2019 Jackson forward fold camper – Easy set up and set down, especially overnight. We have dragged this camper through tracks you would think twice about taking you four wheel drive on. Trailer tracks unbelievably we'll behind vehicle on rock, sand and corregations. Only issues are any stone chips on body rust fast due to Chinese steel. Boat loader is flimsy and same issue rust due to Chinese steel again. Shock absorber crush tubes work themselves loose and require regular retension. Have put about 20k on trailer, cheap tyres are shot and trailer has been wheel aligned twice in this time .Canvas kept us dry over Christmas at a national park when we got around 170 mm of rain. Camper leaks a small amount of dust on correlations, but was expected. Water pump is noisey , but works well. No real complaints. Very happy campers. As always nothing is perfect. But this trailer works great for a family of 4. Very basic trailer but comfortable and good build quality for money.

The bads out weigh the goods – I brought this camper brand new in 2015 from Rocklea, Brisbane warehouse, so I have 5 years of ownership this year. *Upon pick up/inspection a wheel nut had been over threaded and the whole piece needed to be replaced (that was a 2 hour wait). There was a leak in the water tank which needed to be fixed (1 hour wait). *Just outside of 12 months after 3 actual uses the Aquacube hot water system we brought failed - the water temp wouldn’t regulate (no warranty). $499 down the drain. We also started to notice surface rust bubbling under paint work on different areas of the exterior and interior. Rust had already started to rear it’s ugly head on fridge storage trays - just everywhere. * 3 years old - tail lights stopped working as water has seeped into tail light space and condensation shows on the inside. This year the jockey wheel also buckled which needed to be replaced with heavy duty after market one $120 later. * 5 years old - the battery charger stopped working due to water inside electrical components. $320 to replace from repco. Rust is still bad on sliding mechanisms and various spots around camper.
****Please note this camper lives outside most of the year, as we don’t have the storage to garage it. We have taken this camper to beach and inland sites and has gone anywhere our fj cruiser could go. We wash thoroughly after every use WD40 tent poles sliding mechanisms and components for preventative maintenance***
I would NOT recommend this brand to anyone in the market for a camper trailer. We only brought it as we had seen them at a camping show and they were endorsed by 4wd TV at the time. We paid just over 22k for it and 5 years later in the condition it is in is worth less than nothing.
Purchased in at MDC Rocklea for $22,000.
Firstly you haven’t even acknowledged the rust... which is the main issue. It was so terribly painted that the rust was showing under the paint, how does that even happen? The aqua cube is a reflection of MDC in my view as you guys were peddling the brand to buy with the camper there was no other options available to buy with the camper package. A pretty hard life is pretty far from the real deal. It’s made to go off road - just by living outside in the elements doesn’t mean it’s had a hard life. Such a ridiculous passive aggressive statement. The camper use to see maybe 4 trips a year about 3-4 days long. That’s hardly any use for a camper that age. My rego is 958QZV see if that comes up in your system.

Hi Amy, sorry to hear your disappointment. As I understand it, the initial problems were fixed immediately apart from some inconvenience waiting for them to finish, secondly a third party accessory failed just outside of warranty. Are you aware that under Australian Consumer Law you still may have had recourse on that product? Why is the Aquacube failure a reflection on MDC? This could also be said for the charger however we only install Projecta units in all current models. With regard to the jockey wheel, we made a video to help people avoid breaking them you can view here external link It sounds like the camper has had a pretty hard life living full time in the elements, beach runs etc, this might have contributed to the taillight seals and rust. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information in our warranty system to see the history.
