Amazing when working – Have had my unit for 5 years has been fantastic when running. Have twice had to replace valves in pump and now have died again for the 3rd time. Don't think I will bother again. Starts first pull every and plenty of pressure just disappointed with quality of pump. Show details
Thirsty but does a great job – I have been using this Karcher pressure washer for over twelve months now and have not had any problems with it so far. The use of the detergent suction tube is fantastic as soapy pre-wash on cars or boats. For domestic and light commercial use this is has ample water pressure and would not upgrade any higher as it far too powerful for around the… Read more
home. The only downside is that it chews through a full tank of petrol in around 45 minutes of continuous use. Other than that I am happy with the product.
Yes I will take your money ,no I dont care after that – Put a tank of fuel through worked well ,refuelled it and kept on cleaning until suddenly the hose burst open and that was it . Returned hose to dealer and was told I had touched it on exhaust and we dont care you will have to get a new one . Rang Karcher Australia and they were a little bit better but basically your fault and you will have to deal with it . Show details
Be careful – I borrowed my mates one of these and used the pencil thin nozzle to blast weeds out of the cracks in paving. It did a great job, but I was not noticing that the ricochet water was also taking off the powder coat from the pool fence !! So use the flatter wider nozzle and be safe, other than that very powerful !!
Not what I expected – After shopping around looking for a petrol pressure washer, I came to the conclusion that sticking with a well known brand and paying a little extra was too way to go. Naturally the Karcher was logical choice. Upon opening the box after purchasing from Bunnings, I was greeted with a little note from Karcher, the note read a little something… Read more
like this- Dear New owner, if you have any warranty issues please don't return to place of purchase, please call Karcher on this 1800 number.
Hmmm, I thought- that's strange, not thinking twice I continued to play with my new toy! After unboxing, setting up as per manufacturers specs, all went well. Only unusual thing I noticed was the lack of priming pump/bulb. Maybe the elevated position on the tank renders this feature not required.
So I continued to wash the car with out trouble until the final rinse, the o-ring on the snap lock fitting had already broke. No biggie, 25c right!
Ok second use of the machine some 5 days later, cleaning my teak deck, 10 minutes in a turn and look at the machine and there is white liquid every where under the unit. It's oil and water mix. And yep there is water In the engine. Shut down immediately. Now I am no expert in mechanical engineering but in my opinion this is bad news. Considering the replacement cost- I am sure this makes this unit a "wright off".
Returned the unit back to Bunnings with receipt and that's where I started too get alittle annoyed, the Bunnings guys informed me that I had to deal with Kacher not Bunnings. I reminded then of my contract of purchase was with Bunnings, not Karcher and the ACCC would love to hear about Bunnings lack of service warranty if I did not receive the service I deserved after paying $525 only days earlier. Long story short, I got an on the spot replacement after 30 mins and defending myself. Would of preferred a refund but this wasn't an option. Just wondering how long this unit will last. This is not a "hate" write up on Karcher at all. Just really disappointed and my opinion of Karcher products has dropped some what... Good luck with your choice!
Starts on the first pull every time, does a great job cleaning – I've probably put nearly 50 hours on this machine since purchasing it a few months ago. Assembly is simple, a bottle of oil is included, and the four nozzles included are sufficient. I use this machine to clean several hundred square metres of white tiling, to clean concrete, and even to wash the cars on the weekend. The difference the G2500DCE… Read more
makes to tiling and concrete is amazing, any surface you clean with it looks like it's brand new again.
Maintenance is fairly simple, the only issue is that If the tank is fairly full, when you tip the machine to change the oil fuel will spill out, but otherwise maintenance is similar to a lawnmower really – regular oil changes, air filter cleaning etc. The engine is made by RATO, a well respected Chinese engine manufacturer, and it is on par with domestic Honda engines in terms of projected longevity. As the title states, it always starts on the first pull and while I wouldn't say it's quiet, the noise levels are acceptable. The pump looks to be of higher quality than those found on Briggs or Ryobi pressure washers – it's physically larger and has a brass head which will not corrode (unlike the common and cheaper aluminium pumps). I've hooked up an inline filter on the water inlet just to be safe, but so for this thing seems very reliable and I seem to keep finding more uses for it.
Exclude the warranty if buying – Good machine, though don't buy it if your relying on the warranty being easy to get repairs.my machine has crapped itself apparently due to "grit" from Brisbane tap water according to Karcher????? Have had to argue to get any action at all after being told that they wanted $400 to repair it although it had been used only with clean drinking water,… Read more
and well cared for. They don't tell you that it only takes a few grains of sand to kill the pistons in the pump, and that the machine should be used with an after market filter as town water can kill them quite easily. The filter they come with is not sufficient. If you do get warranty hassles, don't back down. It is getting repaired now after being with them for over 5 weeks, and only after threatening to go to fair trading. Good machine, though be very careful with any dirt or grit that might get in through a normal garden hose. They're just not up to it, and the warranty hassles are disappointing.
Won't honour warranty and not the quality hoped for
Karcher G2500DCE – The G2500DCE is a great machine. I used one of the mid-size Gurnie high water pressure cleaners only to find that it barely scratched the surface. The G2500DCE ripped all the grime in no time from our concrete driveway. If you hold the green nozzle too long in the same spot it will remove the top surface of the concrete and expose the aggregate.… Read more
It sounds, feels and works like a great work horse. If you want the job done right the first time and at reasonable speed don’t waste your money on much weaker electric units with plastic or aluminium pumps. Power, gives great results, easy to manurver around, easy to use, not overly expensive. A bit noisy
Don't waste time on anything less! – Great unit, ripped off all the gunk of our large concrete area. Easy to use, once the wife started using it, she wouldn't give it back. Accidentally put a hole in my concrete path by using the most powerful nozzle, so that gives you an idea of the strength. Don't waste your time on cheap imports or electric, I will be looking after this baby for years to come. Powerful, easy to start, reliable Nothing
Better than similar priced electric model – I have used the machine for about 5 hours now and it's out performing any electric model, that I have had before. The pressure and flow rate for the price of a domestic electric model cannot be matched. The brass head on the pump is a must, I and sick of aluminium heads, rotting out.The fuel usage is about 1lt per hour. The quality of the lance… Read more
and tips is very good, and the even spray pattens makes the job much easier. The cart and wheels are good quality. A longer hose and better exhaust silencer would be the only improvements, I would like. Brass head, 9.5 lt flow rate and no power cords. Short hose 7.5 mt and the noise.
