Lucci 250mm Premium Round Exhaust Fan

Looks great, affordable, but performance poor – Looks great, price is affordable, but the performance of this fan in very poor. Moved the fan from our bigger bathroom to our smaller bathroom as I thought the fan wasn’t suitable for the size of the room and it still doesn’t work effectively. Positioned it correctly with suitable airflow, and we had water dripping from our ceiling and walls after the first shower in the small bathroom.
Not made to last, overpriced and substandard – We updated our exhaust fans when we renovated our house for a new clean look. We bought everything from Beacon Lighting. These new Lucci exhaust fans replaced working ones that were well over 15 years old. Replaced because they looked dated. Unfortunately the Lucci exhaust fans have lasted only 2 - 3 years (so outside of their warranty). Our usage of the fans was very minimal in the one that burnt out first, and medium usage in the one that is just about gone.
Stupidity we bought a Lucci replacement thinking it was a one off issue before the second started giving way on weeks later. The installation was done by a qualified electrician. The product is clearly sub standard and not cheap when you compare it to others at other retailers.
Purchased in at Beacon Lighting Physical store for $50.
Incredibly Loud – This exhaust fan was much cheaper than the electrician to install it and now I am going to have to get him out again to replace this exhaust fan. It is soooo loud you cannot hear yourself think and is far louder than my kitchen rangehood (also new) on the highest setting. An airplane toilet with the engines roaring is far quieter. As it is summer, I do not yet know if it will be effective in terms of its "fan" capacity in preventing a sauna-like atmosphere in our large bathroom, but there is no way that I can live with this fan. I don't have any way of testing the decibels but I have never heard a fan as loud as this one, ever! Do not buy this fan if you enjoy peaceful ablutions.
A couple of months later....Thanks to Beacon Lighting Bayswater for suggesting that I have the fan checked under Warranty. They organised for an electrician to come and check the fan, which happened promptly. The 'high-flow" nature of the fan and its air-moving capacity is what makes it so loud, she explained. She measured it at 52 decibels! It does remove the steamy air when showering but it is still incredibly loud. I either need to put up with it or get a fan with less grunt.
Purchased in at Beacon Lighting.
