LG BP125 Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhy doesn't this Blu-ray player play American Gangster Blu-ray disc?
I bought this player mainly for the USB function. My 750gb hard drive is recognized and works fine but when I plug my 3tb in it won't let me access it. I've tried using different cables, it's not an issue with them. Is there a limit on the hard drive size I can use?
I doubt there's a limit. I bought three of these units* for the same reason as you did, primarily USB. I have run them with 1TB units... and they work OK. When I get a free moment, i'll run a 3TB unit and see what happens... .
* We maintain a guesthouse for friends and rellies... and so far, no-one has reported any problems.
Maybe their portable drives are all < 3TB(?)
I tried it with my 1tb that was formatted in ntfs and it didn't work. My 500gb formatted in fat 32 worked ok. I normally only use this with it a 32gb usb stick formatted in fat 32, I don't know how much power they can supply? My 2c worth. Good luck
Can I record tv shows to a USB using this device? I was told by a dick smith rep that it could do this bit I can't work out how. Can't even get the tv to run through the player
We haven't used any of our three LG BP125s to record. We've used three different modes of play, including portable hard drives and thumb drives. Suggest you visit Dick Smith, to explain the situation. Take the unit with you and request a step-by-step explanation. When you've written each step down, file the procedure in a HOW2 folder on your desktop.
No, you cannot record TV shows to this unit, as it is not a PVR. The only USB recording that you can do, according to LG's website, is as follows: A powerful and easy to use function that allows you to directly extract audio tracks from CDs, transfer them to a USB device. Just insert a CD and make your own MP3 music file collection. (It's also mentioned on page 36 of the owner's manual.) If one of the reasons you purchased this unit was to record TV shows, based on (incorrect) information provided by a Dick Smith staff member, then as it is not fit for purpose you should be entitled to a refund, provided you purchased it quite recently. Best of luck.
