Not worth tis - DO NOT BUY – Purchasef 20 Jan 2023 - $147 - Bunnings. Sounds good - looks good - Katcher is a god brand - BUT the product is terrible. Hot soapy water did a better job. The 200ml tank last about a minute if you are lucky. Tried to clean a range hood filter elelement - hopeless. I had better luck running it under the laundry hot water tap - Sorry Karcher this is a dud Show details

No exactly what I was hoping for – Bought this today and so far it is ok, but not blowing me away. I really dislike that it doesn’t stay on without holding your thumb on it - I literally feel like I am getting a blister! It is working on the grout and floor tiles I bought it for, but it will be a long process. I have to refill it with each row of tiles and only 200 mls at a time.… Read more

For those who said you can’t open it to refill, hold the button down to release the last bit of steam and then open immediately - you don’t have to wait for it to cool down, just let the steam out. Despite my complaints I think it is ok though extremely time consuming.

Waste of time – Very disappointed with this. I should have read all the reviews before buying it! It lasts a couple of minutes before it runs out of steam. Takes forever to cool down before it can be refilled. If I could refill it straight away, it would be ok as it does clean well while it is working. Show details

Karcher Steam Cleaner worth the $ – I literally use this for mirrors, windows, oven, shower, bath, floors, clothes- the list goes on! It's streak free and everything feels really clean afterwards. The cord could probably be longer and you do have to frequently fill the water but these are only small concerns. Show details

Waste of $149. Didn't clean any of the grout. Its just an expensive wet air pump. Really disappointing – Grout, air con, glass. Refill every 60s of use. Useless product. Didnt clean grout at all. Really lacks any power. Just a wet air pump really. Really disappointing as i thought they were a quality brand. Show details

Doesn't work as stated – This cleaner is a waste of $149. Does not remove any dirt, grime or soap scum. It is hopeless. I used twice and still did not even touch the edge of what I needed cleaned Show details

Not enough water capacity to clean a small are – Does not hold enough water to clean a small area, before re filling, which takes the machine forever to cool down enough to refill. Not a good buy. A larger fill tank would be better. Show details

junk status – This handheld steam cleaner holds just 200ml of water - less than a cup - when in steaming mode it lasts 2 - 3 mins before going dry. The pressure relief lock cannot be released until the unit cools which takes a long time. I used it to clean the ledge base of my shower - just 1.2 metres long and 8cm wide which is not even 1/10th of a square… Read more

metre!- Utterly useless - then a 10 to 15 minute wait until more water can be added as the lock valve will not release until unit cools! Also the steam button cannot be locked i to provide continuous steaming - you have to hold button in with one hand whilst using the wand hand gun. Very awkward and not ergonomically functional. Karcher ought withdraw this product DO NOT PURCHASE

Warranty what a laugh – Purchased and six month on it broke tried to claim warranty but they blamed me for damaging it that is crap. Warranty is only good to wipe your bum with.

Returned on day 1 – What a piece of junk! Not worth the price. Tried to clean stove but didn't remove stains. It was quicker and easier with a scourer. No on/off button which means you have to hold your thumb on the button the whole time which is painful.  Show details

Cheap junk – Barely used it and still broke. Cheap junk designed to break down quickly. $110 fix for safety cap to be changed over and $40 for Karcher to just look at what’s wrong with it. What a joke. Don’t waste your money folks. Rip off merchants of the highest order and won’t be purchasing anymore Karcher rubbish from here on out.  Show details

Quality is not great, but works ok within its limitations – My key issue is the scrubbing brush attachment - made of plastic, it softens when it gets hot and keeps coming off. Poor choice of materials. Also the lock on the trigger is to lock it off, not on... this makes no sense - if using a separate brush you'll need three hands. Do they test their own products at all? Otherwise, it cleans well. I… Read more

get about 5 minutes work done before needing to stop and refill its 200ml tank, so this light duty model only suits small jobs.

It's not too bad – Pros: Small and compact Considering it's size it does produce a good amount of steam Comes with other accessories I've found it easy to use Fast heating time Good safety mechanism Managed to remove soap grime and cleaned my oven (I do keep mine very clean so there's not much to clean), it was very good at cleaning rangehood splatter screen… Read more

(disolved the fat/grease build up)

Cons: Wished it can hold more water - then again I did choose to have a small unit Also you have to constantly press the steam button down to create the steam - gets a bit hard to do after 30 mins worth of steaming

Seeing other reviews, I wouldn't recommend this unit if you have a proper house, just invest on the bigger models. Mine suited me cause I have a small unit. For how I paid I don't the perfromance. Meet my needs.

Don't buy this product – Unless you live in Toytown this product is useless. The lead is long enough to clean one average sized room. After one room it runs out of lead and steam. You then have to plug out and leave to cool before you can refill with water. You also have to keep your finger on the button while cleaning which results in sore hands. Show details

Poor Quality – I bought the SC 1 steam mop about 6 months ago and was tedious to use for simple mopping tasks. The nozzle cracked under the normal mopping operation. Kacher refuses to replaced because the damage was due to normal wear and tear! If the mop can not be used under normal working conditions, it should not be sold to the public. Show details

Terrible product – I bought it few weeks back and found it waste of money after few uses. Water leakage, too less steam... too hard to clean the mess after it’s usage. I put it on gumtree after 3 uses to get rid of it. Show details

Initially indecisive because I was looking for “amazing “!! – I have spent more time trying to find out how to use this product, than actually using it. Not sure why you actually produce a user manual, without the basic - how do you release the power release valve to refill! Once I worked out the basics, it worked ok. I wouldn’t buy again. Show details

Terrible! – Just the worst cleaning apparatus I have ever used. I could have cleaned my whole shower stall in the time I took to read the complicated instructions which went on forever, the assembly and the wait for it to be hot enough...and lo and behold about 3 seconds of steam then nothing. I tried each and every nozzle as well . In all a waste of $139 and will try and return it to Bunnings tomorrow. Show details

Disappointed – I have just used a newly purchased SC 1 Premium for the first time and feel annoyed! For a small handheld steam cleaner I can understand the tank being small but does the refilling of the tank need to be so tedious? There must be a more efficient safety design. Also annoying is the fact that I had, with difficulty and more strength than I seem to… Read more

have, to press the start button down continually with my thumb in order to use it at all. Another safety feature, granted, but one which I agree might be resolved with a trigger. The amount of steam generated is impressive but the length of time it lasts is not, so the time it takes to do much cleaning is extended by repeatedly refilling the tank. I bought it to keep the shower cubicle clean but I doubt I'll choose to get annoyed by using it too often.

Doesn't do the job – Bought this to primarily clean tiles in shower - then other cleaning jobs around the house. I think build quality is good so was inspired to think it was up to the job. Turns out, I agree with other reviewers - this model is a waste of money. Runs out in no time and is uncomfortable to use - whoever designed this has obviously never used one. … Read more

e.g. you have to keep the button pushed at the top with your thumb which gets uncomfortable after a while - a trigger would have been easier.

Then you have to keep the unit level/upright while using it or it won't work at all. The problem is to do that you have to hold it like a mug - which also gets tiring before too long - or it would if it lasted more than 2 minutes.

Once you turn it on it spits out a load of water before the steam happens - and when you only got 200ml to play with it lasts no time before it runs out. In fact it couldn't even take the soap off the wire soap rack before it ran out - let alone actually clean a whole tile or the grout around it.

I'll be returning it tomorrow.

Great little steamer – Bought this from bunnings because my old steamer had clogged up and i had an urgent job to do on a filthy truck interior. Used it in addition with some all purpose cleaner and a detailing brush and it worked great! Extremely Disappointed – Bought this product to clean my showers, wouldn't remove even the lightest marks from the grout or the flat surface of the tile. The water tank was empty after using for less than 2 minutes. Returned it for a refund and bought scrubbing brushes, at least I know they will do the job. Total waste of money.  Show details

Great for small apartment – I have a small apartment with tiles - I purchased the floor cleaning kit along with the steam cleaner. It's great for running over the floors once I have vacuumed. few different attachment options. It can be used for cleaning couches/blankets, windows or showers, and grout between tiles. I noticed a lot of negative reviews around it having a small tank and needing to be refilled frequently - to be honest, I don't find this an issue. If I was purchasing a steam cleaner for a house or a larger job, I think you can make a pretty quick good judgment as to whether this product is large enough for the area you are wanting to clean...

The only thing I do find a bit annoying is the trigger to dispense steam. Could be positioned better.

DISAPPOINTED – Spent more time waiting for cooling/ filling and heating than using! Thumb operated trigger is a pain. A squeeze trigger (like petrol pump) would be better. Only ok for spot cleaning in my opinion. Maybe the bigger units would be more user friendly. I won't buy another SC1 that's for sure!  Show details

A total waste of money - do not buy – This is a waste of space, have no idea why Karcher would put their name on it. Purchased because I have 3 other Karcher products that I love - they perform brilliantly. Why - because it did not perform, I could clean the same surface far faster with minimal effort, and no chemicals. Do not believe the marketing.  Show details

Took back for refund – I get approx 2 minutes until I need to fill up with water again and then wait for it to steam up.
