Fantastic. Only 100% stainless steel (no plastic) on the inside kettle on the market. Great performance – Fantastic! Highly recommend. Finally a kettle that is completely stainless steel on the inside. No plastic at all coming into contact with the water (not even a hidden plastic necessary for an external water level gauge). For those that want the an electric kettle the way all kettles used to be for health reasons/those who are ill and/or are sensitive to any chemicals leaching from the plastic over time with boiling over and over. I've had mine nearly a year and it still looks almost pristine, like it did when I first bought it. I don't know why others seem to have had discolouration inside because it hasn't happened to me. My guess is that it's because of something in the water in their location.

I bought it in the Almond colour as it looks best in my kitchen, but love the look of the red and black as well.

I would have preferred no plastic on the outside, just stainless steel (or coloured stainless steel) on principle to reduce plastic use generally as it's good for the environment but my primary concern was only stainless steel that comes into contact with the water.

It's pretty fast to boil, the time is takes is as expected for the amount of water you have put in it. If you just need a cup or two (minimum amount is 250ml) it boils super fast.

It doesn't sound particularly loud in my small kitchen as it boils. If you wanted quiet boiling you'd probably need a kettle that doesn't boil so quickly, and most people want their kettles to boil as fast as possible.

Because it's all stainless steel on the inside the water tastes great/is unaltered as there's nothing that can leach into it.

The outside of the kettle does heat up to some extent, but I would never expect a kettle to not heat up on the outside. The plastic insulates it a bit and I haven't been concerned about the temperature so I wouldn't consider it dangerously hot on the outside. I have no children in the house but you wouldn't have young ones handling a big kettle like this anyway.

There's clear markings on the inside indicating the water level. Some may complain about no external gauge, but that requires some plastic to come into contact with the water and you need to open the lid to fill it with water anyway so I don't find an external gauge important or necessary. Especially if you then have the down side of plastic in contact with the water. If the kettle feels pretty light it's not much effort to open the lid to check if the water level is above minimum and/or at the volume you require with the clear to see inside markings.

Overall I'm very happy with this kettle, it's been wonderful to have a fast boiling electric kettle with no plastic in the water available again. After a long time without any kettle like this, the way they always used to be made. I had tried a stove top stainless steel only (inside and out) kettle but it takes forever to boil so I'd just boil up water in a stainless steel pot instead as it was faster, but still painfully slower than an electric kettle. Therefore it was such a relief for me to find this kettle about a year ago. I had been looking for years but had given up for a while until I stumbles across this one.

I'm just so pleased with it, pity it's the only one on the market that is only stainless steel on the inside, not even small or hidden amounts of plastic (like that necessary for an external gauge). For others wanting no plastic on the inside like me, I recommend you buy one before they bring out new models as part of their strategy for sales (with new look models to buy) and discontinue this one, as all brands tend to do. Successor kettles may not be the same 100% stainless steel on the inside.

Purchased in at eBay for $137.99.

Stylish but basic – This kettle looks very stylish but has some drawbacks. The lid needs to be opened to reveal the markings necessary to determine the water level. The kettle heats the water reasonably quickly however is very noisy. It is also hot to the touch after it has boiled whilst claiming it is cooler in comparison to the previous model. It also does not have a removable filter.

Purchased for $139.

WASTE OF MONEY – I brought this kettle thinking I was going to be getting a good quality kettle and at $179 it should have been. I used the kettle twice in two weeks and the inside started rusting I contacted KitchenAid and they sent a replacement. within a week the replacement done the exact same thing so after emails back and forth (trying to claim I had used a cleaning ingredient) I get a refund code and will take 4-5 business days to process
