Not real good. The only way I have found to make a cup of tea is run : about half a cup of plain water first as the first third of a cup you can hold your finger under it without getting to hot. tip it out and make your tea. A good hot cup is actually impossible as temp is too low
Follow-up · I think it's got worse since first review. For first cup in morning, I need to run at least 1 to 2 cup fulls out and then make my coffee.and usually follow with 20 seconds in microwave if I want it hot like normal kettle. Um I think it's great for little kids or elderly so they don't burn themselves. Definitely not good for my wife that drinks tea. It has the hot tap water look to the tea, not recommended.
Good cheap unit but needs careful operation – Good inexpensive unit. Only heats to about 70 degrees (not adjustable). Used many times a day since Nov 2022. Some reviews have identified an issue where the unit stalls and then results in a big explosion of steam and hot water out of the spout. This has happened to us at the start, and is the result of not completely pressing down the dispensing button on the top. It does not click down and can "float" back up with the pressure of the boiling water/steam which then results in a dangerous build up.
By firmly pressing the dispensing button to green, the problem has never recurred.
We run citric acid through it once a month or so to keep it clean.
Follow-up · May 2026 - and it's still working!! Running through at least 2 litres per day.
