LG OLED dodgy remote – Purchased a new LG OLED nonsense TV and the remote was working properly. The power light would stay on and then remote couldn't be used. Raised with support 2 months ago and has been a terrible experience. Cannot advise on when the remote will be delivered and what has been arranged. Asked multiple times via chat and calling them. Each time unhelpful and try get rid of you ASAP once you tell them you're having issues.

I can't believe new TVs can have these issues and LG basically abandon you.

I would not recommend any LG products based on my experience. Next time would be something cheaper or more expensive just not from LG.

Simply, another high quality OLED 4K TV from LG – So a number of factors led me to buying another LG 4k TV. The main one was that I needed a TV with all the inbuilt Apps (including Foxtel), plus the audio on the old tv was sounding a bit garbled when playing movies and it was over 10 years old, anyway good enough excuses. So I went with another LG. Reasons being: 1: They are leading the pack in screen quality and the quality of software and overall product. 2: They have all the inbuilt Apps pre-loaded. (There's only a few high end manufacturers that do this now) 3: Their magic remotes are easier to use than all others on the market.

I preferred the OLED rather than the QNED. Simply because I wanted my blacks to be black. Seriously if you're watching this tv in a completely dark room and the screen goes dark during the show, then you'll really understand how totally black, black can be.

Pros: Faster processor. As soon as the TV is switched on, I can change channels and make other changes. Previously with the old LG 4k I had to wait 30 seconds for the valves to heat up before I could make any changes. Screen colours are crisp, Sound quality is a vast improvement with more bass.

Cons: The screens nowadays are so thin that the top half of the screen now bends like cheese if you try and pick it up by the top of the screen - don't do it. Lifting has to be done via the lower portion of the tv only. The mounting at the rear of the tv is entirely different to previous versions, and as such I had to re-drill and re-mount the tv wall mount. Both of these issues are not really issues, just a caution and a little more time required for mounting.

So as with all products these days, quality products cost a little extra. You're paying for software development and screen quality. If you buy a cheap big screen tv, you'll be getting cheap nasty tv with the low end, useless apps.

Also don't forget that this is no longer a tv, it's a computer, and as such requires a fair bit of initial setting up, downloading and installing the latest software, creating accounts, programming and laying out how your most used apps are seen and accessed. Took me a good 2-3 hours to install and setup. Luckily this is the part I enjoy.

So to sum up, this is a great TV. Excellent display and sound quality and the software is intuitive to use, even for a 60 year old.
