Nice modern lounge couch & guest bed – I purchased this slightly used and bought a new cover in a color I really like :) I’ve had it for many many years now. Here’s my take: Pros: Attractive, simple, easy & smooth mechanisms, easy to change from couch to bed (& vice versa). No problems with with tilting when sitting on edge or anything like that. Nice high back, spacious, can use lots… Read more

of pillows. Great for meditation, or to lay on while in couch position, as bottom lays flat. Plenty spacious to for one person to take a nap on when still in couch position. Prob a great couch overall for conversations and to watch TV with family or mates!

Cover is nice, durable, cottony fabric (feels a little like jeans). It’s very comfortable, sturdy and stays in place when sitting on couch. I like how easy it is to put on and take off... and how nice it looks with pillows.

Cons: Mattress is very firm and has a rise where the back meets the bottom half when laid flat. I highly recommend using memory foam for sleeping on it when flat. I placed a second futon on top of mine for long term guests. The bottom portion is a bit big as a couch. I’m 5’4” and when sitting, my legs do not meet floor unless I sit closer to the edge. Pillows or bolsters remedy this, and are needed to for added comfort and support.

Side note: you CAN use regular queen size sheets (with deep sides) to fit this mattress when flat... but expect the fitting to not be perfect. The dimensions of the mattress are different compared to American queen beds.

Literally and figuratively best bang for your buck – Had this sofa bed for years, literally, years. Originally purchased in 2015, it's the mattress that I sleep on night in and night out. If you like a firm mattress and frame that can handle some quality midnight roughhousing and will literally give you all the bang for your buck, this is the purchase for you. No memory foam needed on this bad boy for knocking all the boots. Show details

As a bed very uncomfortable – I understand this must slant gradually for sitting as a sofa but ours was obviously slanting too much as when used as a bed you felt as though you rolled into the middle. IKEA saying no manufacturing fault so now have sofa bed not fit for purpose. We have had one in the past and this wasn't a problem so obviously this is a fault. Not a happy customer.  Show details

The perfect sofa bed – We bought this sofa bed for visiting family while we were living in the U.S. It was so good we shipped it back to N.Z. It was rated highly by our guests as a comfortable double bed. It has been mostly used since as a sofa and it is still as good as when we bought it.  Show details

Simple, Easy And Comfortable – I sleep on one every night and love it. I added a 4" memory foam topper and it's perfect. I am middle aged and overweight and it is very comfortable.  Show details

Does what it's supposed to do – I had this for a number of years so feel competent to write a realistic review. I bought this originally when my mother was visiting and she slept on it for 3 months, without any pains or complaints. FYI, she had around 70kg at the time. The mechanism is reliable and easy to use. If you want to use it as a lounge during a day, the cover is not the… Read more

most convenient to put on every day but for this kind of money it's bearable.

After my mother left, my son (weight:65-70kg) slept on it daily for more than a year. Not only that he never complained, he flatly refused the offer of a new, proper bed! For me, that's good enough.

It hasn't been used much in the last few years, used mostly as my son's wardrobe and a bookshelf in the spare room. Survived one relocation and still looks as good as new.

Used about 40 times now, works really well. Guests and daughter say it's comfortable! – We have an IKEA Beddinge sofa bed in our lounge room for interstate family to use. Including elderly parents. Our teenage daughter has used it for sleep overs too. We bought it as we thought it was the most 'bed like' with a proper innersprung mattress. It's really easy to set up, I do it myself and I'm a little lady. Feedback by daughter and… Read more ·  1

family is it's really comfy and they all have a good night sleep on it. It has a washable cover which I get dry cleaned. As a day sofa, it's quite large so plenty of room for 3 people & cushions. Overall, we're really happy with it.

Didn't even dare to buy it! – We read some reviews on other websites praising this sofa bed, so we decided to get one as my parents were visiting soon and we did not have a guest bed yet. So, we went to ikea's showroom just to try it out and to make sure it was as great as we heard before we buy it. The converting mechanism is easy and smart, I have to say. But, the REALLY… Read more

BIG PROBLEM that no one ever mentioned is in the bed setting: the bed trips over if you sit on its edge!!!!! Because when the sofa is straightened to a bed, part of it goes beyond the front legs, which makes it prone to trip over if you sit on the edge. The worst scenario--God forbid-- is when someone wants to get up from the bed with their leg under this part. This could cause serious injury!

One more thing, the sofa looked so dry and stiff (before converting it to a bed), We thought it may be because in the photos they usually add cute cushions that make it look better (which may be the case anyway). Nevertheless, the appearance is the least of its problems.

Horrible!!! Do Not Purchase!!! – I have had it now for about 6 weeks, legit first week I got in the wooden pieces that held up the bed kept falling and sinking the bed, I thought maybe I didn't put the pieces in properly so I put the pieces back in noticing that the plastic pieces that the wood goes into 50% are damaged, anyways I put all the wooden pieces back and as soon as I sat on this stupid sofa a piece of wood falls out...I'm very annoyed heading to ikea tomorrow!!!  Show details

Broke in a month – Same experience. .. it broke in one month. What a terrible waste. We kept the mattress though. The cats love it. But if you are willing to buy a real sofa bed, avoid ikea.

It sucks – In less then a week it broke from sleeping on it and sitting on and we only slept on it twice but it broke where it grabs to make it a sofa so you can't sit on that side so we will have to return it and get another but maybe a different one.

Quality far from being good – After being used for a short period of time, the bed frame goes into V shape, meaning that sleeping on it, you roll towards the middle. After taking the matter with Ikea, I was told it's a common thing with their sofa beds, so keep it in mind. The mattress, even though it is being advertised for every night use, clearly it is not. Having used it… Read more

for for not even 5 months it is already misshaped, something I could expect if it was shy of two years. In general, as far as the quality of build is in question I would not advise anyone to buy this as a sofa bed, especially as Ikea is aware of the issues but takes no responsibility after purchase.
