Honda CBF1000

Great bike , rides smooth – Pleasantly surprised at how good it is on the outback roads. So smooth just eats the potholes and bumps like they are not there. Seat is comfy and adjustable , only thing I don't like is the bars are a tiny bit too far forward , will put some after market risers on to fix that.I have an aftermarket windscreen fitted , got caught in a down pour , stayed surprisingly dry, and the bike felt firm on the road even in pouring rain. Would of prefered if the bike had of been Shaft drive , but sadly it is chain drive.
Purchased for $6,000.

Easy to ride handful flawless at high speeds – This is a very powerful bike and it will, cruise at high speed endlessly. It has a retuned Honda Fireblade engine in it. It is an excellent long distance cruiser with beautiful top box matching pannier sets and even Givi stuff makes it look good. It is also pretty damn good just popping down to the shops...heavy and at age 76 I cant pick it up if dropped. Tough also I have been rear ended twice by idiots and hardly any damage other than to me. ABS brakes are connected to both front and back. It's a Honda and they know how to build reliable bikes and this is. Easy to do do own maintenance but pretty basic instrumentation..
At the used price this is a stormer of a bike but easy to use if you can manage the weight... my partner loves the pillion seat against the top box for back support.

2008 cbf1000 – After a 20 year break from riding I purchased a Yamaha Xvs 1100 and was happy enough cruising around for a while until some country trips showed me the shortfalls of the cruiser style. Wind hitting you in the chest at 120 kph with no protection for an hour or two and you get off exhausted. I purchased a 2008 cbf1000 with abs and have never looked back. It is hooningly fast with what I call usable power ie mid range 4 -7000 rpm. It has a 3/4 fairing and an upright riding position so country trips are now a breeze and after 2 hours in the saddle I get off and am fine.
If your looking for one bike that can do it all give the cbf1000 a test ride. Plenty of accessories available to modify and make it your own also. Upright riding position, comfortable for pillion with great top box back rest and grab rails, 300 km + tank range. Chain drive so can get a little messy
Great Smooth bike, well balanced easy to ride – This was my first big bike after riding 250's, and originally thought it was a big step up. But not as much as I thought. This bike is easy to ride, it reminds me of a v8 equivalent in a car. Plenty of torque, midrange and smooth. Remarkably well balanced. I am 5ft10 and find it easy to handle. Fast but not crazy, good overall and like having the security of abs especially in the wet. Easy to ride, fast, smooth, well balanced. Looks Ok, but could look better
Awesome UJM – If you want a bike that will carve through city traffic then take out on quiet back roads and have a play then look no further. It is no CBR, R1 or GSXR but the power delivery is smooth, strong and plentiful. Its very predictable(hasnt got the usual all or nothing characteristic of inline 4s) power curve feels more like a v twin, nice and linear. Sadly now discontinued in Australia. You can pick them up quite cheap, extremely user friendly bike. Great step up from a 250cc,seriously. Strong low and mid range grunt, good suspension considering non adjustable, excellent tyre wear. Fuel tank could be a little bigger

I stepped up to a CBF 1000 from a Suzuki GSF500. No problems. It is easy to manage and has plenty of everything. Have toured and arms wrists etc pull up ok after 400km.
Have done 3 days at Eastern Creek and have never had so much fun.
Hard to know where to go to next as it does everything well.
Ps I am a mature age rider also....
