Kmart Mercury Bike 50cm

Kmart Mercury Bike - Beware – We purchased a Mercury 50 cm bike for Xmas 2020 as the children outgrow everything so fast. It wasn’t used much due to lockdown so imagine our surprise when 8 months later the stem of the bike snapped on a ride along the neighbourhood footpath! Fortunately our son was not hurt albeit very shaken! Never have we had such an experience! Kmart was just concerned about whether we would claim for injury and once we said in writing our son was not hurt they sent as a wishy washy email about not being able to do anything because of lockdown and that we should keep an eye on their website and if it can be fixed they will fix it! Seriously, how can they be so blasé about this and then say that if it can be fixed they will fix it? Who would trust a bike once the stem has snapped? It seems that in their eyes they have done their job and now we have to wait until stores reopen. In the meantime our son has no bike :(. There is no way we are buying a bike from Kmart ever again.
