LG GC-P197DPL (563L, Platinum)

Great fridge/freezer – Had this for about 7 years now. Hasn't missed a beat. (Vegetable draws a little plasticy and LED above the water/ice despenser has blown) highly recommend. Chills and freezes everything as it should.

Do Not Buy LG – The freezer door started to rust under the ice maker after 2 years and only got worse unfortunately I didn't get onto LG soon enough and they disowned it -- still working but quite a noisy fridge with a very low energy efficiency rating. I would not buy LG again as they have had energy efficiency issues in the past.

Love the fridge – I have had my fridge for over 2 yrs now and have never had any issues at with it. I am reading all these reviews and Im like WOW! really?! I admit it is a bit loud every now and then but thankfully no issues aside from that (which I do not consider really an issue at all, its not THAT loud).

Poor water dispenser design – First of all I will say that my model is not this exact one, it is probably slightly older. But the water dispenser has a design flaw which over time lets small amounts of spilled water into the door, causing rust under the dispenser. Lg did replace the doors without a fuss as we were within the 2 year warranty period, but then it happened again. The other problem I had was food freezing occasionally on the top shelf. I also wouldn't recommend this design in any brand of fridge, it's very difficult to fit larger items in it due to the narrow spaces.

I will still give 3 stars though, because while I have owned this fridge for 7 years and am now looking for a new one, it has never broken down.
