So far so good after several weeks. Good colour good sound all excellent so far.

Wouldn’t bother buying a tv from Kogan again – I wouldn’t bother buying a Kogan tv again. My tv turns on and off when ever it likes. One of the speaker no longer works and the colour (after a year of use) is distorted when the program goes to the sky or background shots of the colour blue. Next time I’ll spend a few more dollars and get another brand

TVs are the cheapest but it seems they are also a lucky dip in terms of usability and reliability – This TV is advertised as a full 4K 60Hz TV and it works as specified. However, if you want to use it to display a computer (Mac or Windows) or games console then it does not work as advertised. The firmware on this TV incorrectly identifies itself as a 26" HD TV and not a 43" UHD TV. So, whilst you can get it to work on some equipment at the full 4K resolution it refuses to operate at the full 60Hz and maxes out at 30Hz. The Mac I tested was able to get to UHD but only at 30Hz while the Windows 11 PC I tested maxed out at HD. Even with "PC Mode" activated in the TV settings. I was also not able to get even the most basic HDMI CEC control to work to wake the screens up when the computers wake from sleep. In all tests I had to use the provided remote to turn the TVs on and then wake my computers up. I also have been using a couple of older Kogan TVs in the same set up, both of which were older 43" 4K TVs and was able to get them to work just fine (albeit with one of them not supporting HDMI CEC properly, for wake up).
I am an IT consultant with more than 30 years of experience in technology and can say with assurance that this TV does not operate fully as advertised.
I have contacted Kogan support to discuss this to see if something can be done to fix the problem with the firmware but have not heard from them, other than automated receipts. So, I am now left with no choice but to start threatening them with further action through the relevant consumer protection channels.
