How reliable is the concours 1400 for long trips, I'm looking to buy one for a trip to L.A. from Toronto Canada, I've heard that is very comfortable for two riders but like to know more info about mechanical and electrical issues if any, I own KLR and KLE 650 great bikes but not for two riders in a long trip... tank you

Very reliable, if key transponder goes flat there is a back up key. Read the manual.

Hey guys I'm looking to change over from a R1200RT BMW to a GTR What will be the major issues. Will it tow a 300kg teardrop on the open road on low & higher speeds. Can the engine be mapped for better grunt at lower speeds?

Cheers Battleaxe

They are hard on brake componentry due to semi metallic pads, allow $2k per annum if you use it daily. Make sure you adhere to the diff oil change recommendation as the oil gets pretty chopped up. (10,000km change interval?)

Remapping will unfortunately cause issues with 75 % of bike insurers ( in Australia anyway) and they will have an escape clause, in a claim. It will however improve grunt markedly.

In the tropics avoid models prior to 2009 as they get real hot for rider below 80 kph. After 2009 the cooling was extensively re routed for rider.

The ABS on my GTR is making a constant buzzing noise, and it gets harder when I apply the front brake..... Is this normal?

No -not in my experience no. Pulsing through brake lever sure... no buzzing & I'd strongly suggest you get that checked out by a quality Kwaka mechanic soon as -being the brakes never second guess & never muck around !!!

Safe riding dude.... cheers from Johnny
