I’m going camping this weekend where the temperature is expected to reach 40 degrees, so I urgently need an update on my order but expect that won't be coming anytime soon.

Update 07-Jan-2026: KickAss makes false claim to this product being whisper-quiet and that it run quietly, when it sounds like a jet plane, very difficult to sleep with that loud whooshing noise all night. In sleep mode they claim it runs at 47dB, acceptable dB outdoors is between 35 to 45, wonder what the dB level is when not in sleep-mode. On… Read more

raising the noise level with KickAss they informed that they understand that the noise level may feel louder than expected, especially during sleep, but that mechanical and electrical components naturally produce sound during operation. Update end.

Whisper-quiet operation is a serious understatement, the one we purchased is so loud it can be heard even with wearing earplugs and in the next room. If you can’t sleep with a jet airplane in the room or tent I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this whisper quite aircon that is definitely not whisper quiet, false advertising.
