a solid TV so far. I hope it's sorth the spend Show details
CANNOT JUST TURN IT ON AND WATCH A SHOW. Always takes ages to start up- usually 4-5 minutes that's providing you don't need an "update " which always takes even longer. Then it wants you to sign up to LG so it will do the update, which no doubt will lead to endless spam emails. Have 2 Older SONY tvs and with both , you just turn it on and start… Read more
watching, no nonsense no endless "steps". The remote is awful, jumps around and difficult to use. Will never by a LG tv again.
Tv is clear and colourful has more things on the tv that we don’t know how to use could be a better use of the tv but service providers may need to show the best aspects of the tv Show details
Follow-up · The extra features on the tv look good but I don’t know how to us the so it is a be of a waste. You be better if when buying the tv we are shown how to use the features
Just bought a new QNED81ASA TV only to find that it comes with this hideous remote. Having purchased the UR8050 in 2023, I was expecting the same Magic Remote. But no, this "new" remote is dysfunctional... 1) No numeric keypad to select channels. 2) The "Quick Access" channel selection now obsolete due to no numeric keypad. 3) No dedicated Mute… Read more
button. For some reason you have volume down to mute, then readjust the volume up to unmute.
4) No coloured buttons to enable easy Guide navigation.
5) No dedicated Input button.
I am extremely disappointed with my LG purchase because of this inferior remote.
If you are hard of hearing, it’s not great quality sound. All sound goes out the back. Had to buy a sound bar. Easy to use apps. But a lot of the home stuff and pinned sections were useful for us. Picture quality is ok. Can choose what you prefer, but during the day when there’s a dark or night scene on tv you cannot see anything!!! Reflection… Read more
is pretty bad. If you’re on a budget, it’s fine. If you have extra to spend- move along to something better.
The screen is adequate nothing that makes me say OMG, however the remote is an absolute piece of crap. Every time you try and change channel you end up with a cursor floating around on the screen and you have to try and get it to line up with what you want. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!!!! We bought this TV about a year and a half ago and the bleeding is ridiculous. Dark scenes are unwatchable with flashes of light coming from the bottom and the top of the TV. Watching normal TV (free to air) is fine and sports is good also. But if you want a good family movie experience then this TV is certain to disappoint. I sent videos and… Read more
images to LG and after months of communication they come back to tell me that it looks good to them and offered to send out a technician at my expense even though the TV is still under warranty.... Extremely disappointing.
Magic Remote control total waste. Stick to old fashioned remotes! – So-called "Magic" remote control extremely poorly made & shonky. The roller-ball mechanism broke off & dropped into cavity, rendering remote control totally not working at all. Took me a long time getting satisfactory results & replacement remote control. Not helped at all with LG's Call Centre staff with extremely accented English!
Terrific QNED TV to watch the Paris 2024 Olimpics – This TV was purchased in Poland. We bought this LG Qned 55" TV to replace old Samsung for watching the Paris 2024 Olimpics. Initially we wanted to buy Samsung QLED 50" but these were sold out and hence we decided to consider also other brand and finally bought LG QNED 55" TV based on comparison of the Samsung Qled & LG Qned specifications. … Read more
And we are now very happy as the LG 55QNED813RE 55'' 4K 120Hz is an excellent TV that could be watched during day in a bright room without using curtains or shutters ‼️
In conclusion, in my opinion the QNED TV seems to be performing better in comparison with OLED or QLED TVs particularly during day in bright rooms.
Adequate picture, but let down in too many other areas – Note that this review is for the 43" version of this TV. Good points: Nice colours - saturated but not overdone. "Film Maker" mode works really well. The TV's handling of content with differing frame rates is excellent. The built-in WiFi is decent (although not WiFi 6). Good remote. Good TV OS (interface). Bad points: Relatively narrow viewing… Read more
angle. Picture overall is a bit dim. The TV really struggles to provide decent contrast in darker scenes, and the Local Dimming setting is terrible (as the TV is edge lit it creates lighter blotches all over the place in darker scenes). When accessing the settings menu it takes forever to load, up to about 10 seconds. This TV really needs a faster processor.
The "meh": The internal speakers are particularly bad. The manual to assemble the stand is terrible. The interface is strewn with poor translations from (presumably) Korean to English. You'd think a large company like LG could get this right.
Overall I'm disappointed with this TV. The dim screen, poor viewing angle, lousy local dimming and the generally poor contrast don't make up for the positives.
*UPDATE*
I've spent a bit of time tweaking the settings to try and fix some of the above mentioned problems. On standard dynamic range content I'd rate the picture as adequate - bright enough (barely).
However on HDR content it really struggles. The picture is just a dim, muddy mess, to the point of being unwatchable. I stream from an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. I have disabled HDR on this device and the picture improves somewhat, but I'd still rate it as poor.
LG QNED81SRA 65inch TV – Great TV as long as you don't want to connect any external devices! I've had nothing but trouble trying to maintain a connection to my soundbar and DVD recorder. I've purchased expensive HDMI cables that haven't helped - my DVD recorder (which is brand new) now doesn't connect at all and the soundbar only connects via Bluetooth which had rendered… Read more
the subwoofer useless. Both devices were working previously, but all of a sudden chose not to connect. The frustration is mounting!!
Nightmare TV Experience with LG QNED81 55 inch 4K Smart TV – I purchased the LG QNED81 55 inch 4K Smart TV directly from LG online on 31 July 2023 for $1395 and my experience has been nothing short of a disaster. Within a couple of weeks, a dull vertical patch appeared right through the middle of the screen, making the viewing experience unbearable. To add insult to injury, the TV developed a bizarre habit… Read more
of turning itself on at the most inconvenient times, disrupting my household's sleep.
In my attempt to resolve these issues, I reached out to LG's customer support. They directed me to their service partner, Tech1, who took the TV away for 11 days to replace the screen backlight. While the screen appeared normal upon return, the problem of the TV turning itself on persisted. Annoyed, I reported the ongoing issue to LG, and they suggested changing some settings. Despite my efforts, the problem persisted.
Frustrated with the lack of resolution, I requested a refund, only to be met with resistance from LG. They insisted on sending a Tech1 technician to examine the TV, with a ridiculous condition that I would have to pay the call-out fee if no fault was found. This, in my opinion, is outrageous customer service. I argued that I shouldn't bear the cost for a defective product, but LG was unyielding.
To make matters worse, the wait times to speak to someone in customer support were excruciatingly long, often exceeding an hour. This lack of prompt and efficient service only added to my dissatisfaction.
In conclusion, my experience with the LG QNED81 55 inch 4K Smart TV and LG's customer service has been a nightmare. The recurring issues with the TV and the company's unwillingness to provide a satisfactory solution have left me deeply disappointed. This is not a company I would recommend or ever consider doing business with again.
