STB-9000 - No Thanks – Very disappointing performance: ~ substandard TV tuner - cannot get SBS, nor others (NSW Central Coast) ~ sub-titles did not work ~ media player plays back only MP4 (not .ts, or other formats) ~ cannot reformat the USB drive directly on the device ~ runs very hot (both main unit and plug pack) ~ remote control and navigation OK In a word, rubbish. Straight back to retailer for refund...
Purchased in at BigW for $39.
100% useless – I bought it to replace a TEAC set top box that died. It records intermittently. Most of the time it records but when the PVR file is initiated, it can not be opened. I formatted the USB drive and tries others but, no luck. Also, it does not record when a DAILY event is scheduled. A total waste of money, luckily it was cheap. It's gone to recycle heaven.
