Never ever buy anything that is Jen-Air!!! – It is the worst ever fridge I came across in my life. Over the past 8 years it required 16 repairs. Leaking valves, blocked water pipes, ice maker breakdowns, etc. but most commonly it is PCB Board Assembly and Damper Control, breakdowns, which needed replacement 6 (sic!) times! To add the insult to the injury there is a problem to find Jen-Air… Read more

representative in Australia. Sampford washed off their hands and stopped providing service few years ago and Whirlpool took over, now Whirlpool also washed their hands off and when asked who is the current Australian representative for Jen-Air products they answer there is no Jen-Air representative! Never ever buy anything that is JEN-AIR!!!

My fantastic fridge/freezer! – My Jenn Air I have had for over 15 years. It has only had one repair and that was to the inlet leaking hose for the icemaker; and only after 10 years at that. I contacted the retail outlet where it was purchased all that time ago and a very decent fridge mechanic came and repaired my fridge for under $200. Here it is 5 years later and still… Read more

running beautifully. I am very happy with my fridge/freezer. I would like to know where I can purchase some glass shelves, a new sealed crisper and the plastic cover for the water/ice dispenser. Due to wear and tear only, these items could be replaced in the future.

Maintains perfect temperature, very quiet always, and very easy to clean.

Terrible – Great looking fridge but that is it !! Terrible. I lost so much food with the fridge section as it kept freezing like the freezer consistently, finally got rid of it, would never touch the brand again made in America the parts are expensive, you won't get parts under $100. Keep right away from this brand and buy a reliable Kelvinator, Westinghouse

Flooded – Purchased Jennair fridge in 2009, since then the washer from the water tap that feeds water into the fridge to make ice and water snapped and water flooded our kitchen, dining room and 2 bedrooms. significant damage, wooden floors boards needed replacing along with woollen Hali rugs. We moved out for 3 months while repairs were done. Four months… Read more

later found water leakage under the fridge again. This time connection of spaghetii line into fridge was leaking. 'New' wooden floor boards are cupping and now we are faced with another replacement.

I am so dissappointed with this product as it was very expensive and at the time of purchase a spectacular reputation. I will never buy a Jennair fridge again. I should have stuck with the old Fisher and Paykel

Disappointed – I bought my Jenn Air fridge purely on looks alone. I loved the fully integrated doors. The compressor failed after about 5 years and a new compressor was fitted , under warranty. Now, after 10 years I have a pipe blockage. I am told that the repair will cost between $1600-$1800! The parts warranty on the work will be 12 mths! That information… Read more

added to what I have learnt from reading these reviews has convinced me to buy a new fridge. I didn't want to do that, as the look aft the fridge is great. Jenn Air are no longer available in Australia.......no wonder, as THER does not appear to be many happy customers

Jenn-Air – Marvellous, i have had it for 10 years and the technician who fixed the water pipe (i had added it later) told me to never replace the refrigerator - if possible. I considered replacing it only because it is larger than i need. it keeps freezer food really cold and the the refrigerator is perfect too.

Piece of trash – This is my second review for this product. My fridge just died. It is the 2nd fridge that the company replaced after the 1 st one gave me so much trouble. This one didn't even last 2 good years. It is a piece of trash. Do not go on looks. Waste of my money. I would not give it any stars

Do not buy a Jenn-Air – Purchased a Jenn-Air in July '06 following kitchen renovations and it fitted the new look well. It cost $4,675 and so thought it would do the job. Wrong!!! The ice maker broke down in November '10 and again now September '11. And wouldn't you believe it - 41 days out of warranty. The agent, Whirlpool, couldn't care less. I will take legal action… Read more

because the fridge does not reliably do what is intended.

Compressor was replaced in July '10 after a week with the technician trying to decide what the problem was.

Crisper bin track has broken, light globe in the ice/water dispencer section blows out every 6 weeks (I now don't worry about a globe),the water filter had to be replaced ater 12 months at $100. Looked good Unreliable in so many ways

Good – Initially expensive at just over $4000 in 2001. The fridge has been reliable having never broken-down and has not been turned-off in 10 years. It still makes ice in an incredible 20 minutes! Unlike most other reviews we've a great experience with our Jennair. Jim Looks good. The fridge has been nearly trouble-free for 10 years. Keeps food in… Read more ·  1

the different sections well and the shelves are easy to adjust when wine bottle demand is high. The crushed ice dispenser does try to throw the ice on the floor. The water dispenser shut-off often doesn't. In ten years we've replaced one light-globe, the ice dispenser motor drive gear and replaced filters etc twice. Not really a criticism.

Second time still unlucky – We bought our first Jenn-Air back in late 2003 after numerous problems with it, Sampford replaced the fridge. We though 'beauty' first one was a lemon this time better luck. When we received the replacement we noticed that although it was the same model number, the specs were different. The current one being smaller. No way was this one better in… Read more

fact this second fridge is just as bad if not worse. Within the first 9 months there was a short circuit in the freezer section, which got repaired along with other bits and pieces. Since then we have had another 3 call outs, the latest one just recently, we are still waiting to what customer service will decide to do this time. Like everyone else we were told this was an excellent fridge and given the price stupidly thought you get what you pay for. How wrong we were, both fridges have cost us a small fortune, in wasted of food due the freezer defrosting and once actually heating the unit rather than cooling it. Not to mention the damage done to a timber floor and the time it takes to get the parts. We are so over this fridge and all its problems. The ice-maker when it works otherwise nothing.

Terrible – This is the worst of the worst. I bought it brand new and when it was 3 days old it stopped working and has never worked more than 3 days in a row since. I have spent dozens of hours being shuffled around from department to department to no avail. The service rep told me to "join the bus". It would take him a week to come out and then a week to… Read more

order the part and then another week to come back. This is after 3 service calls and no working fridge since buying it 2 months earlier. Buy anything other than this piece of junk, Absolutely nothing The longest it worked was for 3 days since new.

Terrible – Whirlpool have taken over from Samford IXL and only use 1 company (Platinium Appliance Service) who bullied my babysiter into signing an invoice for an inline water kit. This was despite Samford IXL, Whirlpool, and even Platinium advising me to have my warranty paperwork available. I have had most of the usual problems - compressors fail 3… Read more

times, ice stations, leaks. We are actually looking forward to the warranty expiring in September 2010!

Would never touch jenn-air and have no idea how they stay in business. Does any one know a good brand as I read that maytag come from the same factory? Nothing Only ticked 1 star because no option to tick zero Frequently breaks down and the service is atrocious

Terrible – For $6,000 we have had nothing but problems with this fridge. We are now on our 5th issue and have been without a fridge for 4 weeks. The parts take forever and no one know what is really wrong with the fridge - it's all trial and error. You get the run around from the Westinghouse call centre in Malaysia and when you track someone down in… Read more

Melbourne they cannot understand why you are not happy with their service or product. If you need a nice stainless steel cupboard let me know as we have one going cheap!! .......thinking hard but cannot think of any ...where do I start. Terrible – Do not waste your money. This fridge is at least twice the price of other more reliable appliances and experienced appliance service people are themselves frustrated by. The JcJs22 is an attractive fridge with many features. Our experience with the unit we purchased has been very frustrating. It arrived with a damaged coverplate on the drink… Read more

dispenser and we waited 12months for the repair which fell off the fridge shortly before the drink dispenser stopped working. We also have a fridge that iced up and a freezer door that opens when the fridge door is closed. Now nearly 2 years later the fridge and drink dispenser work the cover plate stays on but does not fit and we keep the freezer door shut with a box.

Terrible – I would never buy another Jenn Air ( or related) product. All show, no performance. Must have cost a fortune having it continuously serviced under warranty. Local sevice people at Noosa did not have a clue, though they spent many hours fiddling. Now I see why the fridge is so expensive; 50% of what it costs is to cover the warranty issues. … Read more

Sampford washed their hand of the problem by passing/offloading the business on to Whirpool. Whirlpool had NO record of my purchase etc when I called for warranty ( calls go to the Phillipines). After sending email copies of invoices etc to the Phillipines, I finally got some action under the residual warranty. Now it is out of warranty and it has stopped working altogether. I am going shopping for another brand ( my latest service guy likes Whirlpool). Looks good. That is the sum total of the pros. Expensive ( but unfortunately I wrongly supposed that this meant quality).

Breaks down and freezes up. Samford ( importers) was very nice on the phone but local repairers useless.

Terrible – Do not ever buy a Jenn Air fridge! They are a complete rip off for the price and only attempt to provide service when threatened with legal action Looks good. Terrible – This fridge worked well for three years, then the power supply (a small part) failed. This is a common fault, according to the service technician. Sampford IXL supplied the fridge but now cannot supply parts. Parts are available in the USA. We asked for the part to be couriered at our cost but Sampford IXL refused. Sampford IXL cannot confirm if the part will ever be available. Large, Looks great CAN'T GET PARTS IN AUSTRALIA

Terrible – all the problems associated with this product, including the company selling the product (Sampford IXL) and the Sydney repair company. Far too many problems with each of 3. company under the sun. It came back scratched with damage to side and back panels. Then started leaking water through dispenser. Syd repair co came 4 times to look at it; couldn't find anything wrong. Threatened Sampford with legal action. Only then they offered to full refund. Dont buy any Jenn Air product. Dont buy anything from Sampford IXL. Dont ever ever use Sydney Home Appliance Centre. absolutely none custom made panels to match kitchen cupboards

Terrible – Would not recommend this product to my worst enemy. Is way to noisy for any open plan room. Can't wait for it to finally die, it won't be far away given its record, so I can get a real fridge. It looks OK, double door confirguration is good. Its had 5 service calls in 2 years, its very noisy and parts take up to 6 weeks, was grossly overpriced for the product.

Terrible – Overpriced, riddled with issues and hopeless after sales support in Brisbane. fitted the custom space in the kitchen of the house we bought. The previous owners had a JennAir. Bought this end of 2003 and have had no less than 4 service calls on it in that time. The refrigerator iced up from about the word go for no reason despite all controls being set exactly to specs. TWICE the service techs came out and defrosted the ice (I could have done that!) and said that we must have been leaving the door ajar. Umm...despite Jennair installing the unit with a slight back tilt so it was near impossible to leave the door ajar. The third call they finally figured out that the fridge was missing some baffling around the filter (up inside the roof of the fridge), which was letting warm air into the cabinet and causing it to work overtime and thus ice up. I now have dodgy foam pieces jammed in around the filter. Nice that I took numerous days off work, spent hours defrosting my $4000 appliance to discover it wasn't my children to blame after all!

Then the fun began with the icemaker. It started dispensing ice instead of water and vice versa, would sometimes crush and sometimes not. The lights would flash randomly and then stop. Techs came out again and replaced the electrics but in the process have damaged the front fascia panel(there are cracks in the control panel which they claim they didn't cause during the repair. Guess what...must have been my children again! Never mind that I know that the fascia panel was intact prior to the repair...). We are still "talking" to them about this.

All of this work was done under warranty. Now its out of warranty and yep the icemaker has died. Wont make any ice, but we still get water. I am taking a deep breath before I call a new repairer (at least I don't have to deal with the warranty people any more. And just as a final note...this fridge has been through no less than 8 light bulbs for the icedispenser in 5 years. Does that seem weird? I have lamps and overhead lights that I have only replaced once or maybe not at all in that time. I would SO NOT buy this for $4000...

Terrible – purchased in 2003 must have been a bad year. Intermittently the refrigerator iced up, or ran with condensation, the… Read more

freezer wouldn't freeze, the ice machine wouldnt work, or work intermittently, so we had a bucket of frozen ice in the door shelves. before christmas, just as the fridge was about to go out of its 5 year warrenty fortunately, things got really bad, had to toss out frozen goods as wernt sure for how long they had been unfrozen. The Stamford IXL people in Melbourne have been very nice - but repairers in Sydney can't fix the problem we had 3 call outs, 4 if we count the 1st repair company, numerous time off work for me, the fault light would go on and blink at me the alarm sound beep beep beep. the temperature gauge would indicate there was something wrong with the temperature. Didn't need that I could tell something was wrong as the peas wern't frozen and the fridge wasn't cold! Enough ws enough I asked them to take it to the repair shop and fix it, because they would change something and say it was fixed and then I would find a problem again and it wasn't, so more time would be needed to be off work. Its been gone now for 3 months and till can't be fixed till possibly end of April. 5 months without a fridge is a long time! i would not buy one like this again too expensive A friend bought a Westinghouse similar features and it is fine, waiting to see if it passes the 4,5 year just about to run out of warrenty test. Looks good fites the space - as you would expect as we had the kitchen built around it. now there is a hugh hole in the cupboard space as the fridge is out for repair and has been for 3 months!

Terrible – Bought the fridge in 2003 like many others here and have been waiting on a part which has been replaced before. fridges in here anymore (little surprise there!) because of the problems they have with them. Sampford & Staff not offering any compensation of the people without a fridge for months on end. Highly recommend reconsidering purchasing any fridge associated with Whirlpool, Maytag, Jennair or Amana as they are all manufactured in the same way! It does a good job 80% of the time - the rest it doesn't work! CANT GET PARTS FOR IT!!!!!
