisy but if you are quick saves elbow grese on the broom.

Good – I have a natural bias against Homelite products on the basis of them being budget products. And they're red. I've learned to buy quality brand tools (in blue and green colours). That said, when I decided to get a leaf blower, I fought the urge to buy name brands. At my local Bunnings, the build quality of the name brands was no better than the… Read more

Homelite. The Homelite had just as much power. And this is just a leaf blower/sucker we're talking about. It's not what I'd call a quality-critical tool. The Homelite was also $60 versus $100+ for name brands. I went with the Homelite and have no regrets after using it a couple of times. It effectively sucks up leaves and leaves the gravel in place. It also mulches the leaves nicely. Really, it's hard to fault. Especially for the price. Cheap. Effective. Not able to discern quality difference between this and much more expensive models. Yeah, not a fan of the red colour. Just not right in the garden. It's also a bit loud (no louder than other leaf blowers I've heard though).
