Underrated bike.. Does everything – Bought this one in May 2021 in Armidale with 80 000ks on the clock. As I ride mostly highways and country roads, I have changed gearing to 15 front and 41 rear sprockets - 7000 rpm at 110kph. Since then, I have replaced carb float needles, recovered the seat, fitted a manual cam chain tensioner and rear ventura rack. I have maintained valve… Read more

clearances and all servicing. I have slip ons fitted only because the RH silencer rusted out and I had them. I am from the Coffs Coast area and have ridden this to the Toy Run at Newcastle last year, to Orange and back recently, done 600 km days on the Oxley, and to Lismore and back, Mt Glorious and countless rides on Waterfall way. It has also done a track day at Morgan Park. ( the other three track days on my modified gpx250) If the revs are less than 7000 it lacks power, but this bike is so It has served me so well and I intend to keep it until it dies and then put another engine in it. Top bike.. great brakes with lots of bite, firm front and rear suspension, handles great and is comfortable to ride (with some numb bum after a few hours.) Light on fuel ( <4l/100), easy on tyres and very forgiving... I love the Kawasaki positive neutral finder (my 2008 Honda was really hard to find neutral when engine was running. I ride this bike almost daily for work... It can do it all. Currently at 99 500 km.. and goes so well. Soon I will have a very low km bike..

Great Bike – I got this one new in 2007 it's the 4th one I have had, but have changed the gearing one up on the front sprocket and two down on back, fitted Givi side and top boxes and have cruse control for the long runs also have a powerlet plug fitted to the handlebars for the phone in tankbag ,the phone is connected by Bluetooth to a Sena intercom on my… Read more ·  7

helment also to power the GPS and the newest thing is a camera I fitted for those on the road shots and go from Coffs to Phillp Island every year on it doing 370km to 380km before reserve at 110 to 120km, the only trouble on big hills having to go back a gear to keep revs up but other than that a good small sports turner having used the ZZR250s for just over 12 years and I had a GPZ250 before which I might add ended up under a car.

Excellent – A great looking bike. At low revs it is a sedate learner friendly bike. At high revs it is a zippy fun ride up to about 80kmh and capable till 110kmh. If you keep the revs low you can get 400km on a tank but 250km is more likely once you discover the fun and power of higher revs. Be careful if buying second hand many people buy this bike while on… Read more

their Ls skip maintenance, drop it then sell it on. Looks good. Cheap on fuel. Learner legal you will feel the lack of power on hills at freeway speeds

Excellent – I have a 2002 ZZR-250, and have had it for several years now. It is a good sports-tourer in the 250cc range. It has a 18L fuel tank, with a good range (all 350-400km highway riding). I have been off my probationary licence for a couple of years now, and am still happy to keep my little 250! From my understanding, Kawasaki have not changed… Read more

much on the ZZR for the last decade so that provides some reassurance that they make a decent bike and not much has needed altering. Good fuel economy (with a good sized fuel tank too!). Well made. Handy water-proof coin / licence holder to the left of the dashboard. Nothing to mention really.

Excellent – I bought my bike when new in 1999 as my learner bike and never had a problem whith it in terms of reliability. I also used it after I was off my P's (I was on P's for 1 year only as I had a full drivers license) and was happy with it's performance. Highly recommended if you are after a good 250cc bike. good sized fuel tank (18L) and good fuel… Read more

economy (over 350Km on 1 tank), perfect as a learner bike and beyond, great as a commuter in traffic or the city not as fast or powerful as the true racing 250's on the market

Bad – for me this bike has been good to start off with but engine troubles have jst gotten worse since about 3 moths ago. i go on the odd big ride with some mates but dont really push the bike much. ater riding this bike i wouldn recommend it to many ppl unless the bike was really thourughly maintained and serviced before its on time date its a good… Read more

looking bike feel nice to ride. its also very good on petrol, i never think iv had to pay more than $15 to fill it. if your more into racing and have this bike it can really get going to if you really want it to iv had alot of troubles with mine from the speedo needle coming out quiet often because of the vibration from the engine. lately i have alos been experiencing temperatures rising when im stopped in traffic after riding for a little while, even though fluids are full and thermostat are working
