of stock, she took the time to check my warranty—and to my amazement, it was still covered under Maxi-Cosi’s amazing lifetime warranty. That kind of peace of mind is rare these days!
Since the part wasn’t available, Meg arranged for me to return the product to Baby Bunting for either a full replacement or store credit. The whole process was clear, fair, and handled with care.

Comfy and safe seat, but you'll need a PhD and an entire afternoon to clean it – This seat definitely has it's positives, it is fairly easy to install and get baby in and out of and I do believe it would keep her safe in an impact. But when designing products to put babies in, please remember that they are almost always expelling some kind of liquid. There are no instructions for this in the provided paperwork, only minute-long 'instructional' videos on YouTube that make almost no effort to explain, instruct or direct how to get it off and on.
You'll need to spend a good amount of time examining and fiddling with it all to figure out what goes where and what actually comes apart.
If you're saving up for one of these seats, save a bit extra for whatever engineering degree is needed to replace the cover without going through all 7 stages of grief.
Maxi Cosi owe it to their customers to at least provide proper, comprehensive instructions and we likely will look to other manufacturers in the future.

Seatbelt constantly getting stuck – Bought this car seat a few weeks ago and have nothing but regrets with the experience. The seat belt constantly gets stuck and does not tighten safely. Can’t fault it – This seat was so easy to put in my 2010 toyota aurion. We originally had bub in a steelcraft capsule and i decided to go with maxi cosi for our new seat especially after the amazing service I have gotten from them with my maxi cosi Lila stroller. the clips are amazing comes so in handy to just put bub into her seat. The iso fix is such a great idea just unfortunately my car doesn’t have that feature. Overall this seat is amazing and I cannot fault it at all and my bub loves it and I recommend it 100%
Easy to use child seat. Appears comfortable and safe – This is my first child seat and it is easy to use and adjust. It feels sturdy and reassured me that my child is safe. I have been able to adjust height accordingly myself and soon we will be changing it to forward facing. Perfect upgrade from a capsule! – We upgraded from the Maxi-Cosi Mico Plus at 9 weeks old. This seat fits amazingly in our 2021 Rav 4, plenty of seat for the passenger infront to be comfy. Bub is nice and cool in the seat, considering it’s summer here in Australia. Belts do up and undo easily, tether strap is easy to use. We have the isofix installation too. negative thing we experienced which maxi Cosi have been amazing with, was the magnets for the belt buckle to attach to whilst you are getting Bub in and out, are not great. They are a thin little magnet sewn to a piece of material under the actual seat trim. Coming from the capsule that has actual tabs which were incredible, I was so bothered by this as it was my favourite feature. Maxi Cosi are replacing the trim so hopefully it will be better. Not a deal breaker as we brought this seat for the safety and quality and comfort for our Bub.
There are better models out there – I was recommended a couple of different maxi cosi car seats, but managed to get persuaded to buy the euro plus due to their superior safety features. I’ve had the seat for 5 months and there’s a constant battle with the harness feature - it so so difficult to tighten and loosen. LOVE THIS CAR SEAT – Bought this carseat for my grandchild and love it !!! Magnetic harness holder is a great feature which makes it easy to take bubba out and back in with so much ease. Not happy! – Purchased a Maxi-Cosi Vita Smart Convertible and after 2 uses I was straight back into the store (Baby Bunting) to exchange it for a completely different brand. years old) so without further research we just stuck with the Maxi-Cosi brand. Now I understand that every baby is different, body temperature etc. but this car seat needs to be further looked into, my baby was absolutely distraught from the heat this car seat was causing her tiny little body, in such a short space of time! She lasted 15 minutes, if that, of travel in the car before a gut wrenching/curdling cry would take over her whole body, we removed her from the car seat to find that she was sweating and absolutely boiling hot! We actually gave the car seat the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was just a moment baby was having that day, but come the second round of using the car seat, the exact same thing happened again! We didn't even leave the driveway upon the 3rd attempt, it was awful! I believe its a mix of the type of fabric the car seat is made out of and also the narrow fitting of the car seat itself, its a very tight fit in there. She was very crumpled and sat at an awful angle which meant her little body was folding in half and squishing her tummy, adding to the distress and discomfort. We tried moving extra padding around, padding underneath her bottom so she wasn't so crumpled, nothing worked and we weren't willing to put her safety at risk to make the car seat work.. not at all!
We travelled overseas for the birth of our baby so by the time we arrived back in Australia and were ready to use the car seat our returns policy was void due to it being beyond 14 days, but with the issue this car seat had it then fell under the Consumer Law and met the conditions of a "Major Failure" which included "has a problem that would have stopped you from buying the item if you had known about it" and "is unsafe", with these terms, I was able to exchange the car seat.
I am not one for taking time to write out product reviews, but an issue like this with such a small baby is very dangerous and needs to be looked into! Any situation similar needs to be avoided, do your research, check how far back the seat can lay while rear-facing, look into the fabric type and 100% try your baby in the car seat before purchasing to see if they sit comfortably etc.
Please do not buy – Purchased this seat last year as new parents, when we were still under the false impression that more expensive = better/safer. While the seat looks great, is a good size for a small car and has some fancy features (eg magnetic buckle holder, easy height adjusting), I regret spending money on this seat. seat due to the harness. The harness is difficult to tighten, with the tether not pulling in a smooth motion - we sometimes struggle to get it nice and tight. We’ve tried pulling the harness from the back to get a tighter fit, but it’s still a struggle to pull the tether in a smooth motion. This is a widespread issue and not an isolated problem relating to our particular seat: I’m part of a parent group and other parents with a Euro complain about this exact problem. We are so frustrated with this seat that we are now considering buying a different one, even though we’ve only had it for ten months.
