Whole Systems relies on one little Pin – I have just returned from a 5 day backpacking hike and am disappointed with this item. It was the first time it had been used remotely. The whole systems jointing mechanism relies on one single pin! It is the single source of failure for this Jetboil. This ‘pin’ did not stay securely in place when attaching the pot to burner and the burner to gas canister. It discarded 3 times, flinging to the ground. Fortunately I was able to find the pin in the bush each time (luckily!!) and was able to re assemble it to some level of in-optimal function. Luckily my colleague had glasses to be able to see the tiny holes, and was able to place the pin back in its place!

However due to the insecurity of the pin it was not possible to securely twist the pot on or off the burner without the ‘pin’ discharging, making cooking dangerous!

To have a whole cooking system reliant one unsecured ‘small pin’ is far from optimal. I also found the construction of the burner part of the Jetboil incredibly ‘flimsy’. In fact cheap looking!.

Also the auto ignition switch was intermittent to say the least! I suggest you have a backup i.e. matches or cigarette lighter on hand.

In my mind Obviously the price you pay does not necessarily indicate the quality. I found this failure incredibly disappointing for a $200 + purchase.

I am yet to see what occurs the 12 warranty offered. I am hoping this is just a faulty one and not all are the same….

Purchased in at Tentworld Online store for $192.

Ok when working but spare parts to expensive – it worked for a few years, always well looked after, not that it was used all that much probably 50 boils The gas valve failed ( no gas flow ) and the replacement part is more that half a whole new minimo, fairly disappointed it’s probably better to buy a whole new unit get warranty and have spare parts But I’ll definitely look at alternatives not happy with its longevity and cost to repair

Purchased in at Anaconda.

Jetboil Minimo works everytime – I purchased this for hiking, but found once I went on car camping trips I was using this little master all the time, this minimo works even when the temp dropped down -1°c whereas those camping stoves won't work in 6°c. So if you like a hot cup of coffee or a hot meal at camp you can guarantee this will work when theres wet fire wood or no wood to burn. Slap it in your backpack or your fishing bag and never have to go back to camp for food or a hot drink. Buy it try it and you'll love it.
