It Aint Perfect – Oh for the perfect toaster, one day I will find one but not in this life. The technology on toasters that do the toasting are basically the same so why would I expect things to be perfect regardless of the brand. Well, I have to say this thing ain't bad but it's not perfect. Let me address a few things first. You may see claims that this is a 900W toaster and others say it's a 1600W toaster, let me put that to bed. It is a 1600W toaster, which made me realise ,as always, that a lot of these testers aren't really testing and a lot of reviewers are just plagiarising. A USA brand made in China, what else is new.

It's plastic, it's not metal and it's not die cast.

The top gets hot , really hot, hot enough to burn your fingers if your not careful . The sides also get hot , because there is no insulation between the outer skin and the elements, just air. Now I am replacing my Breville and you can read my review on that if you like. The reason being, the Breville just got worse and worse at toasting and as you can see from a photo I supplied my home made Sour dough didn't toast at all on setting 4. My home made sour dough is a tough nut to toast and even with the KitchenAid the toasting was not even on both sides, however, it did toast, and that was on setting 4. There are no bells and whistles on this toaster, there is no warning buzzer or bell when it's toasted ,which came as a surprise because i read a review where the reviewer commented at how loud it was ............I must be going deaf. The toast pops up and sometimes out of the toaster, the lift lever only lifts it a fraction, the toast a bit more is only good for around 10 seconds more, if that, and the bagel setting is our crumpet setting . It's not a fast toaster maybe 2 minutes at setting 4. Another annoying thing is the crumb tray is on the opposite side to the controls, so, for my setup I have to reach around and over to get to the crumb tray. The thing is , it does work, but I shall be reviewing it again if anything changes as I have found initial impressions are not always accurate, when it comes to toasters and people. It comes with a 2 year warranty . You may not like paying this much for a toaster but these days it's becoming more of a middle of the road price rather than a premium price. Still though, check the photos I show one slice and both sides on the 4 setting and you can see they are not even, also my bread tends to burn on the edges which is a characteristic of my bread and nothing to do with the toaster.

Just a 2025 Update. I am replacing the toaster, it still works but I am getting spotty results.

Sometimes the toast is OK other times one side is not toasted. .

The other thing is those special buttons down the side, they drive me crazy, I can't see them without using a magnifying glass.I can't tell if they are on or off and it's just a st>pid place to put them, they should be on top and much larger . Have to say , for the money , it's way over priced, much like the Smeg and the new Breville, heck I just want brown toast and even , it's not rocket science.
