Follow-up · After a month of regular daily use this kettle is still the best I've ever owned. The stainless is still "stainless", still boils quickly perhaps even faster than the old glass one. The best part is the lid which opens at a touch and closes securely. Glad I chose this one.

Great kettle – The outside of the kettle can get quite hot when boiled. It boils quickly and fairly quietly, no funny tasting water. Looks very stylish but probably need to turn kettle towards you to easily see water level as it's behind the handle however the kettle looks better than it would if it was on the side.
