Buyer Beware – The canvas on the trailer seems to be thin and can tear. Tried to contact the SE Qld. dealer (very challenging to talk to someone), it has a reputation of being only interested in "the big jobs" Finally contacted head office at Ballina and they sent parts that didn't suit the application. Impression given : Profit before people.
Purchased in .
If I had known wouldn't have purchased – In the 1st year 3 broken stove slide, 2 broken fridge slide, kitchen bench slide vibrates open letting dust in and other catch with key lock on other slide had become loose and sloppy allowing it to slide out whilst driving, brakes had to be rebuilt but started to have the same issues with the breaks again. Inverter stoped working, light switch broke and . Then we bad it weighed and it is 320kg heavier than stated.
They are good BUT – Yes we had to replace the jockey wheel , the standard wheel just couldn't cut it . It wasn't suitable for a 6x4 garden trailer . Not good enough for a $40.000+ camper trailer. Hot water service brilliant . The service guy Barry told me there would be a few teething problems and there were . But now it's all sorted out and we love it .
Camping in Style! – We couldn't get a second hand unit at a reasonable price so forked out a few $'000 extra and went new (late 2013). We got a few extras like extended draw-bar, tropical roof and upgraded kitchen. Super easy to set up (literally a couple of minutes without an awning and 15 with the "kwik" awning) and pack away compared with our old soft floor unit. Pack away can be easily achieved single handedly. Heaps of storage and the Diesel hot water unit works a treat. The kitchen is brilliant and everything is well designed. Build quality is high. All screw and rivets that pentetrate the tub lining are sealed with silicone
Service. We bought from the Wollongong NSW agent...BRILLIANT to deal with. I have had the battery charger fail and a replacement was shipped very quickly (at my option rather than returning the trailer for the agent to fit). After sales service is the key for the ongoing good name of any brand.
The unit tows really well but is heavier than our previous unit and is noticeable, especially on steep descents. As heavy as some small caravans I would say.
Gripes? The standard pneumatic jockey wheel is sub par and doesn't take the weight of a loaded trailer (mine squashed almost flat- replaced with a solid tyre). There is an option for an upgraded jockey wheel but the standard unit should do the job..which it didn't for me.
The drain tap for the water tank is exposed to rock strikes under the trailer (I have fitted a shield). The wind shield supplied with the stove is inadequate (I made a new one and fitted it permanently).
What would I like to see- somewhere to store long fishing rods I just strap them to the top but they are exposed to damage there. Also matching the hubs to a landrover would be good. It is good enough to go anywhere (with a sensible driving style).
Kimberley are not cheap by any stretch, but I believe that in terms of value they beat any other hard floor unit on the market. High quality, well designed, good value, easy to use, after sales service. Heavy, jockey wheel sub-par.
Excellent – I have hired two of these in the past so have never actually owned one but during the time i have lived out of them i found it very comfortable and practical! Well done Kimberly for designing and building a great home away from home! Everything!! Very well designed thought-out and built. Its a dream on wheels! Very costly. The kitchen is great to use but could be a bit larger making for more storage room.

Its me again....12 month report. I am more impressed now than I was previously. The easy of set up and especially packing away would be hard to beat! My previous trailer was very light and my comments above regarding weight were overstated now that I am used to the difference. I have had two very minor component issues (water filter bowl cover and hot water diesel fuel tank) . I again elected to fit the parts the myself and they arrived promptly by mail. I have had the unit over some very rough and dusty tracks and it performed faultlessly. Dust sealing is excellent with only a little getting into the kitchen area. None into the storage boxes or tent stowage. PLEASE CHANGE MY RATING TO 5 STARS. The hot water system is great especially the shower. At purchase I thought it was "over the top" but it is one of my favourite features....and definitely a hit when we are camping with friends.
