Terrible Quality – This is our 2nd Ilve 80cm Oven. We only got the 2nd one because unbeknown to us Ilve are the only people who make an 80cm. The first oven limped along with continually having repairs done. Oven seal replaced twice (not to mention discoloration on my kitchen cupboards from heat escaping). We have had numberous electrical faults andI cannot count… Read more
the number of times I have had to replace the light, and now I cook in the dark. The pictures on the dials fade off within a couple of months and then you are also cooking blind. Our New oven of just over 3 years has just blown up (literally). It hasn't had a functioning seal, light or display pictures for about 3 years.
I am now changing companies altogether and am willing to amend my kitchen layout to fit another size so I don't have to use Ilve again
Horrible Oven, won't ever purchase Ilve products again – We purchased the Ilve Q series 800 WMP 5 years ago and have nothing but trouble with it. I dislike it that much that I'm considering replacing it before it literally dies on me. Within 12 months we have to get an electrician out to fix it and he said the wiring in it was dodgy to begin with. It kept shorting out our switch. The light globe has… Read more
blown several times, I recently just replaced yet another one and it blew the first time it was switched on. The catalytic cleaning function doesn't work how the book says. We phoned Ilve when we first had trouble and they were very unhelpful. Took me 4 months to get someone to contact me and 6 to get it fixed. Food cooks ok most of the time. Rotisserie is great if you don't want to cook anything like veges at the same time. Temp control I find is quite hot and food burns easily. But then things don't cook properly either. When cooking pizza, gets very smoky and sets off smoke alarms every time. Yet the oven is clean and the pizza is far from burnt.
Lots of problems – My Ilve 800WMP/1 is 8 years old and the door hinge has broken again for the third time. This time the internal bracket is broken as well and the door only opens 3/4 of the way. Yesterday the glass on the door has broken away so now I can't use oven at all. Very disappointed.
Absolutely dreadful oven – I have been very faithful to my Ilve wall oven, which I've owned for about 7 years. However, disappointingly, I have spent almost as much as a replacement having the door mended on three occasions. It has now broken YET AGAIN. Seems this is a well-known flaw in the design.
Looks great but poor quality – We have one of an Ilve ovens and hot plates poor quality had to replace hot plates after 3 years and new one is already falling apart. The oven is hard to clean, heat escapes at top and discolours the kitchen cabinets. Oven light continually blows, door seal last less than 6 months the markings on controls wear off quickly so hard to adjust. Very disappointed in product. Looks good when new Poor quality and inefficient operation.
Excellent – Very Happy with my purchase. i love the size of my oven and the cook top. I have the Tepanyaki plate, which always me to cook lots of food at the same time without much oil. Go to the showroom before you buy as there range is very big. Great commercial construction. Different cooking functions ensures I can cook what I like and get the look… Read more
and texture I want.
I love my ILVE! If you chose a coloured oven, I believe the wait can be about 16 weeks, but i chose a Stainless Steel oven, which was only 3 days to be sent from their head office.
Don't buy this, it is all looks and no quality – We bought the 110L 800wmp electric Ilve oven. It was meant to be a purchase that would last us 15 to 20 years - due to the high price tag and the stylish looks, a product you could build your kitchen around. After 3 months the cooking racks started to rust, I had a few replaced but now these also appear rusty. Now we are at 5 years and I turned… Read more
it on one night and it was heating up nicely then it just stopped and the power went off. After investigating (cheking our power point etc.) we removed the back to find burnt out wires, burnt metal on the inside and some of the insulation was also brown from being burnt.
I am not sure if this was a fire risk? But I am not happy after spending $2500 now I have called a company (not ilve) in to look at it and i have the feeling I could be up for many hundreds of dollars to get it working again. Another friend also said she knew someone that had bought and Ilve oven and it is all rusting. I will not ever buy Italian again (unless it is a leather hand bag). Looks pretty, cooks quite well. Poor quality manufacturing, over hyped advertising for a very dissapointing product.
Mine is now 8yrs old. Most of the small connecting bits of metal are mild steel and now rusted… Read more (+1 reply)
