Great product – Love this Alarm, works well for us. We could do with another Alarm for the office. But it does love kangaroos. So we turn it off at night. No it does not fail.

No battery life on back up – Tried running on battery only but lasted about 5 days Booklet says you should get 2 weeks on batteries Entry alarm could chime longer as its only a few seconds Unit constructed of high quality hopefully uv stabilized materials Had a few false alarms but could have been birds

Purchased in at eBay for $150.

Long range Remote Infra Red movement sensor – My driveway entrance is 100 meters from the house and I want to have some warning when someone enters the driveway. This kit consists of an Infra Red movement sensor (PIR) near the gate and a base station (Receiver) in the house. When movement is detected at the entrance to the gate, a wireless signal is sent to the base station which can generate a tone. Up to 4 movement sensors can be paired with the base station and each will have a different sound. You can also have more than one base station in a large house (3 max?). What makes this system better than cheaper versions, is the maximum distance between the remote Infra Red movement sensor and the base station. The manufacturer says 1/4 of a mile. I found 100 meters through a well insulated wall and trees works just fine. Note that the earlier versoin of this system is not compatible with the newer version. The newer version has a built in solar panel to charge the remote sensor's battery. This is an advantage for me, because the older version had to be charged using a USB lead every few months. I tried powerbanks and a mini solar panel but these did not work in practice. I am very happy with this new version with solar panel. There are obviously some limitations. The solar panel has to be in sunlight much of the day and the PIR motion sensor has to be pointing at a sensible spot where it will detect cars and people (or the movement of an automatic gate), but not be tricked by tall grass or trees in windy conditions.

Purchased in at Amazon for $120.
