Good Laptop for some things – For web browsing and using Android applications it is amazing however some websites do not work sometimes and are buggy. Other than that it is a good computer and can do everything most people need. Show details
Chromebook !!! Rocks - faster, lighter, convenient and cheaper !!!!!! (HP 14a-na00019TU) – HP 14a-na00019TU is really a magnificent laptop but in Australia the na00020nr version is not available which has back-light keyboard. The na00019TU sold is lacking the back-light option, Bluetooth is paring really quick with headphones but less connecting to smartphone. The Microsoft office app from google play works fine after saving each file.… Read more
Editing has less professional options but for basic tasks like assignments and written documents showed smooth performance.
There are some little Chromebook features and touch pad gestures need to get used to (changing the settings and checking the shortcuts). For online activity the best laptop on a budget for classes, meetings, browsing and movies. The sound quality is decent and best comparing to other options at the price point. Keyboard is softer less hardcore but comfortable to type. The automatic chrome OS updates from Google are valid till July, 2026 (google support for 5 years). Have to redeem 12 months free google one subscription with the 100GB free space (cost $2.49/month after 12 months), also short time you tube premium free and other google perks comes with any Chromebook -

May be frequently require updates followed by restart but is less issue to me as dose not force restart until user choosing to update but showing chrome update notification. Functional camera, somehow. Conveniently, light to carry and hold. Attractive design with quality plastic chassis and 14" screen, acceptable but not ugly at all type bezel. HP also famous for their customer support. Best budget option after and alternative to ASUS.
But still would recommend the HP 14a - na00020nr version with back-light keyboard. Did not notice the exact model (na00019TU) before buying, unfortunately. Extra mention - Extremely, appreciate Google, HP and ASUS for not forgetting students and budget looking persons in 2020 and 2021, thanks a lot.
I was wrong, I apologize, not HP's fault maybe? – Hi Geeks, Well that's not me but I thought I would say hello. My first computer was the Apple 2E , which after a year of feeding it ate my post grad dissertation only 6 weeks from the final submission date -respect. I work for a really big company with vast and competent tech support and we use Chromebooks and I like them. Best features is they… Read more
are vast of memory, fast, light and have batteries that only need charging occasionally. So when my home PC passed over I thought why not.
I have got used to the chrome word and spreadsheet thingie not being as good as the original and its different ways of getting things done at work so why not make the switch at home. I have no more dissertations to put at risk and PhD funding has been cut by the Aussie Tories to keep the population as dumb as possible. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.
Well here is why not to buy a Chromie?
Be advised current less than one year old printer (you know cheap and cheerful thing that seldom gets much use, but for which you have lots of ink) will probably not work on chromebook. You will need to buy a new one at three time the price. Factor that in ($170-$200).
Plug the new HP printer in and it will do most stuff the $70 printer did.
My work chromebook is nearly indestructible. I have had 2 in 5 years and sure the type face falls off a bit ,but the hostile manufacturing environment it lives in ,full of steam, grease, abuse, dropping and muck and every day it cheerfully boosts up for another round - respect.
I have to be honest that I prefer Apple and Windows but the advantages of the Chromebook, never needing maintenance as it has no moving parts, long battery life (Apple sucks power like and ICE addicted long distance bus driver) and well like most things that work hard to do the job, I have grown to feel comfortable with it.
Then 3 months later a warranty claim against split screen back (hardware) and its off to Singapore for two months , the chromebook not me, which is very bad, or so Officeworks said (maybe not true).
Recently I had another problem, (hint, don't let your chromebook run the battery down completely, battery will not recharge), instead of going back to the retailer (Officeworks) I rang the Lenovo service line. No problems/no worries, still in warranty, we will arrange a pick up (free of charge), fix it and return it (free of charge) all done within two weeks. Excellent.
Easy to cary and not heavy – Before I switch to MAC this is the one I have. What I like about this device is that it's easy to handle, fast and light which is really nice to carry specially when you're going on travels or business meetings. It's a laptop that's good for office works and travel, so if you're looking for something like a Macbook type but less the price, hook up with chromebook. Show details
This is perfect! – This laptop is great for on the go, it is so light and portable and easy to use. I would highly recommend this to everyone! It is super quick and fast to boot up, easy to log in to, easy to browse the web and is so super easy to save and send files. All in all it is a very great device. Highly recommended.
