HP DeskJet 3630 Questions & Answers

Mine came up error and number 4 which is paper jammed but the paper wasn’t jammed, had 2 lights flashing in the top right hand corner. Is this what yours is doing?

You can do it one of two ways: If your phone has the air print feature in case of an iPhone or iPad, you should be be able to select it from the application print function. If not, you can download HP's smart printing app from the application store of either Apple or google play store if you are running android.

Thanks that worked getting the hp app but when i try to print it goes thru yhe process but spits out blank paper and i dont know how to tell if the ink cartridges are empty full driedup or what they are inthe printer looks like theyve been used befire by the ink on them but in the display theres no message or flashing things so i dont wanna buy new cartridges not knowing also im yold its cheaper to buy a new printer than ink ,any suggestions ??

First, install the latest drivers depending on the version of Mac OS you are running. I am running Mac OS High Sierra and have no problems with the printer being recognized. Try setting the printer up again. In System Preferences, click on Printers and Scanners icon. Click the + button and follow the prompts from there. If this is unsuccessful, search HP.com for the latest drivers and install them. If you have done this, try unplugging the USB cable or the power cable from the printer and wait for like a minute or so. It should reset itself and plug it back in. This sounds more like a software issue. If you are able to print wirelessly from say your smartphone or tablet, it has to do with the drivers on the computer being out of date or incompatible for your current version of Mac OS.

My printer wont even print at all now it just spits out blank pages and I do have ink remaining. Have purchased a new laser printer now

With more manufacturers offering the latest drivers for anything they sell, you should be able to download these off the manufacturers website no probs. HP offers an easy wizard software program that will install this for you and it should be rocket science.

Hi Corinne. I know I put a bad report about this cheap HP Printer, but my son who is an IT guy, seemed to fix it. But We do not have NBN here yet and I was advised by a Telstra Service advisor NOT to switch to NBN for about another year before the old Copper lines are shut down. They, NBN have a few glitches in the system and it is better to wait until they are sorted out. As far as your HP Printer is concerned connect it via USB rather than WiFi thru your modem!! It may be a problem if you are not directly connected from printer to PC??? NBN should not effect any printer we have connected to our PC's. I am confused too!! The HP 3630 is a cheap printer and does use up a lot of ink in the cartridges. Good luck I do know how you fell. Cheers Phil

Thanks for your help. Yesterday I found that by pressing buttons on the printer. I obtained the instructions needed. Basically I had to get the printer onto settings and insert the IP number of the printer onto the app. The only hitch is that every time I want to print I have to go to settings and press the printer button.

NBN was seemless here and easy to setup the box however we have a fairly new house. Thanks for your tips re my printer.

Yes it is compatible with iPads and smartphones, as long as your phone and iPad had wifi on it then it will work no matter what brand it is, Samsung, iPhone, anything that has a wifi.

I still have my initial ink that the HP DeskJet 3630 came with and only use the printer about once a fortnight. I have not used any toner. I bought it from my local post office and it was on special recently down to $35.00. I paid $50. It is excellent. The only problem I have had is with paper sticking together which is my error, as I buy Reflex paper for it and sometimes I forget to feather it.

Hi, Jano. It depends on how much you use your printer for printing, whether it's in black or colour. With our HP DeskJet 3630, we mostly do printing everyday. Currently, we are using XL ink toners instead of just the normal-sized toners, and the XP toners last about 2 months maximum (average printing: 4 pages per day in black ink). With normal-sized ink toners, they would approx. last about 2-4 weeks (average printing: 4 pages per day). Please keep in mind that all printers may vary in the amount of ink they use/take.

Hi Jano It's realy hard to say. Documents alot. Colors photos not too sweet. I can get tri-colors from JB about NZ $40. The manufacturer sales cheap printer for long term profit by sales inks. If you not use original product may coursing some trouble.I hope this can help your a little.
