Winning product ! – Of course I was sceptical of any store bought colour remover but after reading positive reviews I wanted to try and remove my chocolate brown box colour . I am a natural red head and hadnt lightened my hair previously . I followed the directions to the letter and although i have short hair I decided I would do the initial rinse for 15 minutes as I was worried about feedback on the smell of the product. It does smell a bit like rotten egg but I found it no worse than anything I'd smelt at the hairdresser in the past . The product removed the colour and left me with my natural colour and I found the condition of the hair actually quite soft as it had a hairspray buildup that was also stripped out . I would 100% recommend this product but definately advise to rinse for at least 15 minutes and read all the information before you begin #superhappy
Didn’t work – I have used colour before a few times over the years and have always had amazing results however last night I decided to remove my black dye again having last dyed my hair black about 3 months ago and used the same dye I always use. I left the colour before on for 60 mins and did all the correct washing stages, when rinsing my hair no colour could be seen leaving my hair usually I see the water rinsing a different colour. My hair is literally still black no colour left my hair at all. Is it possible it’s out of date and didn’t work for this reason? I am a little upset as I now have to go out and buy another in the attempt to lift it again
Amazing! Got rid of my red box dye – Amazing product. I have been dying my hair for years with the most recent colour being red. I needed 2 boxes but it was more than enough to cover my hair thoroughly. After I applied it I put my hair in a white bin liner as I didn’t have cling film and sat in front of a heated fan for the entire hour (could also use a hair dryer to heat it up). Washed it off and every bit of red came off. Show details
Best colour remover out there – First photo is my hair after, second is my hair before. The best colour remover I've ever used. Removed 4 years of black permanent hair dye and got me back to my natural colour. Only colour remover I would ever use! Only needed 1 bottle for my hair. Show details
Great but not amazing – I normally don't write reviews but felt like there wasn't many out there regarding asian hair (naturally dark brown black) and dyed red to box dye black... I used this for the first time with not much hope as I wasn't expecting a miracle however I am pleasantly surprised at how well it lifted the black dye. Please note I dyed my hair jet black in… Read more
September 2019 and have not touched it since. The dyed areas are now a beautiful light brown colour with my roots untouched (natural hair). Make sure you follow the instructions and rinse thoroughly!!! I would definitely recommend this product as it only cost me £4.99 from semi chem

THIS IS AWFUL. DONT BUY – So I was very hopeful that this would help to remove the last bit of dye, that was stubborn and stuck! I thought a non bleach option was the best (I don't want to hurt my hair!) the first thing I noticed is this smells like old man farts. It reeks it's disgusting but I opened a window and sucked it up. The first thing is that it is a LOT of… Read more
washing, rinsing, buffering etc. it's a lot of work. During the rinsing process i noticed my blondey/brown was popping through a bit, I was excited. I finished rinsing and it seems after using the component C my hair went GINGER. bright orange, I don't know how or why, but it did not do what it said on the box. It did not warn this, the hair dye used did not contain peroxide, so the 'warm' colour warned about peroxide colours does not apply here.
This product stinks, and it will probably make your hair an odd colour. Waste of money would not recommend.
absolutely the best – I made comparing with another (far more expensive) product from Wella.... The winner is Jobaz!!!!! see comparative photos of how much hair color these products pulls......Jobaz lightened far more than Wella! Show details
Did what it says – Product lifted the majority of copper, brown and red from my hair. I didn't put it on my roots as they didn't need colour removed. See pictures. Lifted better than expected, I'm a dirty fair colour naturally but have had blonde highlights for 10 + years and then a copper blend. Happy with results I used a dark Ash blonde all over afterwards which worked well. Show details

Do not buy this product!!! – Please do not buy this product !!! what it says it does is not true it has left my hair in a terrible condition and don’t even get me started on the colour it had left my roots. Bought a L’Oréal Natural dark blonde box dye which was a little darker compared to my natural blonde colour and for some reason the dye had turned my roots ginger so when… Read more
reviewing the best hair colour removers Jobaz hair colour remover was the best one to buy ! SO NOT TRUE !!!! When applying it the product to my hair it instantly turned my roots a brassy Cooper aswell as my whole head when on the box it clearly states that it removes the permanent hair dye from your hair and restores your natural hair back without any damage as well as it removes darker shade which I said above , lot of crap! I had high hopes for this product to give me back my natural hair colour because of the reviews I read and it left my hair in some state I can’t even describe to you I’ve left a picture of the way it left my hair. I was in tears for hours at the fact my hair was ruined so please take my advise and do not buy this product
Fantastic results – I'm so happy I came across this product. I was in semichem looking for hair dye not knowing this even existed. I've got dark brown hair but have been dying it for years as have lots of greys sneaking in. I dye it about every 6 to 8 weeks. I have psoriasis on my scalp so the medicated shampoo I use tends to duĺlen my colour quite fast. For a long… Read more
time, the ends of my hair have been dry, rough and make my sleep bob quite bulbous. Little did I know its because of the use of permanent dyes over the years. So, I read the instructions a couple of times and pasted on this product. I wrapped clingfilm and a towel round my head, closed all windows so no draughts and let it work its magic for an hour. It's pretty stinky, but absolutely bearable in the grand scale of things. I had a baby 5 months ago and my hair is still majorly falling out. When I started washing out the product, the hair in my hand was a lovely Auburny colour. I rinsed, rinsed, rinsed and did the buffering stages. As it says in the instructions, the molecules are still present in the hair at this stage, so if you skimp on the rinsing, the old dye won't be washed out - I'd say this is the reason why folk on here are giving bad reviews and claiming it didn't work. I struggled to get a comb through my hair when I went to dry it but think that's because I normally use conditioner and detangler. Ironically, even though all the old dye has been washed out of my hair, the greys are actually less noticeable because my hair is lighter, and super shiny. I had bought a chestnut brown permanent dye to put on afterwards but read that you should only use a semi permanent afterwards, or else hair will return it's dark colour again as shafts are porous and more absorbent. I actually really like my new hair colour anyway so will live with the greys for now, and my scalp seems to be better and my hair doesn't seem to be falling out as rapidly as it was.
Really worked so well – Hi there friends so just some tips, I previously had bleached blonde hair which was a shade of ash blonde to be exactly L’Oréal lightest ash blonde hair dye I think it was called, I went from very light ash blonde to what I thought was going to be a nice dark brown, big mistake. The colour came out almost black and I made a mistake, I gave the… Read more
hair colour a chance to fade for about two months before making another mistake lol. It faded and so I put a light brown hair dye over the top for some reason thinking my hair would be the light brown shade I originally wanted mistake . So I went ahead and purchased jo baz, I have used this product soooo many times and every time it works without fail!
Here are some hot tips to ensure it works for you, some people have written the hair had gone darker or nothing happened, you need to ensure your follow the instructions strictly. What I did was I put the product through combed it through, wrapped it in glad rap and I actually made a bed on the floor and used my floor heater ( that blows hot air) and lyed there for an hour. Not only does the heat HELP to remove the colour faster but the end result after 15 minutes of rinsing and using the buffer - my hair had turned a medium blonde. Use heat! A blow dryer or something trust me. It works better.
Now I can start again and go the right colour because it’s completely stripped me back to two months ago.
Positive reviews
Better than other brands I used – It really strips out semis and even permanent colours out. I had used this multiple times in the past when ever I wanted to go few shades lighter. Sadly they don’t sell JoBaz in Sydney anymore for some reason :( so I used the Scott Cornwall brand and did nothing and just wasted money on it. So I would recommend this to anyone but the only downside is just the smell. Show details
Very gentle on hair – The smell is over exaggerated. It has no horrible smell like ones say. It definitely removes colour from hair. I left it in for the full 60 minutes. I was so surprised. I recommend try it. It can’t hurt you. And make up your own mind. You have nothing to lose. I have almost waste length hair so used two boxes. Show details

Worked for me – I used colour before at twice the price of this one and guess what...this one does the same job and the smell is less pungent than colour before as that one was unbearable. My hair was dark brown and I'm now a nice shade of gingery red. I actually love my new hair. Highly recommended.
Negative reviews
Pretty good but now I'm ginger – Put black box on, I have short hair. Didn't want the black anymore but didn't want to Bleach yet. Used this product, was dubious. Followed the instructions, it stinks. However, I did what I was told, now instead of having jet black hair, I now have a dark copper. It's an improvement as I wasn't sure it was going to work. Not sure how I'm going to get the red out. Might try the process again. Hair still stinks but it's a vast improvement. Show details
Beware if you have asthma – The minute I started to put this on my hair I had a bad asthma attack from the fumes it gives off. Take care using it if you gave any kind of respiratory disorder. Show details
Was okay but even max strength cant remove oldish hair colour – It smelled gross but I didn't really mind, it sorta hurt but thats natural since it's made of chemicals. It did get rid of some of the old colour nearf the roots and the buffer smelled really nice, if you've just made a hair colour mistake this would be very good for removing. Also I had many blonde streaks with green blue colour on them. And it costed about 12$? Show details

Worst – If you black hair : DONT BOTHER ; I have brown roots and black hair : twice I did ; Show details
Worked on removing red hair – I had bright red hair which I had for about a year, topped up in between permanent colour with a semi to keep vibrancy. It striped my hair to the base orange but is extremely strong smelling (rotten egg) even after 5 washes so far so be warmed. I will leave it 2 days before bleaching the orange tone out with Olia bleach then recolour with a… Read more
toner to ash blonde (well that’s the plan)
Did not break my hair, when wet it feels clumpy and dry it feels fine.
It did burn my scalp so if you have a sensitive scalp I wouldn’t recommend it. Four stars due to the burning scalp.
Worked but not properly – I used this brand on my purple hair and it removed the purple but my hair is now blue/green at the bottom. I don’t know how this happened but it did. I don’t recommend using it Show details
Steer clear, just awful – Ive been dying my hair since my teens, using numerous products over the years. I saw this in savers UK, it was the cheapest there and was within my budget. Fast forward after application, looked like it worked (I go bright ginger). After rinsing it went back to dark brown/black! All it's done is made my hair smell and wasted my money. Now got to purchase a more pricey one that actually works! Show details
Turned hair grey – I bleached my hair few weeks ago put a dark blonde on used this to get rid of the dark blonde went up stairs with yellow hair as the remover had worked used half the buffer and the colour of the buffer was a grey colour and now my hair is that colour so it’s redyed my hair I’m not impressed I followed the instructions this is my first time using… Read more

Absolutely brilliant – Used this for first time. Very sceptical but it did exactly what it said. Highly recommend this product. Very smelly but if you rinse as in instructions there is no problem with any smell afterwards
Completely shocked me! – I was so sceptical of using this product, you hear of so many people using them and it not working or making hair orange but it really did suprise me! For 2 years I dyed my hair, I went from a Monday brown/blonde to a bright red, then filled it down to a dark purple. I kept up the the for a while before giving up around Christmas but it just… Read more
wadnt growing out or fading and my roots were looking terrible!
I followed the instructions to a T and as soon as I removed the bag (cling film is not my friend) i noticed it has taken all the colour out. I was nervous cos it looked orangey but after following instructions and giving it a boost with my own shampoo/conditioner afterwards I was shocked to dry my hair and see my natural colour! No brassy colours and no orange!!
Obviously I might have hit lucky with this product but I would highly recommend especially when you are nervous! Always keep a back up hair dye just in case, and I'm sure you will be just as happy :)
Removes dye from inside the hair cuticle – Pros: Removes colour that is in the hair cuticle, doesn't fry hair like bleach does, can do at home, fast, cheap. Cons: doesn't remove staining on the outside of hair (no good for manic panic), drying on hair so need to put a conditioning mask on after, smells really really bad. The smell is so bad, it made me ill/nauseous. Felt sick for about an hour afterwards, but it did remove permanent hair colour so it's ok.
Absolutely fantastic product!! – First of all i would like to point out I am a hairdresser & have been so for 25 years. I would normally steer clear of colour removal products & opt for a bleach bath to remove unwanted hair dye. As it was my own hair I was dealing with, and after reading all the reviews, I decided to give the JoBaz a try. I had 2 months worth of red (bright red,… Read more
to be precise) permanent colour build up not to mention numerous applications of Maria Nila colour refresh in both 6.66 (bright red) & 6.40 (autumn red). This was over an old balayage so darker colour at the top & very light blonde on the ends. I new that a bleach bath would send me pink so I'd need to do it 3 or 4 times. My hair wouldn't of taken that kind of hammering, so this seemed the safest option. I followed the instructions & apart from the horrendous smell, all went really well. I was left with a rather unattractive gingery blonde colour, (think Linda from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme) but no red at all! I mixed up some L'Oréal inoa semi permanent in 9.1(very light ash blonde) with 3% (10 vol) and applied it quickly. As my hair was super porous, I new it would grab the colour & go darker than expected, so I only left it on for 5 minutes. The result is a gorgeous chocolate light brown colour with caramel tones where the old blonde was before the red. Not too warm & not too ash..... Just perfect! I am so impressed with the condition as well. I'll be using Maria Nila sulphate free shampoo & conditioner for coloured hair as this will keep the colour fresh & maintain the condition too. One thing that I had seen from previous reviews was that people were noticing their hair going darker again after they'd finished & dried it off. YOU MUST CONDITION YOUR HAIR AFTER THE FINAL BUFFER RINSE!!!! Conditioner acts as a barrier & will neutralize & stop any chemicals that are left in the hair. It is vital that this happens as the colour molecules could still be active. The end instructions just say to conclude. This should read condition!!!
Brilliant product – Used this product with trepidation as I have thin hair...worked brilliantly to remove a very dark colour I put on my hair. Colour removed successfully and I was able to recolour my hair straight away. The product didn't damage my hair in any way would highly recommend and will use again.
PLEASED!! – After trial and error with MANY hair colour strippers over the years this is by far the best I've ever used, I was a really dark brown with red on top, and this took me to a light browny/ natural ginger and I love it. Would absolutely recommend, just have to follow instructions properly!
Too smelly – My hair was dyed burgundy colour & I wanted to grow it out. I had about 4 ins silver root growth & looked ridiculous. In a bid to hurry things along I purchased this product. My hair went a horrible rusty colour, one could say "my own fault!! ok but the smell from the product is horrendous. It's like the old fashioned perming solution, ammonia & after 5 weeks & a brutal cut it still stinks!!!!
Its perfect, if you know what youre doing – A lot of reviews are people being disappointed. Stripping your hair won't bring back your natural colour, once you dye your hair, your natural colour is gone. Stripping the hair removes the pigment dye that was put in, it doesnt remove stains either. Any hair dresser would advise you that stripping dye out of your hair is very damaging. This… Read more
product is amazing, and does the job. People just need to do their research on how products work before they use it.
The smell reminds me of perm solution and it will be in your hair for a while.
Does what it says on the box! – I had the live purple dye on my hair and I used the jobaz max, (purchased from b &m so dont have an invoice) it completely removed all of the coulor and returned me back to natural read head (with blonde ends due to previous lightning) i rinsed foe the full reccomended 10 mins + 10mins, although my hair felt really dry at the time, it is fine after a good conditioner
Worked really well got rid of black colour – I have used this a few times to get dark colour out of my hair and it actually works it dose smell bad whilst in hair but it washes out you need to really follow instructions the more longer you rinse the product the better the result i recommend 10 mins minimum for best restult i had dyed my hair to dark by accident and it brought my hair back to previous colour which was also dyed a very good product just have to bare the smell
Ok – Used this on my grandaughter to get purple dye out of her recently dyed hair. Took out about 60%. Smells like rotten egg gas. The smell hangs about and will reappear when the hair gets wet, so if you use it and get caught in a storm beware..you won't want to be on a crowded bus!! Took about 6 washes for the smell to finally disappear.
Did the job, caused vomiting – I bought this product to remove a blue colour I had put in my hair, it worked perfectly giving me my blonde hair back (with a slightly faded ash colour where the blue was deeper). What it didn't do on was advise you to be in a well ventilated area, not only does the product stink of raw sewage but if you're doing it in a small bathroom you can… Read more
look forward to asphyxiation and in my case throwing up.
So the product does it's job, it just doesn't tell you that you need to use it in an empty field with 90 acres of free space to avoid the nerve gas the product releases
My brown hair is now orange! – Followed instructions, my hair is now a light orange. I will admit my hair colour is months old. I didn’t want to dye it again, I wanted my natural colour back, the same as the two cms of regrowth I have. Well what a waste of money, cos it’s not stripped the colour it just turned it orange, and obviously that’s a different colour to my light brown regrowth!
