LG WVC9-1410W Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: WVC9-1410W and WVC91410WMy LGWVC9-1410W Washer Dryer Combo. Purchased 19 Nov 23 only used approx 8 times has developed a large hole in the inner plastic drum requiring a major repair $1,115 Quoted. Bought new for $1684. In other words this means the unit is write off. I have a 5 year Concierge Gold Service Warranty costing an additional $215. Good Guys repairer says that it may have been, (quite specifically) either a 20 cent or a 50 cent coin getting stuck between the main drum and the plastic outer tub ( his statement infers he has come across this issue before) and entering from the door seal. No coin of either denomination was found during the inspection and warranty was refused. The hole in the plastic drum shows signs of melting. I see that many posts relate to the unit getting extremely hot, perhaps this is why I have a hole in the tub. My beef is that the repairer opinion i just that as no coin or other foreign object was found. An absolutely Hypothetical diagnosis. Has anybody else had this issue? Do believe the ACCC would help. Regards All from John
Go to consumer affairs or ACCC a warranty is exactly that. I check pockets on everything and don’t use the dryer as it takes to long, gimmick I fell for. Sorry I can’t exactly help.
Now they came up with another excuse. For me, they said cloth must have been jammed in the door. My repairer specifically wrote that this may be due to rubber heating/melting. @LG still disregarded that and refused the claim.
If i were you, i would first start by giving them only one star to show others how pathetic LG service is, and how useless this appliance is. LG customer service review status is a 1.3 star rating on Google - that says a lot! But ofcourse it would be, their call centre staff are so rude and dismissive.
My machine has been over heating and has a burning smell. Its been happening for months. I also purchased from good guys. I am currently fighting with both companies to get a new machine as mine is still under warranty too. I will update you with how i go. Appreciate if you would do the same.
There’s no indication of the cycle time until after it’s started and it seems that there’s no way to manually dial up your own add-on dry time after selecting a wash cycle. So you’re just left waiting for the machine to auto calculate this.
Does this washer-dryer display the weight of the load or at least warn that the load is beyond the rated load? Example if I enable the dry option, but put clothes that weigh 7 kg, will it warm me before I start the wash?
No it will not, it doesn’t mean it won’t dry, it just means that if you feel they are still a bit damp you can do a manual dry cycle for 30 mins or one of your choosing.
It will just error like any other over loaded machine.
Not that I weight my washing, or adhere to load requirements.
