Love it – Used as the main TV in the home for the past 4 years, the picture quality is outstanding and there is more than enough connectivity to handle everything we need. Pros: Great resolution, solid upscaling, Smart functions easy to use. Cons: Wireless connectivity can be a bit flaky sometimes. Overall a good unit but not sure that it's worth the asking price. Huge television with very good quality & functions – 1) LG has done really good work by creating this peace, which has really sharp pictures in 4k 2) up-scaling of old movies to full HD also works really great and you will hardly notice any distortion in picture. 3) provided Magic-remote is really good feature to select options on huge screen Show details
Great picture quality and online connectivity – We've had this TV for about 2 years and are thoroughly enjoying it. Our top uses are with kids' TV, freeview, integrated web apps (youtube, netflix), and in conjunction with the bluray dvd player. Not much sports gets watched. Picture quality is crisp and fast motion appears smooth and without lag. Blu-ray DVDs are especially gorgeous. The user… Read more
interface and apps ecosystem are easy to navigate, I have not once had to refer to the manual. The smart remote is a great feature, reducing effort on scrolling or numerous clicks to reach a target. We have not connected an external sound device, finding the native speakers suitable for our usage (ie. kids and family viewing).
There is an LG phone app which can give your mobile phone functionality to act as a remote for this TV, but I have been unable to get it to work. This isn't a huge loss for me.
All in all I am more than happy with this product as it does everything we need, with excellent picture quality.
Ok – Picture quality good. does not like to pair with LG soundbar, hates NETFLIX, annoying as takes forever to start and set up each time, sick of it now, instead go in to watch 40 inch older tv in other room as better and less frustrating.4K a total waste of time in Australia as virtually nothing is broadcast in 4K, and if you find one it takes four hours to watch a two hour movie because of Australia's hopelessly slow internet speeds. Great smart tv – This TV has lasted us very well for over 2 years. The smart functions are really good, easy to navigate however the remote recently has become really crappy and we have been changing batteries every 2 days. Apart from that the tv itself is good.
We probably felt we should have stuck to Samsung – The picture quality is off and on depending on the channel! It would take a long time to adjust it correctly. We were very disappointed in the beginning but have gotten used to the quality. If we had the option we would have not got the LG and stuck with Samsung unfortunately. Show details
Fantastic 4K TV – We looked at many TVs before purchasing this beauty! The picture quality is amazing, it has the Harmon Kardon sound which is great (obviously a home theater system would be better with a good sub) Easy to use features, looks absolutely amazing mounted on my wall in the theatre room! Have no issues recommending this great product, absolutely smashes my 55inch Samsung - in every department!! Show details
Backlight Takes Its Toll Only After One Year And Half – Not sure if it is this model but it surely is 65'' UHD with two speakers on each side. Pretty sad it goes down only after one year and half. Normally I think the back light lasts longer than one year but in this odd case it is not. I try to think it is because of the retailer's not manufacturer's problem.
Terrible sound – We have had this TV for about 1 month now. The size is great for our average sized lounge room and the smart TV component is relatively easy to use and intuitive. The image is great for watching cricket but was a bit slow for tennis, Serena Williams looked to be twirling a yellow ribbon rather than bouncing a ball. The worst thing about the TV is… Read more
the poor sound quality. When watching a DVD the sound needs to be on MAX and is still inefficient. Normal TV requires the volume to be up quite loud also. Fortunately we did buy an LG sound bar which works well. It was very easy to set up the smart TV apps like Netflix, and to connect DVD player and soundbar was also seamless. The remote was able to operate our soundbar but not the DVD player (old sony). Overall we are happy with the TV but not sure I would recommend it for the price.
Fantastic TV, Easy to use and great features – Excellent TV, great picture quality. Magic remote with mouse pointer makes operating it so easy, especially the smart system, Netflix etc! Also have a wireless keyboard connected which works perfect. I exchanged a Sony we purchased for this as the menu system on that was a nightmare as was the thumb swipe remote in comparison to this mouse pointer… Read more
unit. The Sony also didn't have USB as an input option instead you had to use a crap app while the LG has USB as an input. Previous TV was an LG also and had it for 4 years, glad to see they are still making top quality with great options and menu systems.
Excellent TV – Bought as water damaged stock at auction so expectations were low. After setup I quickly discovered a huge range in picture quality depending on tv channel. I then connected to Youtube and played 4K content. Now that is what I was expecting. Absolutely crystal clear. Bluray dvd playback is awesome . Next step is to upgrade AV Receiver to 4K Dolby Atmos and DTS .X. Well done LG
Very Disappointed – I bought this TV as I wanted to go larger than my previous one. Looking at the 60 inch models, the salesman pointed me to this one due to 200Hz and the smart remote. Since taking delivery, I must say I wish I never bought it. The picture is terrible. Unless you are watching an image that does not move or moves very slowly, the refresh rate is poor… Read more
at best. I have spoken to the people where I bought it from and to LG. They have suggested I try different picture settings, and try resetting the TV itself, etc etc. No good. I watched the Big Bash Cricket the other night and the ball was like a shooting star across the screen. The painted white circles they have on the inner oval looked like white worms going across the screen. The only thing I do like is the smart TV functions, but all I want is a good picture. My last TV was far better.
If you want good picture, do not buy this TV. Don't make the same mistake I did
LG 55” UHD Smart TV – LG smart TV makes for an enjoyable home entertainment system. The smart technology is very intuitive and very easy to use and operate. Online support videos and tutorials are very helpful. Picture quality is excellent. However, the TV sound quality is not great. For better sound quality, the TV needs to have a sound bar or home theatre system connection.

All that I wanted but – When we discovered Netflix as an entertainment medium we decided that we'd flick our 32" and get a big screen. (Lets face it, free to air TV programming surely doesn't justify TV viewing, nor does Sky unless you're into paying for sport and advertising, but good movies advert free for a minimal monthly cost - well that's different . We chose LG… Read more
because of it's unique remote control and ease of use. We bought a Samsung sound-bar to compliment it. A great combo! I recommended it to a friend and he went for the same. He loves his music and Netflix too.
A real bonus was VTuner Internet radio available as an App for listening to great music from all over. . Alas, it seems a dispute over licencing or something means the plug is pulled on that App on LG TV..
A websearch reveals that this is not unusual unfortunately. So that sage advice becomes - "buyer be-aware"!!
its the best for the value – It's the best tv you could buy for the money... And it have great picture quality and lot of function which makes you happy man while watching tv.....
best tv for the price – lg tv colour and sound are fantastic, customer care response is good, easy to understand, magic remote very good, any people can play with this rewote. Real smartness is in this tv. It is very much comparable with Brands Like Sony and Samsung. It is hard in surface. No glare and viewing angle is good. In HD channels vow, super lative in clarity and colour, sound is enough for a hose, and stereo effect great.
Ultra HD Here We Come :) – I was on the look out for a bigger Screen, not really looking for a TV as such at the time. I almost went for the Phillips 40" Ultra HD model. However when I saw a deal at the Good Guys for this model I could not hold back. It was 43" and had lots of interesting features. I am glad I went for this Ultra HD TV and even though I spend $300 more… Read more
than what I was hoping to spend it was worth it. Picture quality is a 6 Step Up-scaling IPS Panel. As some of you know IPS panel produce the most accurate reproduction of any signal.
I have played a few 4K & Ultra HD content on this TV and was / still very impressed by its quality.
Grab one while the price is still low. The price has dropped a bit still even lower than what I paid.
+Great 4K Quality re-production.
+IPS 100HZ refresh rate (1080p only)
+4K support (yes will go further than Ultra HD)
+Freeview Plus support and PVR recrorder
+Great Quality TV speakers
+Quality made pannel
+2015 model for latest Ultra HD Blu-Ray
-Does not have Display Port inputs (HDMI version 2 only - but supports 60hz at Ultra HD)
The only thing that is a bit of a let down is it doesn't have Display Port Inputs and only HDMI version 2. Not a lot of graphics cards or devices support HDMI version 2 at the moment. I would have to upgrade my media-center graphics card, so that I can take advantage of the 60hz refresh rate. Not a big problem, but would require spending money to take advantage of future Ultra HD Films that I am hearing need 60hz refresh rates.
I am interested to know if this panel is 10 bit or more. Let me know if anyone else knows.
