Unimpressed by the life and quality of this one – Had two and half years of minimal use. Upgraded the ram to 32gb after a year of owning. I did like this machine, but after the video started failing and died plus other issues, I would put it in the lemon bin unfortunately. I was very easy on this laptop, not my main machine. Total HDD time active was 936 hours powered total. Cosmetically apart from the cover near the hinges cracked the only other damage is a crack that runs from the edge of the lower case through the middle of the screw at the middle front of the case. So basically looks like new.

I also noticed the blue tooth connectivity became slowly less successful of time to the point of not connecting to a device next to it.

The battery didn't take a long time to become a redundant part and always having to find a power point became normal just after the warranty expired. The power supply became flakey towards the end as well, to the point of dropping out when running, only charging for a few hours, then minutes, just stopping any recharge or supply until unplugged from the laptop and reinserted for another few minutes of use.

The touchpad also started having some strange issues, slowly drifting off to a corner, never knowing which one its going to head for. Would have made an interesting wager.

Build quality is on the low side, after 14 months the screws holding the screen hinges let go when opening and split the top of the case.

So overall scored low, doesn't paint a nice picture for machines that followed....

never again – I bought this computer to replace an ageing DELL computer. What a mistake that was. it spends most of its time updating, Im not sure what, but it goes on and on and on.... I get the blank sceen of death when I turn it on, don't know if its thinking, working or simply deciding is it is going to open or not. Its so slow to boot up, I can boot up and shut down my old DELL 4 times in the time it takes this junk to boot up.

Then everything started going weird, word documents going to symbols, google earth advising me that the graphics card wouldn't support it (even though the day before it did), videos not playing etc etc.

Turns out the radon, or whatever the card is, don't like Windows 10, so its delete and re-boot the drivers.

This may end up being a regular fix from what I've heard.

And its slow, don't try to open more than 2 documents at any time, it has a hissy fit and you can forget linking it to additional monitors, it don't like that either.

In fact there is little I can do that this machine likes, other than turning itself off.

I even spent an entire day updating because it wouldn't do anything else.

I have gone back to the old DELL, until I can afford to buy a new DELL.

I'm seriously thinking of smashing this HP into little tiny pieces and sending it back to HP in the nice new packaging box it came in. At least the packaging is solid.

Not Very Good – I bought this laptop a few weeks ago as my old Toshiba laptop was falling apart after five and a half years. I've found this one to be very slow sometimes. It also restarts itself with no warning sometimes which is very frustrating. And just tonight I closed it for about two minutes. When I opened it again, it was turned off. Completely dead. I tried to restart it but it wouldn't restart at all until I removed the battery and put it back in. You'd expect anything to be an improvement over a laptop that's five and a half years old and falling apart but it's not. If I'd known this new one would frustrate me so much I'd have stuck with my trusty old Toshiba.

Would not recommend buying this one.
