Products are reliable I have very good experience with infa group Show reply
Spacious and comfortable – I had a Maxi Cosi baby capsule and my newborn baby wasn't looking comfortable as it was too tight, so I bought this one Momentum Onyx. There is a good amount of space at the bottom and I can easily slide him in and out and he feels comfortable. The only thing about this which made me hesitant to give 5 stars is the button that loosen the shoulder… Read more · 1
straps, the button is in an inconvenient location and even with releasing it, the straps can't be pulled easily. I wish there was a more user friendly way to do this. But overall, I'm happy and I would recommend it. Note that I bought this when it was on black friday discount, hence I put "excellent" for value for money

An excellent car seat! – After installing this child safety seat, I buckled in my 2-year-old daughter and asked if she liked it. She replied, “oooo yeeeah!” That’s good enough for me! Haha. For comparison, I’ve been using the Mothers Choice Ascend 0-8 years Convertible Car Seat for about 18 months. It retails for around $800 and is a great car seat in its own right.… Read more · 1
However, the InfaSecure Momentum Onyx is just better for my two-year-old.
I can’t comment on its suitability for newborns or infants yet, as our little one is still on the way. So, this review is more for those with toddlers. But, the seat can be installed rear-facing and in a semi-lying position, which is convenient for newborns. But my review is based on using it forward-facing with my 2-year-old.
Compared to our Mothers Choice car seat, the InfaSecure Momentum Onyx is lighter but still robust, more compact yet roomy enough for my little angel. It gives her about 4 inches more legroom, which means she’s no longer kicking the back of the passenger seat! Plus, it makes putting her in and getting her out much easier, especially for my petite wife.
It has handy holsters on the side walls to park the belt clips, keeping the seatbelts open. This underrated feature makes it quicker to get her strapped in, with no more hassle of pulling the seatbelts from behind her (something my Mothers Choice car seat lacks).
Installation-wise, I’ve installed four types of child seats over the past couple of years in three different cars. It took me less than 10 minutes, and the process was similar. However, the internal cavity where you feed the seatbelt in the InfaSecure Momentum Onyx is much better than in my Mothers Choice seat, as there’s more space. I do recommend getting a professional to do this, as it can be a bit tricky. I believe Baby Bunting offers this service.
The build quality is very good and feels sturdy, with quality materials. The fabric and cushioning are of a good standard too. It also has excellent head-side walls to protect from side impacts. As for cleaning, I’m not sure yet, but I believe the cover can be removed and washed in a machine. I’ll update my review in the coming months. Overall, I’m very happy with this product. It’s exceptionally good, which in writing, has made me realise that my Mothers Choice car seat isn’t as good as I'd thought.
To finish, I would happily recommend this to others for their little ones. Even over the Britax Car capsule and Mothers Choice Ascend. It’s just better!
Its great so far – We got this carseat to try in December 2024 and so far are loving it. The pros: - It's not too big that it doesn't fit nicely in our Audi q5 car. - The fabrics are lovely and soft because its bamboo and is also moisture wicking which is helpful for sweaty babies or those living in the warmer areas. It also feels durable without feeling cheap… Read more · 1
and synthetic. - It goes from age 0-4yrs. This saves us wasting money on a capsule that may get used for possibly 5ish months before needing to then fork out more money for a proper car seat. This just allows us to rotate the seat eventually and continue using it. Something which I really appreciate in these harsh economic times. - The built in side impact is extremely good at easing my mind, its not minimal either, its really there and obvious that it would protect a tiny one in the event of a crash. It also acts as a good head rest for when they're that bit older and fall asleep in their seat. -Its very reassuring that Infa Group child restraints are the First & Only Australian Child Restraint brand to be successfully and independently assessed as meeting safety best practice. - I love that it's Aussie owned and operated. - ISOFiX is super handy and helpful and allows for easy installation and removal should you need to swap the seat to another car. It's also another safety feature I wouldn't want to be without in a carseat. -The way the seat reclines back allows for an extended rear facing time which is absolutely the safest way for a child to travel but it also suits taller babies. - The carseat iself isn't overly heavy unlike others. Made it a lot easier to get into the car and saved our backs considerably. But yet it doesn't look or feel cheap in any way. - Its not too wide that it prevents having 3 kids across the back seat of a car. This is something we really had to consider with both cars and seats as upgrading the car really isn't something we want to do at this point in time. - We aren't at that stage yet, but just having a play around with it before we put it into the car it is very easy to adjust (It has 10 head rest positions to allow for the best fit for your child) and easily marked to work out how to do so without having to read a 300 page instruction manual to work out how. - The recilneability will surely come in handy as our baby grows as well.
Cons: None that we can find at the moment, but perhaps going forward other colours might be nice to see.
Happy toddler in this seat – Overall this isn't a bad option for a mid-range, mid-price point car seat. We have Britax as our other car seat, which is more in the higher range. With that said, we feel it did well and we had no major issues with anything. It looks very stylish, padded and compact. We did have our toddler fall asleep in it many times so that's some indication… Read more · 1
of comfort!
Pros: - stylish black cover - fairly compact - comfortable cushioning - removable cover and cushion for easy washing - padded seatbelt cover for shoulders and buckle area - comes with a small seat protector to install under the capsule and protect car seat - has isofix tension indicator which is handy. Red if not tight enough / Green is in and under correct tension.
Cons: - no button for easy release of seatbelt. It has a small release lever which was difficult to use at times. - tightening the belts can be a struggle and it requires a very hard to pull needed to tighten sometimes. This may only be the case as it's new. But you get that feeling that the belts in the back of the capsule may be miss aligned or under different degrees tension. - car seat seems to have my child on more of a slant leaning back. This may be adjustable but it was different from other modules. - the capsule's base seems wider than other capsules making connecting the isofix a bit more of a challenge and awkward to install.
But once in, it's fine and feels very secure. Great value for the price.
A great all rounder with some cool features and longevity – This car seat replaces Britax capsule one we’ve had since our little one was a newborn and it’s definitely a nicer feel with the materials and looks great. The best thing is that it is slimline as we have a small SUV so leaves more room for passengers in the back seats. The seat was easily installed as it is isofix compatible, great for a sleep… Read more · 1
deprived parent!
The headrest is easy to adjust and we love the adjustable recline, something we didn’t have in the previous car seat which makes it much more comfy for the little one, especially when he nods off so that his head doesn’t tilt forward.
We didn’t use the insert as little one is 10 months but could see that it would be useful for smaller babies. All in all very happy with the move from the old car seat to this one, I can already tell our little one agrees!
A relief giving this seat is able to switch from rear facing to front facing when his legs are a little bigger and it’s supposed to last until he is four years old.
It also comes with a 10 year warranty on the seat shell and a 1 year warranty on the fabrics.
Great for baby & toddler – I have these for my 9month old and 22month old. I love this because they are slim line. We have a Ute and a medium suv so I wanted seats that don’t take up much spaces. Kids love them and really comfortable for naps while driving. Easy to take in and out between cars. Show details · 1
