Today my headlights stopped getting bright when I start it. When I put the key in it will have both front lights come on in parking brightness. When I start and ride it they both stay the same at parking brightness not driving brightness. The high beam will turn on bright when I hit the switch. I need to know if this is a problem that will leave me on the side of the road with a dead battery.
there might be some problem with the fuse or wiring
What would cause my bike to have no power at all.. I've checked the fuses and my battery is good and charged?
I am planning to buy Ninja 300 in future but some one please tell what is maximum mileage of this bike?
Normally i cruise at 50 to 60 in my CBR 250.
So i want to know that i will get good mileage on that speed or not
Is the Fx 300 ninja cup still run these days?
Ga day - When the key is out of the bike the front running lights (city lights) and brake lights stay on. Has anybody had or heard of this problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
It sounds like you need a new ignition switch. Not sure if this is you case but often having a lot of keys attached to your bike keyring (goes for any vehicle actually) will put too much force on the barrel.
Hope what i’m trying to say makes sense.
Hey, I’m just trying to find a fun and easy to learn on bike for my L’s, I’ve been told and seen by the reviews this is a great choice, I just wanted to know if it’s a good option for someone with little hours on a motorbike?
Thanks
The Ninja 300 or the Z300 ( similar bikes ) are great bikes to learn on.
Have the power when you need it but not too much to be intimidating.
Is small enough to filter city traffic easily and they look great as well !
When I first jumped on this bike, the most amount of riding I had done was on the basketball court to get my license. Hadn't even been dirt bike riding. Obviously it took a while to build up skills, and many youtube videos, but this bike definitely made it easy. Would recommend.
Your riding experience prior to getting a license is almost exactly the same as mine. My first full time on the road motorbike was and still is the Ninja 300 & after 3 years of ownership I have little interest in changing it over for anything else. Get yourself the ABS version if you can. I was just in the shop after getting a tyre change the other day and saw that the new Ninjas are priced under $6k. Unbeatable value.
Hi.. My Speedo meter does not light up when i switch on the ignition but the turn signal blink perfectly. What should i do please help???
This is actually not an uncommon issue, you need to provide some more info.
1. Does the bike start?
2. Any other lights come on during idle sequence?
3. Menu screen is ok?
4. When did it start happening (dropped?)
Good evening my kawasaki ninja 300 abs 2012
Has engline yellow light on / off when the engine is idle position?
If the light goes off and your oil level is ok, it is nothing to worry about. It does this occasionally due to build up in pressure.

My friend Had With Some Wheel And It had ABS.
I'm trying to crank my bike but the it won't turn over. The red oil/fuel light comes on but the oil and gas are both filled. I can't figure what the problem is. Any ideas?
The red light you speak of denotes low oil pressure which is obvious because you only get sufficient pressure when the engine is running. When you first turn the key or kill the master switch the engine is stopped and the oil pressure drops and the oil pressure light comes on. Nothing sinister there. I suspect that you have a flat battery or a loose connection to the battery. Clean and tighten the leads to the terminals and then use jumper leads from your car battery to see if it turns over. If it does turn over, you just have a flat battery problem. There just might be enough juice in the battery to work the lights but not kick over the starter. Also check how bright your headlights are. If they're dimmer than usual at startup you have a flat battery. If jumper leads start your bike go for a 30-45 minute ride to charge the battery. Don't stall it !! If the battery is dead again tomorrow, get a new battery.
if you want to carry a passenger on a ninja, is a ninja 300 powerful enough, or do you have to start with at least a ninja 600 ?
thank you
The 300 will carry a passenger, not that I've tried to. A very small turn of the throttle gives amazing pick-up and power so I imagine that a large turn of the throttle will give much more. That is why I say it is passenger capable. However, considering what small surface they have to sit on, I'd say the passenger will quickly become quite uncomfortable.
G'day mate, the 300 could handle a passenger, but it would be steady as she goes. 1st gear would be a quick up shift and let 2nd do the initial pulling to reach road speed. The way I ride my bike when wanting road speed is take 1st gear up to 10 or 11000 rpm and once you have the road speed quick changing of gears maximises the bikes ability to maintain the increase in speed. If you have a quick shift fitted then maxing out each gear isn't a problem. The 300 is a bike that can handle high revving and I haven't heard of any issues with the motor. Fitting a quick shift would give full use of this quick, light little sportsbike. I've done 30,000 k's now and it is still running perfectly
My friend...If you are on L's; you are not allowed to have a pillion passenger first of all. Now on P's yes you can and Ninja300 is pretty capable; my suggestion wud b to not to waste money on 600cc bike. Mate once you get your Full R Licence; go for Ninja ZX 10R a 1000cc superb bike which will keep you satisfied for long long time....Wishing you Safe happy biking
i'm 6.2ft and weight around 65kg.
will the ninja 300 be perfect for me?? thtanks.
Hey buddy...Im 5' 10" ..its pretty comfortable for me..I wud suggest; you should go for test Ride mate....otherwise features Looks performance wise its gr8 Learners bike....Have a after market Loud exhaust too....Hopefully it helps.
Definitely go on a test ride for at least 30 min if you can arrange it. I'm 5' 7" and I find it quite comfortable for the first 20 minutes of the ride. After that I find my legs becoming uncomfortable because you ride with your knees bent and feet tucked under you slightly. I think my legs hurt mainly because I'm 59 years old and being in the one position too long causes the problem - not the bike. My son whom I bought the bike from is the same height and weight as you.He did research for months before he definitely settled on the Ninja as the best first bike to own. He was *adamant* it had to be the Ninja - and has offered to buy it back off me. (not a chance) I very much like the soft sounding exhaust the Ninja comes with. I seem to be alone in this opinion.
6'2" is maybe a little tall. I sit comfortably for hours and I'm 6 ft. No worries
Hi all, The dashboard of my Ninja 300 ABS isnt lighting up when i turn the bike on i replaced the battery and checked the fuses and the dashboard flashed even with the bike turned off and has now gone dark again any suggestions?
It has never happened on my bike, but if it did, I'd take it to my mechanic to fix. You never know, he's probably seen this a few times before and will know exactly what to do to get it back to new again. You might even ask him and he'll tell you what the problem is if he's too busy with other stuff to want to do it himself.
How to get more speed and pick up?
Buy a bigger bike, lol. Or spend thousands on modifications squeezing out a few horsepower with engine/exhaust mods and tuning the suspension, gearing etc. Unless I wanted to race the FX300 Cup or had an excess of cash, I wouldn't bother with all that, just enjoy it as is then upgrade. There is no replacement for displacement.
Dear Thina - You have to remember that you are being pulled along by an engine that is much smaller than a can of Coca Cola (375 mL). There is only so much it can do. Apart from changing gears at higher revs and using the best quality fuel available to you, I think you just have to accept the capabilities of an engine that is 296 cc. You can tell from my review that I ride extremely conservatively (granddad style riding) and perhaps I'm not the best person to ask about enhanced performance.
Is the ninja a bit thin/small for a more solid/stocky guy? Just want some opinions before thinking about buying one.
Many people say its quite a bit bigger than they expected. Personally I'm about 172cm and 110kg and have no trouble with the ergonomics, a mate who is 185cm and 120kg said it was more comfortable than his ZX10R. So unless you're really big I say no, it's a great all round bike for all types of people. Good luck in the hunt.
I am 182cm and 85kg so it's all good for me. It would be perfect for me if the seat was 815mm so it being at 805mm it should be sweet for you.
Just try hopping on one and ask one of your mates to take a photo and see how you go with it.
I am 5 foot 6 inches and 83kg, it fits nice to me.
