The Hinge Broke – Don't buy this laptop because of a serious weakness of the hinge which broke despite very careful handling and low usage of this laptop. This problem is all over the Internet and there is a class action against HP on this. I had to pay SGD80 for the hinge repair. The hinge is plastic and breaks easily. Another problem was the harddrive which failed after a year. Good thing I had 2-year warranty and HP technician came over to swap with a new harddrive.
I trusted HP but it is producing inferior products, so how can I be expected to buy HP again? HP is losing customers like me.

excellent performance and design – I purchased this laptop in 2021 and worked perfectly until the hinge and screen broke! however HP collected it and repaired it with no charge! Excellent service- I had it back in 2 weeks!

Love at first sight and then … – Had my Envy since November 2020 and loved it from day one. I treated it like a raw egg because I was in love. Today, I closed it for lunch break but the upper part did not line up with the base. Opened it up to check and screen pieces fell out. One of the hinges was broken. Searching on hp support site: many, many other people have the same experience! And the result? You have to pay for the repairs yourself! Shame on you hp!

Fast and modern Laptop – Warranty could be longer but speed of the Laptop seems to be great even when fully loading multiple screens and apps. The touchscreen is great when using (or homeschooling) with kids and gaming works beautifully. Programming / compiling, heavy graphics and 3D rendering seems to be no issue for it whatsoever either. Note: My laptop was purchased from eBay seller ENTIQUE and only came with a 1 month warranty since it was refurbished. I ordered without freight tracking or insurance and seller let me know so that I was able to uplift these ($19 AUD for registered and insured) after I had already purchased to ensure no transit risks
There is no inbuilt Ethernet port however > and only 2 x USB-3 ports. This can be an issue if you are not close to good signal WiFi but have an Ethernet cable connection point. On contact with HP Support they weren't aware that they actually MAKE a HP USB to Ethernet hub (until I searched and gave them their own part number!), and they also had no idea whatsoever about the likely throughput of a USB3 versus the USB-C ports on the Laptop when using a Ethernet Hub.
I purchased a USB-3 port for Ethernet hub which yielded around 30m/s, but this was too slow for my needs. Good news is that I then purchased what seems to be a good quality Gigabit USB-C port Ethernet hub (with 3 x USB v3.2 Ports) on it for $35 AUD (I got a brand called simplecom) and connected to the of the USB-C of the Envy which is higher speed then USB-3 and I am getting a constant 80-120 M/s!
Does not seem to overheat like many of the earlier (higher-end) HP Laptop models, so the fan doesn't come on all the time or anything. HP Support Assistant seems to always be on top of latest patches etc under Windows-10. Disconnecting Ethernet and going to WiFi and back as I move around never seems to be an issue either.
Overall I am quite happy with this model and after nearly 2 years the battery seems to still be doing quite well.

Perfect high performance laptop – Perfect laptop with great specs without being a bulky gaming laptop. Purchased for a good graphics card to edit videos as well as have a touch screen that flips into a tablet easy for drawing and art projects. Hp also offers a pen stylus that is compatible with this laptop. Highly reccomend for a higher price point, worth it for the quality. Also great for gaming.
