Tilt function was upside down – My camera is not fully tilt down. But fully to up. That opposite!! Who need a view of up high when you reversing? So basically the factory installed wrong side. The wire is obstruct it's face down. There is no way to fix this problem. So I can see only surrounding. Not actual full rear view to stop a car. As spent $400 to install it to a car, no… Read more
way to just take it off from a car to return or refund. Just super disappointed to wasted super expensive investment for less work. All I wanted is stretch a limit of reversing a car.
Kogan 7 " wireless reversing camera – This is a reasonable reversing camera for the price. Installation instructions though are vague and you really have to know what you are doing. One negative with this camera is the screen clips over your original rear view mirror so now you can only see whats behind you when you have the car in reverse gear and the camera is then activated, if… Read more
you want to look in your rear view mirror while driving and just using the mirror in the new screen (as the camera is now not activated), it is fairly dark but manageable . Another negative is the LED lights surrounding the camera that should come on when reversing at night, do not work!

Useless instructions, misleading product info – It says simple installation, but it's not. The instructions are really useless. May a good price, but you are most likely going to end up paying alot more for someone to install it. Show details

Don't waste your time – 2 small details to consider: 1- It's not waterproof. 2 rainy days and it filled with water and humidity. 2- The screen doesn't turn on when you set the reverse. You have to turn it on manually (I think that is why they give you a remote control). If you want to make it automatically you have to wire the mirror to the reverse light on the back,… Read more
throwing away the "wireless" meaning of wireless.
It is cheap, I think you get what you pay, but if you want a truly wireless waterproof rear camera, search for another model.

Incomplete wiring diagram – I found the unit would not work without connecting the receiver to reversing light power via plus wire with the fuse fitted, beside the blue wire leading to the view screen. This requires power from the reverse light, Otherwise there is no power for the screen. This either requires you to find under dash power to the reverse light or run a wire to the rear of the car to power at the light, as I did. John Scott Show details
Useless instructions and diagrams – I don't know yet weather the unit works well but as an electrical technician I can say the instructions and wiring diagrams are useless, even in the downloaded manual, as all or most other revieweres have also commented. The Mirror unit seems to have surplus wires and a fuse which don't show connections to anything.
Instructions not only Next to Useless but also Misleading – As an electrician the wiring was not hard to do even with the less than basic information provided. Unit works same as Adrian and Garry (below). Mirror unit and receiver is wired into a 12 volt supply and Camera and transmitter is wired to reverse lights supply as directed. Unit will not work correctly. When vehicle is in reverse the mirror… Read more
shows the camera image as it should. When moved out of reverse the Mirror Screen then shows a constant message of "No Signal". Normal rear view mirror function will not work, just a message on the screen that there is "No Signal". Would expect the unit should return to a "Sleep Mode" if it doesn't receive a signal from camera transmitter and allow the normal mirror operation to work. No such luck.
Only way to get this piece of junk to work at all is to provide the power supply to the Mirror (and Receiver which is attached to the mirror) directly from the Reversing Lights supply (same source as you use to power up the camera and transmitter when reverse gear is selected).
Says nothing about wiring the mirror and receiver to the reversing lights in the totally abysmal instructions provided. Cheap and nasty product ...............old adage rings true, "you typically get what you pay for" or should it be the "the poor man usually pays twice"? Nice one Kogan.....
Disappointed with this product – I also am not happy with this item. I had it installed by an auto electrician, at a cost of $180. The electrician installed the camera in the position both he and I assumed was the correct way, that is, the cable came out of the camera at the top, therefore not interfering with the mounting process. Also, the camera swivel system was pointing… Read more
downward. An obvious necessary measure if the camera is installed higher up on the vehicle. After installation we discovered the image from the camera was displayed upside down on the monitor. To overcome this we had to re-install the camera in the opposite position.
Now the swivel motion points upwards, nice if you want a view of the sky.
Also, the cable now has to pass under the mounting bracket, preventing a neat, close fitting appearance.
Another issue is the operating instructions, the language on the monitor has changed to Russian.
I have tried to rectify this by going to Menu/ Function. with no success. As the language is Russian I cannot understand the text on the screen, therefore I cannot make any selections.
Can any one please tell me how to revert to English.

Reversing Camera, not all it's cracked up to be – Pretty poor performance Kogan. The bloody thing is no where near wireless. If you have better owners manual/installation instructions, why would you not include them with the unit? I have installed mine, it took well over an hour to effect the "wireless installation" and the unit will not even power up. The two transmitter units are powered up, but the screen just sits there and looks at me. All I can see in it is Me.
Camera is OK instruction and backup useless – Now that i have got the camera set correctly i am very happy with it originally the image was mirror reversed and no one from technical support could tell me how to fix it ( No instruction manual is available for this product ) by trial and error i worked out how to fix it myself . Also this camera is not wireless as it still needs to be wired to ignition system and reverse lights
Useless instruct to install – I would like to know were the red n black wires from the transmitter wire into. Understand the rest of the wiring. Would be nice for more detailed instructions. Lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots lots of googling. No answers.
For a closed in ute, it makes life easier – I have a Mark 2 ranger with a closed in tray so having a reversing camera certainly makes life easier when parking, you cant see smaller cars so you've got no Idea how close you are to them. With the camera you know exactly were they are. There are certainly better ones on the market but this does do the job. If your going to fit it yourself you… Read more
do need a bit of electrical skills and know a bit about your cars wiring. Main issue they have that Kogan need to look into is the Mirror, it falls off after a couple of weeks and once its lost the staying power that's it, I drilled through the top and fitted a couple of retaining screws which know keeps it in place. Value for money its not bad.
Detailed wiring diagram and instructions or Kogan reverse camera ALSO KNOWN AS ARV43M (gator) – I found on Tdj.com.au the detailed install information for this product which is also sold as the ARV43M. Absolutely Fantastic, this is what should be in the box from Kogan. I have only just found and downloaded/printed these out and now I’m off to work so I won’t get to use them for another week or so. Not as described. Not easy to setup. Does not automatically turn off...Help desk useless – Purchased this as it appeared that it would be a good unit. On receiving it, I set it up on a test bench only to discover some appalling omissions in the instructions (very poor). This unit was supposed to replace an existing albeit smaller screen which works just fine (a little small though) I installed the original system and have had a fair… Read more
amount of experience installing devices. Unlike a fully functioning system, this one does not automatically turn off when out of reverse. Several questions to the help desk later and still they just give stat answers (obviously hoping I just go away). The first responder obviously didn't even bother reading my email with my questions as his answers were meaningless against the questions. The second (or third) sent me a diagram which contradicted the instructions for wiring.
Dick Smith no longer exists in its original form and this company is obviously just trading on the name. They appear to offer no after sales service or support so basically you are on your own to sort things out. I shudder to think what the convoluted process and how long it would take had you bought an expensive item from this company given their apparent lack of follow up.
NOT RECOMMENDED, unless you like being mucked around and receiving poor quality products.
Disappointed and annoyed – Read that it's an easy install. It is not. It is quite complicated. Requires an auto-electrician so beware. Doesn't work on our car anyway we found out as we have a station wagon so the wires are not long enough and the battery is in the back. Sending back for refund. wireless. It requires an experienced auto-electrician to install and we have been quoted upwards of $250 to do so. Also, it is NOT suitable for a station wagon as the battery is in the back so the wires (which are not long enough anyway) have to hang from the mirror all the way across the roof and then down into the battery. Kogan will not refund because the 14 days is up. It's taken this long to try and sort the installation out. Do not purchase unless you have extensive knowledge of auto-electrics. We have been totally ripped off.

No auto power – Does not turn off or on automatically when reversing. Beware of flattening battery if you forget to turn it off! Have tested every setting it will not work as you should expect. You habe tp think to turn it on and then remember to turn it off this is very annoying

Disappointed – Does not works as it should be, worst reverse rearview camera on planet I think. Spend 200$ to install from auto electrician, still does not turns off itself after use have to turn off manually then it does not turns on itself, have to do it manually again. Not happy at all.
Great product, good price, but you'll need to be handy with a multimeter – Product is better than I expected, but installation took longer than expected, probably 2 hours. I managed on my own as I had a spare plug that fits into the cigarette lighter socket. Soldered the camera power leads onto the reverse light globe holder. Used double sided tape to stick lense to rear bumper (after unclipping it from the bracket).… Read more · 1
Required a multimeter so I agree that most buyers will need an autoelectrican to install. The operating manual could do with some more detail.
Disappointed – When purchasing the discription inferred that it was easy to in stall, this provred to be very far from the truth, I had an Auto Electrician instal it, at a cost of $ 360, and having seen what he had to do, he earnt every cent of it. I was originally disappointed when I purchased it to discover it was $20 cheaper the next week, I understood that… Read more

Good to use - hard to install – I was excited when i first saw this product, so i straight away purchased it. It said it was easy to install, but i found it difficult to install. However, the product itself once installed, was easy to use and its been a real lifesaver in providing us with the vision we need to see the external rear when reversing.

Useless! - Description Misleading – The first problem that I encountered was that it states on the description that it's easy to install, only "recommending" to hire an electrician, but suggesting that it can be done at home. When I bought it months ago it didn't even have that narration on it, simply said "you just hang it from your rear view mirror", so I assumed it worked by… Read more
itself, didn't imagine it needed wiring!!.
It cost me almost $300 for an electrician to install it, and it never worked.
The connection keeps constantly cutting off and it's in B&W, the color image is only mainly sporadic for seconds at a time, and the electrician explained that the reason is that it's Blue Tooth and that only works on very small cars. I have a Landcruiser and it's too big for the signal to work properly, so blue tooth cameras are virtually not used anymore.
It goes on top of the rear view mirror and it replaces it, so the screen is just that, a mirror, therefore the camera vision is only really clear at night, during the day it reflects everything and the image is barely visible.
It's so heavy that the mirror keeps falling downwards.
The buttons on the camera for different settings are useless and very hard to understand.
The remote control is small and also totally useless.
Kogan refunded my money (because of the B&W image), but that was $79, and the cost of the electrician was over 3 times that!! When I asked for a voucher to compensate they gave me a miserable $25 voucher and with a limited time.
I strongly recommend to see your auto electrician for any of these cameras, at least if it doesn't work you can ask them to replace it for one that works at their cost!
