Lundby Stockholm Doll House

Poor quality – Lundby products look amazing. Unfortunately the quality is extremely poor and not designed to be played with by children younger than around 12 years. I bought the full Stockholm furnished house set- and it is barely useable now. The Plastic is super fragile and snaps with simple intermittent play. The plastic balcony railing snapped the roof ledge snapped, legs off chairs/furniture, taps, handles- all snapped. Electrical wiring comes away and hangs from the roof. Too expensive for the quality. Invest in a wooden dolls house!
Purchased in for $650.
Lovely dolls house – A really lovely dolls house, lots of indoor furniture available, pets for the kids outside, a little designers delight. You can even make your own wallpaper and redecorate whenever you like.
So disappointing - child in tears - awful customer service – As a child I was the proud owner of some Lundby dolls and furniture, they were my faves - but I was never able to save enough pocket money for a dolls house! So, for her birthday I treated my daughter to the newly released Stockholm model with loads of sets of furniture, families, animals etc. Her Dad and I were so excited - our excitement was nothing compared to hers on her birthday morning!!! She had spent HOURS poring over the catalogues and choosing her "home"!
After only about 3 hours of play, the tears and heartbreak started as the Stockholm dollhouse just started falling apart.
It says clearly that the swimming pool can be used with "real water". So I put in a tiny amount, up to a dolls ankle. Some of this dripped from a doll onto the floor of the bottom room, this floor is next to the pool section and is covered by paper.
Why paper? The top floors are plastic. The paper floor ripped, and fell away into sticky balls, like lint ball type pieces from where the drips of water were, and the glue started smearing from the rips onto furniture and dolls.
An almost similar fate happened to the largest room's floor.
The swimming pool section does not fully or properly attach to the main dollhouse. This is difficult for a child to play with as the section tips backwards every time it comes away from the house. On one occasion as it tipped backwards against the house some residual water in the pool dripped onto the paper covering of the large room's floor and it slowly ripped off more and more each time it was played with until my daughter became too upset at how it looked to play with it anymore.
She feels very guilty, that she has "broken" her new dolls house, she shouldn't have used the swimming pool ( again, the instructions and box clearly say this is possible and even emphasise it) and that she is in the wrong. It is so upsetting to see this.
I have emailed Lundby via their website contact form requesting someone contact me to discuss this - and had no reply. I have again written to Lundby, and heard nothing.
Please don't risk putting your little girl through the upset and heart ache of this inevitable flaw in the houses construction and steer clear of this doll house.
Lundby used to be excellent - not any more.
Firstly, thanks for finally responding, even if it has taken 6 months. The information to use water is as I've said, on the instruction booklet and printed on the box. I have photos of the Stockholm doll house box on the computer and it is along the lines of "even use real water." I will find the photos but you do not reply to emails.
Also it is stated on your own Lundby website, in the information given with the picture of the Stockholm doll house.
I would post your website pictures and text but am not able to in this review, so here is the link.
Your website external link
says "a fab groovy layout with two sun decks and, of course, a blue mosaic pool that slides out and can be filled with water."
A quick google of retailer websites also gives the same information. The same information that is given on your website.
This is who we parents buy from. The retailers are using your information. Here are the top 6 and what they have to say:
Edresources.com.au
'This amazing beach house comes complete with entertaining decks, a fab groovy layout with two sundecks and, of course, a pool that slides out and can be filled with water. This stunning doll's house has loads of play areas to guarantee hours of fun!'

Collector-dolls.com.au

I think it is indisputable that the doll house is marketed as being a toy which has a swimming pool that can be filled with water.
We still have my daughter's ruined doll house and would like to know what solution you propose to resolve her disappointment. I would think honouring the (also widely advertised) one year warranty would be the minimum Lundby could offer my little girl.
Another month on and no reply from Lundby. Please - do not buy children's toys from these heartless people.
Sorry about this late reply! I have asked our Australian distributor "Axis toys" to correct this information on their website, which is also the information shown on websites selling Lundby. It is incorrect information. Please visit external link for correct info. Please email to info@micki.se and we will make sure you will be replaced for the broken products. Best regards, Kristina
Hi Tammy, we are sorry that we didn't hear from you direct to rectify this situation straight away. I assure you that if we had known we would have done so. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and your replacement is on its way. Regards, Paula at Lundby Australia

Hi, I'm really sorry to hear about your disappointment in the Lundby Stockholm Doll House. I'm also sorry you haven't heard from any of us before. I was recently informed by your product review.
However, I must ask you where you find the information that it "clearly says that the swimming pool can be used with "real water"" on "the instruction and box"?
This is the "warning" that comes with the house: "NB: Careless play with water in the pool may damage the electricity circuit, wallpaper, floors and furniture in the doll’s house." To me this message means we dissuade children to play with water in the house since it is very likely it will damage different things in the house.
We are now discussing to make available floor patterns on our website (lundby.com) for easy print-out to repare broken floors. Wall papers already available.
