Purchased the following Smart TV products & they are working in excellent conditions Praise The Lord * Kogan 85” = $2000 * Kogan Roku 65” = $500
Purchased in at Kogan.com for $2,000.
Purchased this TV in late 2021. Within 3 months there was a fault which was repaired under warranty. Fast forward 4 years and the TV now overheats - to a point where it turns itself off until it has cooled down. Sometimes we get sound when this happens, sometimes it’s a complete shutdown. You can imagine how much fun that is when you’re half way through a show or even a sporting event…..
I reached out to Kogan about this. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be any level of concern that their product could potentially be the catalyst for a house fire. Once it’s beyond the warranty period, it’s every man for themselves. As a long term customer, I genuinely thought they were better than that!!!
Long story short, I definitely wouldn’t purchase this model again and I doubt I’d even consider a Kogan TV moving forward. I’ll be saving up to buy a product that will work better AND not run the risk of burning my house down.
Follow-up · The initial fault was the TV turning off by itself infrequently. This began not long after purchase. The overheating was a more recent issue, first occurring approximately 4 years after owning the unit. Due to the overheating, the TV would shut down for about 10 minutes every hour. We have since discarded the Kogan TV and purchased another brand. We haven’t experienced any of the aforementioned issues with the new purchase. Lesson learned - you get what you pay for!!!
Purchased in at Kogan.com for $759.

Thanks for checking in. I have sent you a PM, however, i suspect the outcome will be the same as when I contacted Kogan via the website and the email I was sent through this platform - “My feedback is appreciated but being outside of warranty, there’s nothing that can be done”.
Falsely claiming change of mind policy tv not fit for purpose.
Purchased in at Australis for $439.

Really 3.5 stars is what I would give this tv based on the price point. So I needed a new tv, and I am a fan of Kogan. I cannot bring myself to buy a Samsung or brand name etc based on the significant price difference. The picture on this is very good, and I cannot fault that and the remote nice and easy to use. I feel I need to warn those who may not be overly tech savvy about a couple of things. This is not to say I wouldn't buy the tv again, I would, but in fairness please note the following...
So we set the tv up, it was VERY easy to do this. Even to just plug into the aerial and get watching free to air I think we have not done this as of yet.
The Roku brand itself is not overy condusive to Australian free to air TV it only had one free to air channel 'app' and you couldn't download the other free to air channels without buying a casting device. So I assumed I needed to install the Roku app, and I could then download the other free to air channels. It is not the case, this meant I downloaded the Roku app $16.99 I could not find whether this was a one off or monthly so I paid it knowing I may cancel it but not sure why I need this (upon looking further it was a one off fee) for what? Who knows lol.
I have a Sky News subscription I cannot link this even though the Roku TV. You need to buy a casting device (firestick, chromecast, Hubbl). I went into JBHiFi, they recommended the Hubbl which I brought, again this was really easy to set up but I already have paid for the Sky News subscription to link it through the Hubbl it is $8 a month, I will just figure out a way to stream directly from my phone to the tv as really but I just don't want to pay for the subscription again. And I cannot link it via the TV or the Hubbl, I also still have to figure out how to stream directly from my phone to the tv.
So fair warning, for easier set up with this tv you will need to buy a casting device to go with the TV, but for the price of it, I can cope with this. It was easier to set up than expected.
I hope this makes sense?
