Track pad faulty. Terrible after sales service – I bought this for my son to use at school. The track pad would freeze every time we try to select some text - required disconnection & reconnection of the screen every time. We returned it to the store. 4 weeks later it was returned but the fault wasn’t fixed. We returned it again & it has been another 4 weeks without it being returned. Lenovo… Read more

customer service was evasive, hard to contact, passed my calls to multiple different areas, hung up on me when transferring calls, claimed to have no record of prior contacts & have refused to “approve” return of my money. They have still not returned our Chromebook. Perhaps it was a one-off fault but I cannot recommend any device from Lenovo, given the evasive and patronising post-sales service.

Light and easy – I bought Duet 3 at a promotional price with JB HiFi at $317 as a backup laptop as it charges with USB C port and I can charge it with a power bank. I have to say I am very impressed at how easy to get it started. I don't know much about IT. Once I put in my Google account details, all the rest of jobs were done by the machine. It installed all… Read more

Apps I used in my current laptop and related password. The sound of the laptop is even better than my Acer laptop. Really happy with the purchase.

I have to change the star from 5 to be 2 star now. I only used this tab for simple things like watching video. In the last 3 weeks, I began to use it for everyday working by saving some documents. Then today, all documents dissappeared! Don't know why. Terrible for serious working purpose.

Now, I have to change the star to be 1. I will also say that I will never ever buy a Google Chrome any more. I simply can't have access to any of my documents saved in the Chromebook. My Godness, how could this kind of product allowed to be put into market.

Great Chromebooks – I have the original Duet 10.1 and a Duet 5. They both are good value and highly functional. Both have amazingly bright screens (400nits). The Duet 5 is OLED and the browser runs quickly. Battery life is great, 10 hours plus. They are both Chromebooks, if you don't like ChromeOS then it seems unfair to blame Lenovo. Although I'm technically… Read more

inclined, I don't bother installing any android or LINUX apps (apart from BlueMail and the spell checker doesn't work, ChromeOS shortcoming), so streaming apps like Stan, Netflix, Kayo and even YouTube I just use the chrome browser. I use Google docs for all my office needs and Chrome remote desktop to emulate windows machines within our network. Cloud based operating systems suit me as I travel a fair bit, if my laptop dies, I can buy any cheap Chromebook, login and I'm ready to go.

It's a dog. Don't touch it – Bought this to replace my gen 5 ipad that I've had great service from. Despite the advances in technology in the last 5 years the Lenovo is nowhere near as good. It's unstable, with the apps frequently locking up or crashing, the touch screen is unresponsive and it's as slow as a wet week. The only way to get the touch screen to work is to use a… Read more

usi stylus. Fingers are useless. While it boots up in a reasonable time as soon as you open an app it freezes and it takes an age to become responsive; more than a minute. It's reasonable to expect that technology like this should work straight out of the box. This doesn't. Very very disappointed.

Great portable chromebook – I purchased this device from Amazon on a lightning sale for $267. At this price, an absolute bargin. I use this device for minor work including web browsing, emails and SOME document writing. It's not a very snappy device and the keyboard is very small, however it's still usable. Great for media consumption, however lack of widevine support for… Read more

HD streaming is a letdown, as the screen is quite nice.

Battery consumption is amazing. I'm currently using the device to type this review. I've been using it for the last 30 minutes and only gone down 2%.

Buy one of these if you can get it for a good price, don't pay full RRP.

Good basic machine .Has a major weakness – These get pretty much rave reviews everywhere. As far as the device itself goes, they are correct, for he price. I want to edit these comments: I have found that with a USB 3.1 Type C to USB 3.0 Converter OTG Adapter , you can allow the device to read data from a USB stick. There is a way to transfer data, if not connect. BUT. there is another… Read more

lack: the screen cannot have brightness manually adjusted. It is entirely "adaptive". IMO it goes way too dim. I have found that the selfie camera seems to be the way to affect this. If you find it too dim (which I have found often), you need to find a convenient way to shine a light on the lens and it will brighten the screen. It rakes some time.

I feel that this whole thing is extremely silly

BUT. Something I have never seen mentioned is that THEY WILL NOT CONNECT TO ANY OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM! Windows, Android, whatever. You HAVE to work via the cloud or email. This concerns me deeply. It can also be quite inconvenient. In all my reading I never saw this mentioned. The "blurb" steers away from it. I posted on the site of Officeworks, where I bought it, saying this, and Lenovo rep (I assume) countered me, using Lenovo's own verbage to tell me I was wrong, and hinting there were better things on offer from the device.......there are not. Again no mention of the lack of communication.

After 2 calls to Lenovo's Customer Service I described what was happening, I was told the truth and what I have written seems to be correct. You have to use the internet to "talk" to anything but another Chromebook. The apparent lying by omission makes me very suspicious of the motives for this.
