Both TV and Service are RUBBISH – Purchased the JVC 58" Android TV, First TV lasted 18 months then picture went black with small silver stripe in the middle. Contacted JVC who advised not a "repairable fault" and replaced the TV, replacement TV lasted 9 month when picture went wavy , still under warrantee but JVC wont answer phone. Poor quality TV and appalling after sales service! Show details

All JVC TVs are terrible – 5 month old JVC 58 inch and starts flickering and then goes totally black... Buyer beware and do not purchase a JVC anything. Most reviews are terrible and wish I would have researched before purchase. And customer service does not exit at all... No response at all Show details

Not compatible with Google play JVC LT-50N7115A – Tv pic is great, Size and design are great, but I'm gonna jump to negatives, as it's why I'm here ... JVC advertisers this TV as a smart TV and is apparently compatible with Google Play. This WAS true years ago however JVC stopped releasing updates for this models software, which In turn means many google play apps are no longer compatible or… Read more

updated. The apps pre-installed is what your stuck with, and due to lack of updates they don't run smoothly. The apps are also for countries outside of Australian services that we can't even access or sign up for, and the apps we can access such as Stan, animelab etc are not compatible with the software. If I had of known the "smart TV" features were basically an outdated 2016 version of a cheap android tablet from China, I wouldn't have spent the extra money to buy this, and simply brought a bigger TV, and used my ps4 for streaming apps.

So dissapointed in JVC, these tv's are still being sold for $800+ yet the software is obsolete and they have no plans on fixing or updating. It shows a total lack of care for it's customers.

Way beyond expectations – I did plenty of research before buying. And most of the people complaining are either talking about a different model or don’t really understand how to use it. screen has good blacks as expected for QLED at $499AUD can’t go wrong. Android 9 easy navigation, tv streaming apps, netflix, stan, prime just works so well. Have Plex and Kodi installed… Read more

and have added Apps to allow Alexa to work. Have smart phone apps for remote. Just really happy with it. Sound is a bit naff. Use an amp or a bar.

DONT BUY – Bought from big W over a year ago. When using Xbox and exiting an app the screen goes permanently black and turning it off and then on again doesn't fix it. You have to pull the power cord out for it to work properly again. That is annoying weak for a tv made in this day and age. They are not what they used to be. I'd just get a cheaper brand… Read more

because the expensive ones are not as good anymore and not worth the money. LG still has pixel problems after owning one for 6 years which is on par with a tcl, so go figure. It's true that everything is not as good anymore, not only just TVs.

Great picture but no usable audio outputs – this set has a beautiful picture, vibrant colour. The internal speakers are poor and tinny even with bass all the way up and treble adjusted. The 3x HDMI ports and 1x RCA A/V allows for plenty of connections & works fine on Chromecast and popular STBs. There's only a digital coax out which I couldn't get working with my AVR and no RCA audio… Read more

out, and no fibre digital output. In fact, my 7 year old Panasonic 42" LCD runs circles around this TV in connection provision and internal sound. The menu is good, but FTA station info is very small.

The cabinet itself is very light, maybe 15 kgs. Plastics are flimsy & feels cheap, and the legs require a long TV stand. But I like the pilot holes prefitted at rear for easy wall mounting.

This TV may be a good bedroom or family den & gaming, but look elsewhere for a better quality main theatre experience.

Good TV but has been false advertised – JVC advertises this TV as a smart TV with Netflix and Youtube, but when you try and watch them after 20 minutes of watching something either the picture freezes and the dialogue continues or the volume stops working completely and the image continues. When i called JVC about this problem, they said that you need an external media streaming device… Read more

connected through the HDMI port in order to watch media streaming apps. Which in my opinion makes this no longer a smart TV its just an ordinary TV which is able to connect to WIFI. before i actually made my TV a "smart TV" (connecting it to WIFI) i had my XBOX 1S connected to it and was watching Netflix like that - some how from just doing that it was using on average 2000GB a day sometimes more.

So overall as a TV its a very good a TV, but would probably benefit a bit more from better sound/sound bar, but as a SMART TV its useless and JVC false advertises it.

You can connect a mouse – I see one review complains about the remote but remotes are similar with all tvs I have Sony55 smart tv as well as a JVC 55 and using the remote is similar. With the JVC i connected a wireless mouse and it works fine and is easy when using netflix to select options. I didn't find the Sony as easy.  Show details

Rubbish – This is a good TV with a remote control that is absolute rubbish. If you're using it as a "smart TV" then the remote control is totally inadequate and makes the simplest of tasks an total nightmare. With so many buttons on the remote control, you would think that they would provide some to do the job properly when trying to select things on screen. The four directional keys are so clunky, they belong in the 1960s  Show details

Great price and picture for a big 55" TV with 4k – Purchased this 55" TV from Big W. I have to admit I am very surprised at how good this $650 TV is. After reading several negative reviews on the other cheaper TVs, I decided on JVC because at least I have heard of this brand. The TV setup was fine. The best function of the TV is how good it connects to my Yamaha sound bar. This connection is via a… Read more

HDMI cable and it works perfectly and much better than my LG smartTV (which used an optical cable). There is no fiddling around and the TV remote automatically controls the volume. It is very clever. The picture is perfect on shows that are using 4k or similar, but obviously not clear on older shows, budget commercials and lower quality tv shows. The only weird thing about the TV is the huge square light at the bottom left hand corner. "Green" light when on and "red" light when off. It is HUGE, tacky and unattractive. It looks like a part from the 1970's. JVC, what were you thinking? I might cover it up with black electricity tape.

PS: The model I purchased does not have smart tv.

Great tv – Never had an issue with this TV. Everyone complaining about the fuzzy picture has no idea how 4K works. The tv is designed to show programs in 4k HD, so when you are watching free to air SD the picture will be fuzzy. Xbox and PS games look amazing on it as do the HD Foxtel channels. Well worth the money in my opinion. For a cheap tv, I am impressed.  Show details

Not A Smart Tv – Picture quality average using free tv, better watching movies but not great. Speakers have tinny sound. Bought a soundbar but tv doesn't have an optical cable port, so I connected it via an external device but can't turn off tv speakers so the expensive soundbar can't work. No bluetooth (Wth in this day and age). Limited internet capabilities. Not really a Smart TV.  Show details

55in. JVC BIG W TV – I do not have a problem with this unit, if you read the instructions you will find out that the outputs and inputs are stipulated has designated jobs to do. You can't just plug hdmi's and usb's in anywhere as other reviews have complained about. Picture quality is good.  Show details

Great for the price – This is the biggest TV I have ever owned and at under $1000 you can't go wrong. Yes the picture is a little fuzzy on the standard channels but it is crisp and crystal clear on the HD channels. The sound is a bit weak but luckily I have a top notch sound bar that matches well with this tv and makes it a power house for movies. t is fantastic for… Read more

playing the Xbox on and watching Blue Ray on it is mind blowing.

As for people saying it isn't a smart tv, I don't think you get the concept of what a smart tv is.

This tv connects to the net every time. I am using a Netgear nighthawk wireless router which makes a huge difference.

We watch Stan, Netflix, Youtube and Foxtel on it all the time.

It's operating system is a bit clunky and not as user friendly as the OS on my LG smart tv but it does the job.

Well worth the money.

Rubbish it's not a smart tv – Can't scroll through the apps. USB ports don't work. It's ok for a normal tv def is not a smart tv I'll be returning asap! Looks nice but we wanted a smart tv as we have no antenna and this is not a smart tv Netflix doesn't even load it's easier watching Netflix on the iPad compared to this tv.  Show details

Alright for price – I bought the 55" on special Big W. Maybe Picture pretty good. The biggest let down is you can't update the tv. It isn't compatible with Google playstore, although states it is a smart tv with apps attached. So you cannot update anything. Most of the apps now will not play because of "out of date". The tv has no certified certificate, so you can't… Read more

update through playstore. Only a Android 4.4.2. and that can't be updated. Useless unless you just watch free to air.

Excellent – Picture is good. Plenty of ports to connect Apply TV and sound system to. USB as well. Compact. Warranty is ok Sounds ok. Only annoyance is you have to point the remote directly to one spot on the TV to get the thing to work (not a big deal though)  Show details

Yuk – Works well if you don't mind a fuzzy picture. Tried all channels, re-tuning etc, but it is an absolute shocker. No wonder it is cheap - should have known. Won't repeat this mistake. Can't afford too much so back to my old Panasonic 50". Returning the new one asap. :(  Show details
