Try to avoid this model – Got 2 and both of them got home issues with the screen, loose cable or something that screen goes funny time to time or grey. The graphic card also does not support some new models of monitors. Show details
Perfect for the price – I bought this laptop in 2018 and it is still going strong. It’s perfect for all my needs. Although it doesn’t have a lot of power if you want to run big programs. For normal use it’s been everything I’ve needed :) Show details
Fab midrange laptop – I purchased the Lenovo Yoga 520 i5 14" 2-in-1 Laptop (Onyx Black) in November 2017 for $999 and it has done me beautifully! Ok so storage space has been a bit of an issue when i downloaded Google Drive to my desktop, so i had to adapt to using google drive online. The screen has to be positioned at the right angle or it appears black and you can’t… Read more
see the picture. But other than that, it’s been fab! And it’s still going strong! I think most people only write reviews when they are unhappy rather than happy.
SO MANY ISSUES – The laptops fans are loud and don’t work well, the screen often gets frozen and the keyboard, touchscreen and even the power buttons don’t work when the screen gets frozen. This product was really disappointing and I would never recommend it Show details
This laptop drives me up the wall – I bought this laptop on sale end of 2018 as it was a good deal, around $900 and I needed a new laptop for uni. Lenovo was highly recommend so I thought what could go wrong? From day 1, this laptop has been incredibly slow to boot and run, it's ridiculous. It also gets overwhelmed very easily, and crashes and freezes sometimes for the stupidest… Read more
reason e.g. clicking on file explorer. I've had multiple laptops over the past few years, and this has 100% been the worst. I would have expected this quality from something that had been running for 5 years maybe, with heavy usage. I've barely used this as it frustrates me to no end. The worst thing is that when it gets in it's glitchy crashing state, nothing will snap it out. CTRL, ALT, DEL doesn't work, even holding down the power button for ages only puts it to sleep so that when I press it again, it's still frozen. I want so badly to get rid of this but I can't afford to fork out for another laptop so soon. I actually find it okay for gaming, or watching something when you've got it working - it's just the initial steps of getting to open a game or open Netflix that takes absolutely ages and the constant crashing drives me insane. I know it's not anything I've installed, or any viruses because it's been acting like this since I opened it before using any of the storage or installing anything. Ugh! Not buying Lenovo ever again
Can't open or close without back panel coming off – I had this laptop for just over 2 years when the TINY screw that holds the back right corner together came out. Luckily I found it but the thread had gone so it was useless to me. I rang JB Hi Fi and they said it was common and that I would have to take it to a repairman. I rang a couple and the prices were ridiculous. I taped the laptop together… Read more
on that side and that worked for about a month before the other screw popped out. The laptop is now kept permanently open because I'm so afraid to close it which means I have to cover it to stop dust from getting in. I could not be more frustrated and will never buy a Lenovo product again.
very disappointing - breaks quickly – Laptop itself worked fine for about a month, then the hinges started to act up and eventually the right one broke completely. You have to hold the hinge in place while opening or closing the laptop or the entire back panel peels off. I had warranty so i sent it in to lenovo, who didn't respond for a week beyond the time they said it would take,… Read more
told me they'd have a look, and a week later told me it was user damage, even though its clearly a manufacturing error, and would cost me half the price of the laptop to fix. Recently, about a year on from buying the laptop, the pen pressure sensitivity is screwing up, where the screen doesn't register the difference between the pen hovering and the pen actually on the screen. There's also significant input lag for the pen. The battery also runs out very quickly, even on energy saving mode. I will never buy a Lenovo laptop again and I would recommend no one else does either.
Not bad. Doea everything I need – Got this for uni originally so i could use the tablet feature and write. That did not work out so well. Never really go the hang of using it and the writing functionality just did not seem intuative or easy. That said it goes ok. Not too bad for battery life. Keyboard is good. Screen is nice but suffers from glare. Really needs an antiglare… Read more
screen protector. I take this away for work occasionally. It is a bit heavy in the briefcase. Overall the performance has been good. Battery does not seem to have deteriorated over the almost 2 years I have had it. I did have to buy a laptop chill mat to get 4 more usb ports to use. More ports on the unit would have been good
Great, stylish – This is a phenomenal 2-in-1 laptop tablet. It is fast, lightweight and just powerful enough. You definitely can't play any serious games on this, but it is perfect for work and study. The only other con I can mention is that there is no CD input. The keyboard backlight makes the laptop easy to use in all situations. Very handy as well is the… Read more
multiple USB slots and even a HDMI slot.
I highly recommend this laptop to students as it is fantastic in many different scenarios.
Computer randomly crashes: Lenovo response poor – The Lenovo brand has taken a dive for. I was after a AOI and not really wanting to buy a Mac. So JB-HiFi had the Lenovo on offer and I was persuaded to take it. It began randomly crashing after about six weeks, and this afternoon, the Compliance Manager accepted it was 'a dodgy' but would only offer a refund, and no assistance or advice about… Read more
basic issues like transferring data and completely wiping the hard drive before handing it back. I've now been told that any further response will be treated as spam, unless it refers to the date at which I will take back their dodgy machine. ".. , the only resolution that will be offered is a refund through the retailer. "
Excellent, Works Perfect , Value for money – Was a bit sceptic about the Lenovo brand. But now feel it’s a great buy. The Lenovo yoga 520 has a very responsive touch screen and laptop handles the program we use with ease. Battery life is Great. but depends on the brightness settings. Overall is great affordable lap top Show details
