Lincoln LE17L Questions & Answers
MPN: LE17LI bought the Lincoln from Sydney tools last year, it came with a whirring sound when I let go out the power handle,..now it constantly stops and Ive only used it a few times,...any suggestions or was I sold a dud ?
whiring sound is almost always a bearing. the Lincoln is loud for an electric. constantly stopping may be the safety button, you depress. may not be fully engaging when you press it, in along with main handle. or contact point could be corroded or dust in there. had mine 7 years, big back yard plenty of cooch grass. zero issues
Hmm Im guessing its not supposed to come "NEW" with a whirring sound,....very disappointed will not buy this brand again and wont deal with Sydney Tools either
AGREE WITH THAT Never again I will use Sydney Tools
Can anyone suggest where I can purchase a replacement blade for this mower? I am getting no response from Sydney Tools.
You can't they don't sell one
there are generic blades listed on ebay, may match hole pattern
take it to Bunnings have universal blades it's very basic . I sharpened mine cuts clean now, instead of blob of mulch I have big yard full of cooch does it easy, have an ozita 1500 watt for front yard similar blade
My blade on the mower won't spin
if the motor is working, it would be the spline, on shaft or blade
Which side to turn the bolt to replace the blade?
usually right hand thread
It will be the opposite to the way the blade is turning right to left
how many batteries are supplied
No batteries 240v plug in
No batteries. Used to use a long extension cord to reach all the lawn. I use a big cheap petrol mower now.
Linda, requires an extension lead at least 10amp, cheap at bunnings but get a heavy duty type, i use this one>> external link
how do I assemble the handle bars
Ken, 1st fit the plastic cord hook to the upper 1/2 handles by unscrewing the safety switch bar plastic holder on the left side ( the side without the start switch) 2 screws in the plastic housing & one screw on the metal bar, reassemble after you fit the cord hook......then fit the lower 1/2 bars for the handles to the mower, the lower bars have a bend so fit the bars bending inwards, remember to fit the spring between the ratchets so the assembly will be > cam arm with bolt > into single lower bar > outer 1/2 plastic ratchet > spring > against inner plastic ratchet, turn the cam handle with bolt till firm but not too tight, ...repeat other side & align other lower bar up after fitting so both lower bars are the same angle, then fit the upper bar as per diagram, > dome head bolts with square block locator through holes of lower bars, while holding upper bar in place> washers onto bolts then > screw cam handles on (not too tight) then make sure you can lock the cam handles in place without too much pressure......his is opposite to the diagram but much easier.......
Does this model require an extension lead or is batterie powered?
Sylvia, needs an extension lead, i opted for the corded mower as the battery powered mowers will be going through a big design change as they just don't quite make the grade yet, i did a large area last week at the front of the house with the Lincoln > 200 Sq meters & breezed it in. another Q/'s just ask
how do u charge the mower if battery is required what is the cost
240v mower, no battery extension lead is used with it.
Does the motor of this lawnmower have an overheat protection?
Where I can buy Lincoln electric lawn mower 17" replacement blade?
Maybe check at Sydney Tools which is where I bought my mower from.
As far as I can tell there is zero back-up for this product in Australia, no spare parts, not access to any instructions, unable to find manufacturer or distributor only Sydney Tools who I found indifferent to my enquiries/problems concerning this product, I bought mine from them on-line, almost all on-line sellers these days are either excellent or good, not Sydney tools - very poor.
I wrote it off to (bad) experience and bought something else.
If I wanted a plug in mower now i would try Bunnings, they sell a range of plug in mowers, they offer money back if product fails and should be able to order spares parts.
Thanks Cris I bought from e bay as i was unaware that this mower is available to Sydney tools as well. I was being ripped off to $188.00 in place of $150.00. This product is of very low quality and had no back up i do not know how this company has got permission to do business in Australia.
