caused a noticeable delay when selecting settings. This was also repaired. However, further issues have continued. The machine began beeping continuously throughout cycles, and on occasion the display would turn off while the beeping continued and the cycle failed to complete properly. This has already been repaired more than once, yet the problem persists. Most recently, despite another repair visit, the machine is still beeping constantly during operation. Firstly the technician had no idea what he was there to fix. Asked me for a video of the issue even though I explained it to him multiple times. And video recordings were sent when we lodged the repair with LG. He opened the top of the machine and he tightened some things. The technician advised that if the machine overheats, it should not be used for two days to allow it to reset. I find this explanation unacceptable, as a washing machine should not require extended downtime after normal use, nor should it exhibit ongoing faults after multiple repairs. He also told me they would charge me to come out to repair normally. This machine has been faulty from the date of purchase. At this point, the product has not performed reliably at any stage, despite repeated servicing. The issues appear to be persistent and unresolved rather than isolated faults. Given the number of failures and unsuccessful repair attempts, I am requesting that the matter be escalated and that you provide a suitable resolution. This should include either a replacement unit or a full remedy under consumer warranty obligations. I would appreciate a prompt response outlining the next steps.

Good machine but,.....LG Washing Machine design fault issue..............drum paddles come loose – This machine was purchased by my daughter just over two years ago. It has performed admirably. They always seem to come loose after regular washing. The machine is used according to instructions and not overloaded.

More than one of the drum paddles has come loose on at least three occasions.

To LG’s credit, they have allowed a free warranty service for all three service visits. The last one a couple of months ago, was just out of warranty, but the LG operator allowed a free warranty visit.

Unfortunately the service person was unable to tighten one of the rear drum paddles because it “was difficult to access”. So it is loose at the far end.

So what will we do now? Use a machine where due to a design fault, the drum paddles come loose and the agitation action becomes less than useful?

Make sure if you purchase one of these machines, that you check out the type of drum paddles it has fitted.

POSTSCRIPT: Well, this washing machine has been replaced. After using the machine for the last few years as per the instructions, it had begun to make a loud, high pitched noise during the wash and spin cycle. My daughter had enough, and has replaced this LG machine with a Fisher & Paykel front loader.

Defective out of the box - atrocious customer support – Washer dryer was purchased in December 2022, but showed extreme vibrations and walking from very first wash. virtually nothing but waste my time - they will string you along under the pretense of helping you but then turn around and essentially flip the bird. Summary below

1. Case opened with LG in March 2023. Technician sent to my house who confirmed leveling was good and he replaced the shock absorbers. He suggested that if the problem persisted, the machine may need to be taken to the workshop for a major service. 2. Walking persisted. Contacted LG again, who requested me to film the machine walking. 3. First videos sent showing movement. Evidence rejected by LG because the load looks big and I must therefore be overloading the machine. 4. Second videos sent showing very excessive movement during a washer dryer cycle of one set of bedsheets. To confirm I wasn't overloading the machine, I sent a video showing me weighing the load at 3.1kg. Evidence rejected by LG on the grounds that a set of bedsheets contains too many large items for the machine, causing unbalancing. 5. Third videos sent showing a load without any large items using a cotton cycle (which has 9kg limit). Load weighed at 5.9kg. Machine moving and colliding with laundry wall. Evidence rejected by LG on the grounds that my laundry tiles look too slippery. They suggested I place anti-slip pads under the feet. 6. Anti-slip pads placed. This reduced the walking for about three weeks, but the machine has not come off the pads and the problem has begun again. Despite 8 months of ongoing contact with LG customer support, I am stuck with a machine that was broken out of the box, continues to collide with the wall, and needs to be constantly repositioned.

DO NOT BUY FROM LG, irrespective of product. If you have any issues that arise even within the warranty period, they WILL NOT HELP YOU. They will blame everything on user error.
