Will never buy Lenovo again – We purchased two for twin daughters and from the beginning they have been riddled with problems, both unusable within 1 year. Will never purchase Lenovo again. Show details
awful – bought this new and it was working well for a month then suddenly out of no where my screen just cracked and also the keyboard and touchpad stopped working after a while, never buying another lenovo laptop again
Terrible – Slowest laptop i have ever owned. Looks great and is sturdy but I won't ever buy Lenovo brand again. Just not up to standard, speed or performance that i expect.
The worst thing in the world – I brought this laptop for work and pieces are starting to fall apart. Its super slow and keyboard and mouse pad stops working. I don't recommend buy this laptop. WORST!
It isn't that bad – I purchased this laptop as an refurbished laptop for 300 dollars for school. I have been using this laptop for around a year now. At the start, the speakers were crackling and after opening the laptop up, I found out whoever repaired this laptop had screwed one of the speaker wires with a screw that connected the motherboard. The left speaker no… Read more
longer crackles but also no longer works. I could buy a replacement speaker set but I don't have the money. The battery life is around 3 hours from 100% to 0%. This model has the a9-9410 processor with radeon r5 graphics. The performance isn't bad for a 300 dollar laptop. It can run older titles like gta sa max render distance, 1280x720 at more than 60 fps. The hard drive is an ssd which helps the boot time a lot. The 120 gb capacity is tight for my usage but I don't have the budget to upgrade or buy an external hard drive. Microsoft Office products work very well with this laptop. It can also run adobe photoshop and illustrator fairly well. At boot up, Windows 10 is laggy but after about 30 seconds it runs super smooth. I had followed tutorials online about how to make windows 10 "lighter" and it definitely has helped. Everything is responsive except for web browsing. Only after 5 mins does Chrome become smooth. I prefer using Edge as it s smoother and more suited to this machine. I just had to add google.com as the start up tab because the news feed start tab isn't my type. It works well with NBN. It is about 1.6 kg which sounds like a lot but it feels relatively light in the hand. The touch screen is responsive. The 14 inch screen isn't a high resolution at only 1360x768. The thermal cooling is effective but can get a little loud but not irritating. After 1 years worth of use and optimization, it definitely has become a faster machine from the bloatware riddled, speaker crackling laptop when I received it. This was definitely worth 300 dollars although I am not sure you can always get this laptop at 300 dollars.
NBN CONNECTION – I have had this laptop for a few years, and it has worked well on Mobile Broadband Device. Having been forced to change to NBN I thought it would be a good idea to get my laptop connected to the NBN system. Did not work, so I contacted my ISP, who spent nearly 2 hours trying, changed settings, everything, even changed the Modem. No go. I have… Read more
EMailed Lenovo twice, no reply, where is the after sales service? If this device is not compatible with NBN then Lenovo should help correct it. I also contacted NBN who said " sorry you are having problems with our system" !!! Anyone else had similar problems?
This is not a laptop we spend $1100 for – It started overheating and shut downing after 1 hour’s use,due to no battery even less if it was plugged in and simultaneously charging. Consequently I can only use it for brief periods to do basic word processing and surfing the net. we promise that this is the best laptop we can have in this price range.. we took the laptop after facing problems… Read more
we been told it will cost us $350 to repair this machine which is in warranty reason the guy gave us is because the company used old hard disk to built this new laptop. After having the conversation with the sales men who sell the laptop to us they agree to take the laptop for check and if possible then repair, they kept the laptop for around two days and return the laptop after delete all our data and delete few apps. well this was so frustrating now we are planing to go to consumer court for the same. but yes a big noooooooo to Lenovo and and bigger No for Harvey Norman.. all the way
Good laptop for this money – It has touch screen, light weight and even ssd memory. Of course it can’t be used for coding, or photoshop software, but for general purpose, it has very good performance. If it has the capability of increasing memory, it would be great. I used it as laptop and tablet, and this is great for busy days. Show details
Don't waste your time – Terrible laptop, slow to start, struggles to run multiple things at once and battery runs for 30mins at full charge. Parts of the keyboard stopped working about 2 months after I got it and I had it repaired, only for the keys to stop working again. Some things to do with $600 that are a better use of money than buying this laptop: flushing the… Read more
money down the toilet, giving the money to a cult, setting fire to the money, or, cutting the money into tiny little pieces to create some pretty confetti and throwing it outside on a windy day save your time and money.
Terrible piece of crap – I am really disappointed by this machine, and worse by officeworks which is where I bought it. It constantly flickers, I have done a million things to fix it, there are constant updates and it depends on which software is running as to how bad the flickering is. An absolute waste of money. I wish wish wish I had never bought it. Show details
50:50 chance – I bought two exact same laptop for my sons, one did not last, it does not work within 10 months, many keys stopped working and touch screen not sensitive enough. However the other one still going. Could be because of non standard quality produced thus each machine performs differently to other. Show details
After 2 months running, got repeated intermittent faults – Bought on 7 Oct 2017, ran OK until around start of Dec. Then kept having problems trying to start it. Often it would start and the screen was blank or flashing horizontal lines. Would force turn it off and then try again and it would work. Every time we get a windows update, this kind of behaviour always increases in frequency. Very frustrating. I… Read more
talked to the IT support guy at work who always buys Lenovo for the work computers and he said the Yoga line generally tends to have lots of problems so he won't buy them. On the Internet, lots of people reporting the blank screen problem for Yoga 500s and 510s.
Went back to Noel Leemings where I bought it and complained - got the "we have to send it to our repair firm and if its a software fault then fixing it means a $ charge to you" so parked sending it off under warranty until I figure out what's best to do
Go buy a more expensive Dell instead - don't buy Lenovo
Amazing upgrade – Very impressed with the start up speed, excellent battery life. The power cord could have a little extra length to it. My only other slight complaint is that it doesn't fit the standard laptop cases that are readily available- you know the pretty ones in accessory shops otherwise I'm very pleased with the purchase. Worth the money Show details

Great laptop – Got this laptop last year and it has been great. Very easy to use and quite fast. The great thing about it is that it is touch screen so you can tap onto different areas without using the mouse much. Also the fact that you can transform it into a tablet is very handy Show details
Lenovo warranty fail – I bought the Lenovo laptop for my daughter for the school bring your own device program in January 2017. Last Friday after I brought her home from school, the screen would not turn on. I took it back to JB HIFI on Saturday 10/6/2017 and explained it was for school and needed to be repaired ASAP. They said Lenovo would pick it up via courier for… Read more
repair Monday. I checked with Lenovo today, 16/6/2017 and they said it was booked for pick up today, as one on Tuesday wasn't done. As I had said it was used for school and is used everyday. It was just outside the swap for a new one period by a month or so, but when I said to JB HIFI, that I feel Lenovo had dropped the ball and should swap it for a new one, they just said it was the way the Lenovo warranty worked and would take it no further. Just give it to the courier to send it to the eastern states for repair.
Be aware of this when you buy Lenovo products. You could be without it for up to 6 weeks when it dies.
Next time I'm back to HP.
Not happy at all with the way Lenovo or JB HIFI have handled it.
