Despite the advertised capacity of washer and dryer there is only one programme that allows capacity, I purchased at $4999 due to capacity so I… Read more

didn’t have to go to the laundry mat to wash and dry king size Donna’s, $4999 later I’ll still be heading to the laundry mat because the 19 kilo washing machine will only wash a 5 kilo doona… on the very first wash I had a dripping doona dragging it over my brand new floors to hang on the line because the washer kept stopping with the warning off balance. This wash a complete waste of money. It also used absolutely none of the fabric softener, I always use fabric softener in every single wash, nothing is coming out smelling fresh. I’d really like a refund! Especially given the price has dropped by $1000. The unit itself is incredibly bulking and juts out taking up all the laundry space, I had to remove shelves from to opposite wall for it to fit. I think this is my worst purchase regarding any laundry machine!

Follow-up  · Okay so this machine has more issues than current world politics! I’ve has a LG repair person here who stated the dryers won’t dry in most Australian weather in winter, it will take 6/7 cycles to dry something. LG themselves stated in winter it takes several cycles to dry and it also depends on where the machine is housed. So this massive… Read more

Follow-up  · LG seemed surprised when I told them that the repair man stated the heat pump dryers should not be sold in Tasmania because they simply don’t work in cold weather, this is exactly what lg staff themselves told me, that during cold weather it may… Read more

And forget drying! LG told me Australia is cold currently so thought using 4 cycles to dry a small load was okay….

UPDATE: After 18 months we finally got some service and had a technician come out through our warranty claim. Turns out a plastic clip that keeps the drum in place was not secured correctly when manufactured causing the machine to go off balance (the clunking when washing) and spray water that leaked. Since repair there has been no issue. Just a… Read more

shame it took 18 months to be sorted.

Biggest regret! Waste of money, ours leaks seems to literally take hours for the dryer to finish a load, only for it not to be dry, have requested service and now no one wants to know about it! Neither the place we brought it from or LG

Do not purchase any product from LG. I am still in an agreement with LG over a faulty wash/dryer tower. These things have a design flaw and LG are aware of it but will do everything to blame the consumer. My washer leaks water and the service agent can not find where the leak is from. The dryer does not dry clothes efficiently. Towels over 24hours… Read more

and clothes anywhere from 6 hours. And yes the lint filters are cleaned after every use because the clothes will not dry otherwise. Lg have had their service agents out to do test with the control panel and have said that the machine is working correctly so if u are looking for an efficient wash/dryer than stay away from the LG wash dryer tower pieces of junk. Now the dryer door has a DEF2 code and LG are refusing to fix this issue as well. They are also having major issues with their fridges and the compressors failing. LG are blaming customers that they have caused the damage. Their customer care is there to throw you off the track by blaming the consumer. Each time you call back there is a different operator and you go round and round in circles until you give up. Their customer service send out bogus text messages to the customer advising of service calls and I even have a text message where the agent has sent me a case number for a full refund only to have the store tell me that LG have not sent it to them. Even my local store where I purchased the item is now trying to assist against LG. I feel sad for the elderly dealing with LG. This is a warning to boycott any product of LG. Infact it would be good to have everyone that has issues or had issues with LG to start a Class Action against them. I am happy to share all the videos taken to anyone that is wanting proof I will never purchase another LG product again.

WARNING TO NOT PURCHASE WASH DRYER TOWERS – *******DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT****** Rating of no star. Had brand new since 2023. Had a conventional heater element drier then moved to this tower unit. From the word go found that the clothes were not drying or it was taking hours to dry ( certainly not an ECO machine) Thought this was normal at the time but is continuing to deteriorate… Read more

to the stage were it is taking 24hours to dry towels. or ALL DAY to dry a normal mixed clothes load. The machine started to leak water from under the unit to the extent that it was pooling under the machine ( happy to supply anyone video or photos ) Called LG and they told me that the unit had not been set up and that if the technician was to attend and find it my fault then they would charge me. ( fairly normal ) technician attended and pulled the machine apart only to not be able to locate the leak. There is staining on the bottom plastic from water as it pools up and then leaks from the left hand corner. After the agent left it was about a week later that LG called me and told me that because they were not able to find a leak that i am liable for the cost of the technician to attend site. I spoke to the technician and they then contacted LG on my behalf and the charge cancelled. Since then the machine leaks intermittently on large and small loads. Technician has only just attended and can still not find where the leak is coming from. The Door is also now registering a DEF2 code and can be fixed with a switch. The most concerning issues is the dryer not drying loads. Now the service agent that I spoke to today has done everything in his power to put the blame on to me and this is what LG do. To everyone that calls up the service line their job is to blame the customer and FOB off any warranties or issues. The customer care agent has told me that the machine needs to be used in manual mode only ( what's the use of purchasing a machine like this to only use in manual.) through to I must be pressing the ECO button and then what topped it off is that he told me that the dryer will not dry clothes and they will still come out wet after the cycle is finished and this is normal. This is not normal at all and another service technician will be sent out only to do the same tests. The tech found that the dryer passed test however found abnormalities with the dryers functions. keeping in mind that it took over 3 hours to dry 2 size medium cotton shirts. One of the interesting points that the LG customer service agent said was that the dryer is only recommended for 4kg. our unit is the 12/9kg. if that is the case then that is misleading and open to a class action against LG for promoting a unit that is not designed as per advertised. I am not the only person that is having these same issues with the LG wash dryer towers. So PLEASE DO NOT purchase these machine or any machine from LG as they will not help you with any genuine concern.

Used washtower over 1yr - very happy but user interface could be better – Great washing machine and dryer. I’ve had it over a year now and couldn’t be happier. The heat pump dryer uses so little power and I’ve definitely noticed a drop in my water bills since getting this washing machine, yet it’s bigger than my old washing machine. The only thing I don’t like, is the screen. A washing machine and dryer combo like this… Read more

unit definitely deserves a makeover with a nice, large, proper colour screen that’s clearly laid out and has no tiny, confusing, flashing symbols that you need to look up in the manual to decipher. The interface leaves a lot to be desired but it’s not an huge deal. A large, clear, touch screen would make this unit so much better to use. Apart from that, it’s a ripper.

LG WashTower. LG worst company I've ever dealt with – We bought our WashTower from Harvey Norman and had it delivered in April during a house renovation. The machine was sitting in its box, inside for 3 months before it was installed 3 weeks ago. Initially I was very impressed, it was quiet, clothes came out clean and dry. After 3 days of use, when I put the dryer on an unbearable toxic smell started… Read more

filling my house and the clothes are coming out still damp and stink of fumes.

Contacted LG to be told this is "normal" and it will go away, try a drum clean and cleaning the sensor – Did that. Didn’t work.

Repairer came and looked at it, ordered a part and replaced the part a week later. I used the machine again and the smell starts again, and it's not drying.

Called LG to ask for a replacement machine or refund as it's clearly faulty. They have advised I will need to let the repairer take it away to their warehouse which I was advised are booked up for 10 business days, then from there could take a week or 2 to repair. Only if they are unable to repair will they authorise a replacement. I find it totally unreasonable that I am to be without a washer or dryer for at least a month. LG see this as a reasonable outcome.

This machine cost me $3550 and is an absolute lemon. I will never buy from LG again, the customer service has been appalling, I've had to chase up unreturned phone calls for days and they are now trying to palm me off to the retailer for a refund or replacement because I am refusing their "reasonable" resolution.

Poor quality, poor LG customer experience – The most disappointing purchase ever! After two months of purchase... - a piece from the gasket broke off. LG said it's not covered by manufacturer warranty and that it is considered usual wear and tear. It's ridiculous that after 2 months this is considered wear and tear and not a quality issue. I had my Miele washing machine for over 10 years… Read more

and this has not happened! We bought this to mainly wash our baby's clothing... even if the clothing touch the gasket I'm surprised it would tear a piece off. Upon reading reviews... this seem to have happened to others too. Save your money - purchase another brand washing machine. The dryer also doesn't dry the clothes and leaves it rather damp so we need to run two cycles. Extremely poor quality and this should not have happened. Extremely disappointed with the service from LG too.

LG washtower problems – Bought brand new LG washtower. Didn't work from the get go. Had to have a water pump installed. Repairers scratched the tower and bathrooom wall and LG are now saying to deal with their authorised repairers and have spent a number of hours chasing the issue up. Highly recommend NOT buying the washtower as it's caused, and continues to cause, problems. Show details

Poorly Manufactured LG Garbage! – After our previous old Bosch washing mchaine finally gave up after 15 years of use, we thought it was time to modernize our laundry. The LG wash tower ticked a lot of boxes as far as size and what we were after. After redesigning our laundry to fit this in, we found it quite good and easy to use. The LG Thin Q app is reasonably easy to use also. … Read more

After around 3 months of minimal use, we found that the dryer was making a banging noise. After lodging a warranty claim through LG and going through all the rigmarole and finally getting a response after weeks of backward and forward emailing, the LG service agent attended. I was surprised to be told by the LG service agent that the insulation around the drum had begun to fall apart. I questioned why this may have happened and was advised by the LG service agent that this is a common issue with the units. What made it worse was the fix for this issue.

The service agent advised me that LG’s repair procedure for this is to retake the damaged insulation backing place with a silver tape.

Being that the unit was only 4 months old, I quite rightly asked for a new machine which was rejected by LG.

In addition to this our very fancy LG microwave failed. NO MORE LG FOR ME! Cheap nasty product that do not last!

Paid so much to have the Worst experience – Our LG wash tower is only six months old, and we've had a terrible experience. After washing just two square cushion covers, two 40x40cm cushions, and two hand towels in the 17kg capacity washing machine, we found debris everywhere and the entire rubber rim shattered. The load was well within the machine's capacity, but customer service responded… Read more

of overloading, saying it caused a part to catch on the door or gasket.

Even before this incident, our clothes often had a mildew and musty smell after washing. I followed all the drum cleanse instructions and used a washing machine cleaner every 30 cycles, but the smell only got worse. I had to soak and hand wash all our clothes to get rid of it. Then, the rubber rim shredded to pieces, leaving the washer unusable. For the past few weeks, we've had to take our laundry to a local coin laundry while waiting for a response from customer service.

Dealing with LG customer service has been a nightmare. We waited nearly three weeks for a response, and they refused to honor the warranty. We paid $4,999 for a washer that failed due to poor materials and design, and the customer service team offered no support.

I've never experienced such dramatic damage with any appliance before, and the lack of customer service is incredibly disappointing.

Pleased with LG Washtower WWT-1710 – Purchased this machine as old one reached the end of its life. I purchased a liquid detergent dispenser for the main wash because I also use liquid detergent. I… Read more

think that this should be included as standard. That is my only gripe really.

I have an update regarding LG warranty process. I had an issue with a different LG product, where I sent them video footage of the issue I was having. They said that based on what they saw a service technician would need to look at it. They then went on to say that if the cause of the issue could not be found that I would be charged a service fee. Really if they cannot locate the cause then the item should be replaced. This will influence my decision to purchase LG products in the future.

Terrible - huge regrets – Purchased this year, it leaves water at the bottom of the machine and the dryer twists clothes so badly you can hardly untangle them. Sheets and quilts don’t spin properly and they are soaking wet upon finished cycle even when the spin is put to maximum. The app is completely useless. It’s a horrible machine I regret spending so much money on it. Show details

Great machine, flawed software, awful app – The LG Washtower WWT-1710B is fundamentally a good machine let down by the its reliance on computer programming, lack of detail on what a wash will do in advance and lack of any kind of programability. The app is also very ordinary and is difficult to use in a meaningful way. About its only use is to access more programs than are in the machine,… Read more

however there is a similar lack of detail on what the program actually does.

The machine is not programmable at all, you can only use preset programs and manually alter the parameters to a limited extent. You can't save a particular configuration, only set a couple of programs as favourites for quick access. To repeat the settings, the program must be manually modified each time.

There is a cycles used list in the app, but they can't be selected and downloaded or repeated. To run it again, you have to select the program and manually modify it to the same parameters. When the machine is in standby mode you can send it "cloud" programs from the app but not standard programs. When sending it a downloaded program, you

There are no specifications that I can find on the spin speeds. Nearly all other machines state the RPM or G factor for each setting, but not LG.

And that's the fundamental issue with this machine, you can't determine how long a wash or rinse will be, or how fast a spin is, it's totally up to the machine.

The dryer is OK, but as with all heat pump dryers, it's very slow. There is a manual mode for time, temperature is controlled only by selecting "Turbo", "Normal" or "Eco".

In use, I mostly use the cotton cycle and manually adjust parameters. I've tried the wool cycle for delicates, but it always leaves items in a pool of water in the bottom of the machine so I have to manually spin them out (about another 13 minutes). This is particularly annoying with things like wool blankets and silk blouses and dresses. It just doesn't drain properly.

I've tried a few of the cloud cycles (i.e. programs available in the app that can be downloaded to the machine for single use) but can't see that they offer much. Names like "Colour Protect", "School Uniform", "Sweat Stain" might give a hint as to what the program is for, but you have to select it to find out what its settings are. Then download it to the machine and play with the parameters on the front panel to work out the limits (wash temp, number of rinses, spin settings). And once you have a program and parameters that suit a particular type of load, to replicate it you have to select the program again and manually modify the parameters accordingly.

Finally, there is absolutely no indication of water level, so you have to judge detergent and conditioner based on the load size and hope that the water level is appropriate. The conditioner dispenser only takes about 75ml of fluid, so when doing a large load of say woollen trousers that should have about 150ml of conditioner, you have to add half to the drawer then try and judge when the rinse will be so you can add the remainder.

Hence I only rate this appliance as 2 out of 5. It really could be a lot better with decent software and programmable cycles.

Good large volume washer/Dryer – Bought this thing and then read reviews after finding water on the floor after I first used it. I tightened taps and hoses and would still find water around the machine. The monkeys that delivered and set it up never ran the drain hose from the dryer. I found this when investigating the leak. I'll NEVER buy from LG again – I've never written a negative review in my 50 year life but I am so horribly disgusted with LG and I think you should know. I purchased the washer/dryer tower on-line. It arrived and I accepted delivery as the box it came in looked fine. My renovation project was quite delayed so the washer/dryer tower sat in my garage. Untouched. These things… Read more

are heavy! When I finally was able to install it, it required paid help. I unpackaged and got the unit in place. First thing I saw was a dent. Again, the box it came in had no signs of a dent. This unit was put in the box dented. Okay, I can't see side of the unit. continue. The inside of the drum had a large dent. This was very odd as the inside dent did not match up with the exterior dent, they went in different directions. This could only mean that the dryer drum was dented before it was installed or it was dented while being installed BY LG. Okay, continue. I called my dealer and was hopeful that this could be fixed.. afterall, it had a 10 year warranty. I followed the instructions to run the first load in the washing machine. The washing machine screeched and banged so much that I turned it off, fearing the thing would explode. I have now spent hours on the phone with my dealer and LG. My dealer refers me to LG and LG says it is physical damage and so they won't cover. I finally got someone on the phone who listened to my issues and scheduled a service call. LG then sent me a rather short nasty text that the service call was cancelled as my issues were related to physical damage. They are trying to blame the delivery company (who only cover things for 30 days). However, I've kept the shipping box to show whoever might care that it was clearly packaged damaged. LG doesn't care. I've talked to 4 people from their company now and only one cared to listen and then the service call she set up got cancelled. Again, the two dents were on the dryer. What is the issue with the washing machine??? LG doesn't care. These units are expensive and it looks like on top of paying to buy the thing and paying to get someone to help me move it into place, now I have to pay to have someone help me throw it away. This is insane and I can't believe this is happening with something I purchased in part because it has a 10-year warranty. Now I have to say that I purchased this because I had another one that I was quite happy with. However, it is not worth the risk to buy this or anything from LG. It is a gamble if what you buy will work and LG will not stand by it. I will never buy anything from LG again!!! It is clear that this unit was damaged from their factory in multiple ways. Somebody must have known about the dent on the outside, the dent on the inside and/or the complete dysfuntion of the washing machine and yet they packaged it up and sent it to me anyway. And then when I discovered it, they are saying "get lost". That's what a 10-year warranty buys you from LG. Buy a different brand, of anything!

LEMON – Purchased from Good Guys NorthLakes QLD, waited 2mths, washed 3 loads and water started leaking from underneath. NorthLakes G.G didn’t want to know or care, LG so called helpline was offshore, extremely hard to deal with, waited 2 wks before a service guy could come out and even though LG Customer Care knew it was a tower, had model details etc,… Read more

(took time off work) only to be told by the service guy he can’t handle this tower by himself as too big. Service guy also confirmed it wasn’t the hose connections to the wall taps, as they were connected correctly, checked washers etc..so must be from under the washing machine (like I told him), and asked us me to run a load. I asked if he could give me a hand to manoeuvre it outside (literally 2 foot) cause I didn’t want my laundry cabinetry to get soaked again, he said no it’s too heavy for him to help me and said “can’t we just run it so I can see how much water comes out”….like I said to him it’s literally the whole load of water that flows out during the drain/spin cycle, he was arrogant, rude and said “we’ll there’s nothing I can do by myself, you’ll have to ring the helpline and book another service call”. Now I have to wait a month before 2 service guys can come out. 2 mths waiting for a faulty product that I used 3x and a total 6wks waiting for the tower to be fixed and $5k out of pocket. If this is the kind of faulty product + crappy service experience that you’re looking to spend your hard earned $$ on, then I highly recommend the LG Tower!

Great until it broke down after 6 weeks – This is a fantastic size and a lovely looking machine. Love it! – Great machine, quick wash function only takes 15 min and the dryer is so big and convenient! I have a lot of knit clothing and this machine is gentle enough not to ruin them in a machine wash. Full load in a normal wash takes 1.25 to 1.5hrs and the full load dry of 10kg (takes more than 10kg advertised, dryer is massive) takes around 1hr 40min.… Read more ·  1

You can wash the next load while the 1st is drying ect instead of having to wait for the wash and dry cycle like you would with a all in one.

controls for both washer and dryer are conveniently placed in the center of the machine so its great for shorter people.

Hurts spending the money but I'm so glad I did now after having it for 8 months I can say it was worth every dollar.

Side note please be aware that you can not overdose this machine with laundry liquid as you can with top loaders, each wash needs a max of one cap of liquid or one pod, if you overdose this machine you will have suds left over or the release valve will leek water. I have made this mistake once but as soon as I used the correct dose the machine corrected it self.

Nice one LG, would definitely recommend this product, 2 of them would be epic!
