Brilliant – Bought this fridge/freezer nine years ago and really can't complain. Today it gave a fan error, so I removed the food and let the unit defrost ( as per manufacturers manual ) and it's working again. The only other issue I had was a broken shelf a few years ago, which was the kids fault. DONT BUY ANY LG FRIDGE – I bought LG friend few years back and just after the warranty finished, it stated making weird noise which is very loud. I called LG support few times but they are not helpful at all. I had lot of other issues and I wouldn’t recommend to buy any LG fridge. What a nightmare ! – Vegetables freezing in their compartment was an intermittent problem for us. More recently the Error FF kept coming up requiring the fridge to be switched off and on again. 4 service calls and 2 replacement parts and replacement fan later we thought it was fixed. and get warm. Calls to 'Customer Care' (read don't care) yielded nothing more than useless advice and requiring more and more proof of error over their dodgy website upload area. Waste of my money and now a lot of time. Even Fair Trading was not able to yield a result with LG. NEVER AGAIN!

Worst Fridge Freezer ever!!! – Obviously a bad product from the beginning. working and I lost about $300.00 worth of food which I had to dispose of as it had gradually defrosted while I had been at work all day:( Less than 3 months later and now the fridge is starting to freeze the contents again. Now LG have sent out a technician to provide a report, they even did a temperature monitor over a few days. Not good, although the temp gage on the fridge says 6 degrees, the data logger report shows temps between 0 degrees and 12 degrees, very variable. Trying to make contact with LG is a nightmare, on hold for 40-50 minutes sometimes. "Apologies" and "I understand Mr ..."but no real meaning behind it, promises to call you back that never happen, emails that are never received, phone calls never returned, offers of food compensation that never eventuate. Poor quality shelving that cracks and breaks way too easy. I need a new fridge freezer but it won't be an LG product! For such an expensive product and reputable company I expected so much more.

Would love for LG to contact me instead of me doing all the chasing??

getting nowhere with the customer service people. For such an expensive fridge and a so called reputable company I expected a lot better...And don't get me started on the unsightly corrosion around the water and ice dispenser and the brittle shelves. Not happy....

Dreadful fridge & freezer – Worst fridge & freezer. I will never buy an LG product again. Obviously been sold a lemon. I got sick of calling a technician & LG, not to mention the cost & inconvenience. No wonder LG have discontinued it. Fridge freezes food even after adjusting temperature control. Ice maker not functioning at intervals.

Hate it – Worst fridge ever will never buy a lg again , the front door is peeling the ice machine stopped working all the shelves r cheap and break easy

they were then always kept to the right of the fridge and we adjusted the temperature of the freezer. Now just 4 months out of warranty we got an error message on the display panel and the fridge was not feeling 'cold' throughout, barely cool at the top. A call to the LG number and they had no clue as to what it meant (Er rF); we finally got a call back late the next day from the LG repairers to say as it was out of Warranty we were obviously not a priority and it would be three weeks before they could look at it - and they waited until the end of the day to tell us this (oh, and he had no clue what the error message meant either).

The electrician we got, inspected the power board, he said it looked fine (ie no power surge burnouts). He pointed out the back of the bottom of the freezer was icing up which we hadn't noticed. What is the point of an error display if it only reports a fault after it is completely 'stuffed' and not when the problem initially started. Basically the fault is with the signal from the power board to the defroster - both seem to be working but not correctly or properly and it's likely the defroster has been damaged.

As far as we are concerned this should be rectified by LG as this problem, though intermittent, commenced within the two year warranty period; it's just that it didn't actually fail until outside of the two years. Our electrician felt this issue should be covered by LG as it was clear the fault had been going on for a while and that the power board should certainly be expected to last much much longer 2+years! Replacing the power board and defroster will be over half the cost of the fridge and the electrician has advised it is not worth having repaired; he advised us to chase up LG but we have rung LG and they are not interested. This is the last LG appliance we will ever buy.

UPDATE: We did eventually receive a new fridge as this one was unable to repaired. It took many many phone calls having to go through the call centre again and again. This particular model obviously had many design faults and LG were aware of this.

Failure of basic ability to run through it's cycles and expensive parts required when it is just out of warranty.

Absolutely hopeless – Like others below food keeps on freezing in the fridge section but only sometimes. Ours is 3 years old now but a fridge should last longer than that. I wouldn't buy another lg fridge.

Mine also failed after 14 months – Like other review below my LG 2 door, $2000 fridge also had the compressor fail after 14 months. LG has been absolutely unresponsive and uncaring in getting me a new Fridge or even a replacement. buying This Fridge as its totally unreliable, in my experience.

Froze food, then stopped due to motor/compressor failure. LG Customer service has been unresponsive and in my experience, uncaring.

The LG Lemon - Pathetic Warranty Service – The Fridge - worked well for the first 14 months then with no warnining, just died. I would have expected more from a $2000 fridge freezer. Last fridge lasted over 20 years. It happened to die at the hottest time of the year (35C+) the day after Christmas. Lost about $300+ worth of food. We have been living out of a camp fridge ever since. You need to be able to trust your fridge that stuff will be cold and frozen when you get back - not the case here.

Warranty Service - What a nightmare. I ring LG and spend an hour on hold nearly every day and have been passed from department to department. Took 9 days for a service technician to turn up only to say it was either out of gas or the compressor is gone. Given the compressor was not turning over at all, I would say it was the compressor (my uneducated opinion). Neither of these LG fix and replacement is supposed to happen - when? 15 days later and still no fridge and coming into another weekend. The call centre is a nightmare. Often you can't get though, you enter your number but no one rings you back.

UPDATE - 21 days later - Replacement fridge finally delivered and old broken down fridge removed. Issue resolved, but not without drama. Hope this one lasts longer then the last one. Nice fridge/Freezer - when it worked Only worked for 12 months. Warranty Service is a nightmare.

Not as good as I would have hoped for the price – I have had problems with vegetables rotting after a week in the vegetable bin and other items such as fruit, milk and other items freezing in the refrigerator area also the ice maker is quite small which is quite disappointing. Excellent Fridge/Freezer – Great Fridge/Freezer combo with water & ice, had a american one before this and it sucked. The freezer storage is excellent by removing the large ice bulkhead and placing it in the door. Heaps more room for storage.
