LG GC-L197DPNL (567L, Silver)

Its lasted longer than I expected – Bought my fridge around 8 years ago at least. In that time it has done great. The water/ice dispenser crapped itself only 2 years ago. But now, the refreshment center is failing. It continues to beep, change temperatures, turns on the light, the express freeze all the time. Avoid this dud – Very noisy fridge ended up getting a service guy to check out the noise said there is no problems and couldn’t fix it. So ended up putting some foam on the back to stop the rattle sound. Now after 2 and a half years the water and ice dispenser stops working for no reason at all (checked if it was frosted over and all tubing was fine).  Show details

Poor quality – 5 years in since we bought the fridge, the freezer is no longer holding temperature and isn't actually capable of freezing anything anymore. for the price I expected more than 5 years before problems occur. Our last fridge was over 20 years old! Ice dispenser occasionally kicks the door open, just plain poor design / poorly manufactured. Not a good product. Expensive to fix, will avoid LG products from now on.  Show details

Do not buy an LG – great then door dented (replaced twice) ice maker stopped working (replaced) in 18 months , now fridge not holding temperature. Ringing LG for warranty (frig not 2 yrs ) total nightmare, no service , no return calls. 8th phone call, frig still warm ( then told buy an esky !!!!!!!!)  Show details

Ice Maker is Junk – The side by side Fridge and freezer units are convenient and work fine. The fridge is quiet, but!! The Ice maker is junk. shut to use freezer at all. We have had the fridge for 5 years and have had 3 freezer doors and multiple technician calls. LG have not been helpful until we went to the Tribunal. Then they agreed to refund our money. We have just purchased the same style of Fridge Freezer from Samsung and are quiet nervous about how it will perform.

Stupid design – Ive had the fridge for a year. No major problems however i HATE the water jug! Too hard to reinsert properly after refilling, only useful for ice because the water is just like the tap when you dispense it - not cold at all! friend and partner cant get it either. Just dealing with the stupid beep instead as i have given up. I feel like selling and buying another fridge! What a gimmick

happy so far – Only had it for a few months, but I'm quite happy with it. hand fridge which was not sealed properly anymore and made the noise of an airplane, so any new fridge is a vast improvement! it looks great too. size, value for money, non plumbed water/ice dispenser so far so good
