Two years ago I bought this HP laptop from Harvey Norman. It's started playing up about a year ago. Gradually the problem got worse. The laptop will freeze. I will then shut down and reload windows etc. Recently after doing a full reset and updating all the drivers because of the frequent crashes (Blue screen of deaths), I called up HP. The guy… Read more

answering the call said he knew what the problem was so I took it back to Harvey Norman. After a week, the HN technician told me that HP will need to charge me over $2000 to fix the laptop. I will never, ever buy HP again. My previous Dells lasted ages without any issues. Only updated to newer models when they became outdated.

Horrible – I bought an HP less that 7 months ago. 3 months into using it, the battery is completely unusable. If I remove the power cord, the computer shuts down. When I contacted HP support, they want me to send the computer for 5 to 7 business days - this is my work computer and my livelihood. I cannot afford to not work for 7 business days. I will never in the future buy an HP. Show details

Its OK...just – I got this laptop during sales at JB hifi during sales in November, it can only connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 2.4GHz. cannot connect via Wi-Fi 5GHz and it does not have an Ethernet port. It comes with a 256 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive with Optane memory and 8 gig of ram, but still found it very slow, and replaced it with a 500GB M.2… Read more

PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive and added another 8 gig of Ram, and now doesn't have any Optane memory and now runs so much faster and smother... if I had done more research I would not have got this...but have made it a lot better now. Oh, and for some reason which I have no idea why, but HP product page has removed all download and updates from product page https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15s-fq1000-laptop-pc-series/29322771/model/33529602

WIFI from 2015 and USB-C without power – This laptop only supports WIFI 4 (N wireless), not wifi 5 or 6. Wifi 5 came out in 2013. The USB-C port on it doesn't support video output or charging. Show details

Best laptop and is worth the extra money – Compared to my Acer this is far superior. Purchased it from Harvey Norman for $200 off the RRP Price. Did the required latest 2004 Updates but the laptop graphics, sound and performance was under par. I went onto HP support and downloaded the latest drivers including BIOS latest update. Laptop now performs perfectly and is very responsive. HP are the best for a reason and is perfect for me as I work to perfection Show details

Great laptop - love absolutely everything about it except for sound of typing on keyboard – I purchased this notebook about 2 weeks ago. It's great, super quick, quiet and the screen size and weight is perfect. The only thing I dislike is the keyboard sounds cheap. It is quiet noisy (typing noise, not the actual computer) compared to other keyboards that I currently use, including another notebook. I still would have purchased had I known, but if I could change one thing about it, that would definitely be it. Show details

Great Value - Super Fast – This is by far the fastest laptop I have ever owned as it should be being a 10th gen core i7 but to get one at the price I paid I couldn't be happier. Love the brushed chrome look on the keyboard panel. Easy to start up though there are a couple of surprising omissions. It isn't synched out of the box with Date and Time synch, you have to go into… Read more

the clock settings and enable it. Not sure why they do that. And it doesn't ask you through the boot up process if you want to register your product now or later. I had to go the HP site myself. I already have a HP Officejet printer that is registered so it was relatively easy from there.

No Caps lock or Num Lock illustration on the screen, only the caps lock button has a light on it but I use a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo and after installing all the software for it, it shows caps and num lock on or off on the screen. Even when you use the laptop keyboard the caps and num lock shows on the screen as long as you have the dongle inserted.

Wireless doesn't detect 5Ghz which is very disappointing.

Not a fan of the mouse pad surface which is very rough and noisy when you glide your finger across it. Much prefer the mouse pad on my old Acer which is silky smooth. Luckily it won't be much of an issue for me as I will rarely use the laptops keyboard and mouse pad. But I love the finger scanner just under the Numeric keypad. Makes it so easy to log on.

Overall very happy and suits my needs. I have Office 2019 Pro plus installed and no issues. I don't do gaming so I can't comment on that. Sound quality seems ok.
